To me, a short rest in between games + tired players + using many reserve players = not a recipe to win. The forwards can't carry the line game in and game out even tho it seems they are damn trying to. Pato uhhh just very poor. I know he's young with immense talent but if he can't seem to figure out the partnership with Ibra.

I only watched the last 25 minutes of the game due to work. From what I saw, it seemed to be a disorganized, impatient, and clueless game (attack-wise). Then I read the report and learned that we actually had some good chances early on and that Pato played poorly.

I don't know what to say. I really thought a home game against Lazio would be a guaranteed 3 points; after all, it is Lazio. I can't make any comment either anyway as I only watched part of the game.

I am so pissed right now. It is amazing that we seem to produce 2 injured players per game. At this rate, we will need to have Maldini back at the end of season - not Paolo Maldini, but Cesare Maldini.

Here's a link to a fantasy football website that has statistics for Milan players in the Lazio game...

http://www.seriealive.com/match-cent...339062/team/1/

Notice Pato, he has ZERO points... look at all of the stats, he has ZERO in everything.... I have never seen anything like this.

Pato had a poor game, as well as Ibra (the problem with this guy is he can produce a pure moment of magics despite playing really bad) ... Oddo was awful (did he deliver one single cross ? I mean, a good one), Thiago Silva wasn't as good as in the last games, Flamini tried hard but missed a lot of things (he comes back from injury so it is an encouraging performance), Emmanuelson disappeared sometimes, Antonini was useless ...

The only good guys were:
- Robinho, he was everywhere, he impresses me a lot.
- Yepes, impressive too.
- Abb who had almost nothing to do.

Leggrotaglie did a good first game but the Lazio b!tch simply destroyed him (as well as Bonera, I thought his head was going to explode ) ... About this young Czech player, he shouldn't be allowed to play for some games because that shouldn't be possible to kick heads like that without getting a red card !! Simply scandalous !!

Yes Oddo almost scored from the cross, and another cross was perfect for Flamini who couldn't put it on target.. may have been others.. He's the best crosser of the ball from ALL FB's we currently have (Vila I don't know)....

I don't know why everyone hates on Oddo, he's not awful...and compared to Bonera who should be in Serie C, Oddo looks like Cafu in his prime..

By the way, Flamini's finishing could be worse than Gattuso's.

He's missed a million chances to score this season, and he's barely played. two headers and a shot tonight, all 3 no where near goal...one could say it's not his job, but he's like a little kid with his finishing. We have plenty of DM's, he should just sit back...If he wants to be a dynamic midfielder, he needs to be able to finish

Lazio did not impress me at all. They ere like the Catania Thugs.. Throwing elbows.. they barely touched the ball all game, and did not have 1 decent chance to score. We were unlucky tonight, and I think we showed how much more quality we had. Sometimes in Football, you just end 0-0.

The biggest thing taken from tonight is that we need our Midfielders back, end of story.

This guy Kozok should be punched in the face. Where's Gattuso when you need him?

Tonight:

Good
Ibrahimovic
Robinho
Yepes
Legrottaglie
Oddo
T. Silva

Average
Bonera
Cassano

Poor
Pato
Antonini
Emmanuelson
Flamini

such a frustrating result, but in a positive note, Lazio are supposed to be challengers and they didnt even scare us ONCE. but even if we played for 3 days it would of stayed 0-0. just one of those games....

Elmago, i thought Antonini played well! but i agree with your other points.

flamini is doing good considering it's his first game back from injury,he is everywhere,he offers more connecting fluency to team play than gattuso.his finishing do needs improvement though, but the whole team lack execute precision and composure today.

pato is bad again, when is the last time he scores against a decent rivalry? sheva always scored in big games. In his milan career so far, pato only shows improvement stride in finishing,he is world class in this aspect right now.but his movement and game reading is way behind, his dribbling is even going backwards.hope it's just the normal growing pain.

Yepes was an absolute rock, if he can keep this up, we don't need to hurry Nesta back from injury.

Also, this game was destined to a draw as Lazio parked the bus heavily. In order to attack fluently a team needs a dynamic midfield, yesterday we played with reserve midfield (1 new player, 1 defender, 1 player just back from injury).

It's sad because we had our chances, but our defensive solidness give a lot of hope.

A frustrating match where our play suffered, partly due to Lazio's negativity and partly because we lack individuals to lead our game, with the exception of Ibra.

Overall we deserved the win, we were the only team really playing for it and we missed some great chances. In the first half the game was pretty stifled, as we lacked any real structure when building attacks and Lazio simply did nothing but defend. We created some decent chances, but they were from individual moments in the match than from any decent play. The 4-3-1-2 vs 4-3-1-2 tactically cancelled each other out, and neither team really attacked in the wide areas at all (one of the key problems 4-3-1-2 has), or did so too infrequently. On the ball we lacked pace or sharpness and ultimately we allowed Lazio to defend deep in numbers, resulting in us punting balls to Ibra, who himself was more often than not offside.

The second half saw an improvement, as we played with much greater urgency and stretched Lazio. Initially I thought this would lead to a goal for us and we came closest with Ibra hitting the posts. However, the game essentially descended into a farce with Lazio players going down to waste time and Kozak injuring our players. Damato the referee deserves the blame for this and he ultimately was the poorest person on the person, so much so it's shocking someone like that officiates in a top league.

Players..

Abbiati - Nothing to do besides a few kicks and minor saves.
Oddo - Didn't push up enough in the first half, but did push up more in the second. His delivery often let him down though.
Bonera - Was solid until getting injured.
Yepes - A wall at the back. The guy is simply brilliant and has been huge for us this season.
Antonini - He's improved a lot in the last few games. If he could use his left foot he'd be so much more dangerous going forward.
Flamini - A decent return to the side. He pushed forward numerous times and wasn't caught out of position. Would have scored if his finishing was better.
Thiago - Completely stopped Hernanes in the match, but didn't do as well with his passing as previous games. His worst decision was on a counter when he passed to Pato (who had two players on him) rather than Binho who was free.
Emanuelson - A mixed game. He's still learning his way in Milan, but he showed moments of what he's capable of. However, he also had some good chances and his finishing completely let him down.
Robinho - A mixed outing, at times he made great passes and at others failed with the very basics.
Pato - A poor match, mostly as he seemed unsure as to what to do. He looks a little low on confidence and I think it seems that he feels pressured to always give the ball to Ibra. His workrate wasn't bad, but he needs to play with less pressure. On the ball he seemed a little slow too and he needs to work on playing in tight spaces. That said, I felt he should have stayed on as he's one of the few players that can turn a game in a second.
Ibra - A pretty poor match as he seemed to lack movement and was too often offside. He's right to complain when service is poor, but at the same time he didn't help the team enough either this time.
Legro - Was playing a good game until a thug put him in hospital.
Cassano - Was brought in to add creativity in tight spaces, but failed to really lift the team.

We miss guys like Pirlo and Boateng a lot recently against opponents which are tight. Boateng is missed mostly because he plays at a higher tempo, pressing high up the pitch and playing quick passes and flicks to keep momentum in moves. Pirlo on the other hand is one of the few who can organise play against opponents and open up spaces, rather than simply pass to Ibra for some magic. These are two elements that were lacking yesterday and it's no coincidence that Ibra never complains at these two when they play.

I'm not sure I really understand those stats, they make no sense. According to them was Abbiati (he had pretty much nothing to do) our best player and Ibra and Pato our worst? Also Oddo is rated as the best defender?

It seems pretty random to me.

Agree, Pato was bad not horrible, and it wasn't even his fault imho.
He sucks as a winger, and sucks against highly packed defenses. But Allegri still chose to play him there.
