Official: Gilardino to Fiorentina

He is not classy from a footballer point of view; but from a personality point of view I think he is a bit more modest than some poeple here suggest/have suggested.

A great player, a nice person. Alberto Gilardino sent Milan's official website a letter: to thank the club, his team mates, and to salute all the Milan fans.

MILAN - The three years spent at Milan were very important and very formative, the passage to a big, organised club allowed me to explore a new world, it was different and it allowed me to learn things and improve. I am grateful to all those who lived with me in these years at Milan, nice moments and also difficult ones, but which allowed me to mature and become more conscious of my possibilities.
I want to thank those who wanted me and to all the people I shared joys with in this club.

With Milan I became a European champion, European SuperChampion, and World Champion, I feel those victories as partly mine, just like all the other team mates who fought hard, some more than others, for these objectives.

Leaving this club I am unhappy about just one thing: not having been able to show my value fully due to various reasons.

Enough said. For those who have been bashing Gilardino from a person's point of view for the past 2 years, you should be well ashamed of yourself for what you have said.

Whether Gilardino is/was/going to be a great player or not, it doesn't matter anymore. It's sometimes the personality that counts. He may not be the best football examplars in the world from both a player and professional perspective, but he at least has the sincerity to thank Milan.

That, for some of us here at MM as fans, is truly something that is well worth-learning.

I read that yesterday, was a fantastic gesture from him.

Well, it's a nice gesture, no doubt. A lot was expected of him and he just didnt deliver. Best of luck in Fio and hope he doesnt score against us!!

good luck there. i wish he'll be a good player there. he was underrated here.

he is first class player from every point, and he is showing this now in fiorentina i just hope he won't score against us.
