Nah...thereīs nothing to be excited, my friend...at least from Brazil.

On a side not, I just saw yersterday that Chelsea turn down a 20 millions Euro offer from Real Madrid to buy Alex. Madrid new coach Pelegrini wanted the Thank to upgrade his defense, asked for Valdano and they made the bid...ahhhhhhh Milan old times(from Madrid bid to Chelsea negative to sell)

Strange that they didnīt sell, since Carlo didnīt start him against Hull City, opting for Carvalho. It was said Guss Hiddink(now Chelsea football adviser) said them to not sell Alex.

But to be honest, after to see they turn down 20 millions, I canīt see how we would enter this "fight" nowadays...Even if now was the right time to bid, since the world Cup is near and Alex isnīt even more called for Dunga. Canīt see he staying on the bench until he finish his contract(may 2010) puting in jeopardy his spot on Brazil NT.

It would be great(imo) to see this back line:
------T. Silva----Nesta-----Alex---Zambro------

Since we donīt score, and have no service for the forwards, it would be a hell to score on us...

Regarding our only Non-Eu spot, I sure hope we spend it in a player that will be a factor here(from Brazil, Hernanes or Alex for example) and not in someone that will never to play, as its hapening in some of our recente desperate signs...

Canīt stand more this type of purchase

I ask you that because you are from Ireland ...

Anyway, back to the topic and ... again nothing new about any potential arrival !!

Oh, I forgot, about Cissokho, do you remember, most of the people here started to bash our management for not taking him at 15M and trying to reduce his price ... after 2 games in Lyon, he's done nothing particular. They start to think that he was overpriced because he is good at defence (in those 2 games so far, against two teams that are not top teams) but didn't bring anything in attack. Some people even already ask why they bought him !!

I know it's still early to criticize this player, but if people react like that about him in Lyon, how would it be in Milan ??
You know, GeoTav...never talk here about Cissokho because only watched 2 or 3 games of Porto last season. But for some reason I had that "Vargas feeling" about him...

Vargas I watched several time here in South America and sometimes in Serie-A, and never understood the crazy hype about him. A normal player that all of sudden was our salvation last season. With Cissokho it was the same, but as I only saw the guy playing 2 or 3 times, I felt it as unfair to judge him as a player or make a bold prediction...

I also saw the first 2 games of Lyon this season, just to see this guy playing, and one more time became unipressed...and very disapointed because of the hype around him. Sure itīs still early, but I canīt help to imagine what he could have do in a pressure situation that he would face in Milan.

To be honest, and maybe a little prejudiced, I always take with a grain of salt every "new thing" comming from Porto. Itīs incredible how Pinto da Costa&Co always over hyped his players...From Quaresma to Hulk, passing for Bruno Alves(canīt believe they ask 30 Millions for him and still some clubs maybe are crazy to pay), always watched Porto games, and thereīs few prospects to be excited...

But for some reason, every year thereīs a must buy guy from that club that I donīt understand...

There are still too many crap players in england who r basically pace and nothing else (aglobonhor). But at the same time, there r a million players in italy who have some technique and do well in italy, who can't play in spain or england cause the move like snails...

In many ways though, england is just more advanced... in terms of stadium deals, tv deals, and then we get to the field....

youth? england give youth moe chances than anyone. Do you think federico macheda would sniff the field in italy, and now he's 1 of most promising strikers in epl. And why? Cause fergie has enough faith to stick 1 or 2 promising youth into his team of exerienced talents. Now look at giovinco? That kid could start literally anywhere... he is that good, but juve wont let him on the field... and the sad thing is when he does come on, he generally changes the game. UCL vs. chelsea prime example, games dont get bigger than that.

The dept thing is kind of complicated... if its debt like arsenal, i think its okaY (They borrowed to build a new stadium and are paying it off) if its debt like liverpool or man utd its unfortunate (clubs had zero debt until purchased, the new owners couldnt afford the clubs so they essentially borrowed from a bank, hence the debt.... a la how people buy houses in the USA) but if its debt like man city, who just has a rich sugar daddy paying WAAAAYYYY beyon there means to self-produce then thats just wrong.

BTW worst violator is real madrid, perez went and got interest free loans (something NO OTHER team has access to) to buy players in a recession???

and the rule change is league by league... italy makes itself easy to be poached.
Couldnīt to write it Better, Milano84...perfect.

Itīs funny people think the Non-EU Italy Rules are protecting Italy NT when the Italian coaches do the most damages. Italian coaches generally do what Dunga is doing right now with Pato.

They have no faith in their own youngsters and the example of Giovinco is perfect. Macheda also would not see the field in Italy in years. A so repected coach like Rannieri(sp?) was killing a talent like Jovinco and no one said nothing. As Brazilian I hope the best for Diego(and rate him high), but itīs incredible that they had bought him without give a proper chance to their own talent

Serie A is losing ground as a big league and market, and it will damage more than help Italian NT...at least in my vision.

Abate with an excellent cross to Pato for the goal. 1-1
Too bad though.... this scoreline won't spur management to buy anyone afterwards

Side note: This current 22 is a freakin insult to our 22 Shirt. He can't even chest down a long ball properly :P

AC Milan Coach Leonardo Considering Ignazio Abate For Left Back Position
Leonardo revealed that the club may not buy a new left-back but try youth product Ignazio Abate in that position instead.

Despite the recent arrival of striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Milan fans are hoping that the club's transfer campaign is not quite over yet. The likes of Marek Jankulovski and Gianluca Zambrotta aren't getting any younger, so according to many a full-back would be a welcome addition to the club.

Lazio's Lorenzo De Silvestri, Tottenham Hotspurs' Gareth Bale, and Real Madrid's Royston Drenthe have already been linked with the club, but now it seems they are considering a different solution altogether.

Coach Leonardo apparently intends to use youth product Ignazio Abate, who usually plays as a winger, in a full-back role.

"His ideal position is of a winger in a 4-4-2 system," the coach said, as quoted by Goal.com Italia, "but we have thought about putting him at the back. Unfortunately we have not been able to put this into practice because we were missing some midfielders during the preparation period. He has to learn the defensive mechanisms, but he runs a lot and can adapt."

Abate himself has confirmed that, in order to play more, he is willing to change his position.

"I've talked about it with the coach various times," the 22-year-old said. "It could be a possibility. In the last few matches, due to the absences of [Gennaro] Gattuso, [Massimo] Ambrosini, and [Andrea] Pirlo, the coach opted to play me in midfield, but as soon as there is an opportunity we will try it.

"I already played as a wing-back with Modena in Serie B, at Empoli I was a left winger and a playmaker, and at Torino a wide player in a 3-5-2 system..."

Yeah, goal.com is stupid. What Abate and Leo mean is that he'll play full-back (right back) and Zambro moves left.

I'm curious to see how this works out. He certainly has the lungs and a great cross, but is he disciplined enough? Maybe with Gattuso (or even Becks) protecting, it might work out well... But i'm not holding my breath.

Nesta and Thiago played incredibly well tonight, lets hope they keep getting better. I think all we need now is a full back, that's it. I can live with Huntelaar/Borri, and Pirlo/Seedorf, R80/Seedorf. Hernanes would be a nice gift, though.

abate playing left back it is about as likely as fabregas being a milan player lol, doesn't berlusconi remember that milan has albertazzi and antonini for that particular position. we should never pay any attention to what a politician declares it is either a lie or his statements are motivation by political realities.

aside from the obvious FB need (and its verrrrrry necessary) i couldnt help but think... if ronnie or pato go down, we have ZERO creativity uptop. Its scary... a hunt/bori partnership would be awful

im against this...same thing they did for Flamini...Although he played very well at RB and LB he didn't like it...they should let Abate grow in his position...his cross was wat gave us the goal....when was the last time we scored like that except from beckham to inzaghi?

1. leo said it
2. antonini never played fb till he came to milan in 2008
3. abate is bigger and stronger than antonin and janku
4. we need attacking fb, abate might be good for it... he's played wingback in a 3-5-2
