Not so fast my friend! From the Yahoo live transfer ticker:

Quote:
Wesley Sneijder is not sure whether he wants to play for Inter. His agent Soren Lerby has told calciomercatonews.com: "I have spoken with Wesley, but at the moment he is indecisive - he doesn't know what he wants yet. He will think about it now and he will decide whether to move to Inter."

We may get De Silvestri then (not really top level), which would add surplus to requirements in FB positions, but some better quality is needed.
I would try to include Manuel Pasqual in the Kaladze deal.

Pasqual is a little improvement over Jankulovski defensively and he's surely worse in attack. If De Silvestri doesn't come, or some miracle happens, like Oddo rediscover his Lazio form before he joined us , we should reconsider Abate.

I dont think Pasqual would be an improvement on Jankulovski, De Silvestri has potential though

Also, training side by side with zambrotta everyday wouldn't be too shabby either
I've always thought De Silvestri has a lot of potential, so getting him would be fairly pleasing for the long run.

Probably easier to get Vargas than Pasqual.

Yes he did shut down CR7 last year for his third and fourth games in CL, but didn't Oddo also shut down CR7 when we won against Manchester in 2007 ?!

So before being totally disapointed by this player (and happy that he didn't come to Milan) or the contrary, I'll wait for 5-6 months. But so far, after 3 games with Lyon, for me, he didn't show anything special (against the Anderlecht team from yesterday that wasn't able to do more than 2 passes in a row for any reason, even Brocchi would have looked like a WC player and Jankulovski like the best LB of all times ).
Oddo was 30ish a that time, and was playing a younger player. C Ronaldo was world player of the year that season, and he Criskho was 21. there is a huge difference. Now what does everyone want? a LWB, we had one and let him get away

if we dont sign a good FB this summer then i think our best option is to attempt to convert abate into a RB... it could work out very well in the long run..

Zambrotta was converted from a wide midfielder back in his early Juve days. Serginho too, and Janku. Its nothing new. Abate can work if he wants it to.

-------------------Abbiati
------------Nesta-------Thiago Silva
Abate---------------------------------Zambro
------------------Pirlo(Seedorf)
---------Gattuso(Ambro)--------Flamini(Ambro)

-----------------Ronaldinho(Seedorf)
----------Huntelaar(Borri)----Pato(Pippo)

Most probably a new LB will come.

Milan targets were Tiago Silva who came last January, Dzecko who failed to come and instead of him we got Huntelaar and Cissoko who also failed to come, so a replacement should come in the coming days.

There aren't many world-class LB's out there though..... Cissokho seemed to be a perfect match but it didnt work out.

Maltese_Charlie, any chance you think we can sign one of the Dutch players at Real?

I think we could easily sign one of Real Merda's Dutch players. Only problem is for that to happen we would have to spend money. We showed that players still want to sign for milan Cissokho , Fabiano , Dzeko , Hernanes all would of signed if they could of. I just think that MGT will not spend any more money after the 6.5 million that they have spent. Books are balanced there must be more money left surely.

I'm certain that we'll be buying a full back. The noise regarding Oddo leaving is increasing, and now Kaladze seems to be out the door as well. A full back (left or right) is almost certain to come. The question is who. I'm hoping it's someone that none of us thought of, something out of the blue like Cissokho and Onyewu.

Also, don't be surprised if Milan splash 10+ on a player. The cash is there. They were just waiting for the prices to come down.

Yes, this is our reality, and we're not weak at all. Though Ambro never plays on the right side, so you should put Flamini in that bracket. Also, Seedorf can play on any of the three midfield spot and if Abate is a side-back (and unfortunately I don't see him in any other position), then Jankulovski is another option on the left of the midfield. We should be real and say we have a lot of options there, as long as any of Gattuso, Flamini or Ambro is in the team. Really a handful of choices. Here are some of them:

Gattuso - Pirlo - Flamini;

Seedorf - Pirlo - Ambrosini;

Flamini - Seedorf - Jankulovski;

Gattuso - Ambrosini - Seedorf;

The only drawbacks are that Gattuso can play only on the right (and in center, but I personally can't see him there), Janku only on the left, and Ambro don't play on the right.

I think it's crucial that we find a replacement for Ronaldinho, cause we need Seedorf in the middle.
