i remember back in 1994, when there were rumours linking him to milan, he said something like "as if milan is the best team in the world!" Of course Milan is... what did he think? JDT is good for the coppa games so we should keep him. With the loss of Dhorasso and Brocchi, Milan are kinda weak in the "second team" department. This is a little bit of a concern because we cannot play the first team in all the games ... especially in the Coppa. So I hope the transfer market does not close without signing some utility midfield players in Brocchi's vein. (or is that Vogel? )Last edited by Nadir; 09-07-2005 at 08:48. |

Or the events of recent days and the anti-terror operations in Italy are probably at the top of his list and he really doesen't know. |

The last people from whom I would expect to hear the truth about Gila's transfer, before it has been officially announced, are Silvio, Galliani, and Parma's Director Cinquini (or something like that
). Of course, they will say they know nothing - it is always like that. Don't expect anyone of the above to say "yes, it is done" before the deal has been officially confirmed. |

Apparently, everything that has been said yesterday evening seems to be bullsh@#t.
Gilardino's agents have said that conclusion to the deal is not close. Besides Gilardino claims that he only wants to play for Milan and if it cannot be done he'll stay at Parma. (very clever when one knows that in this case Parma would have to double his salary, something obviously they cannot afford, even in their wildest dreams. ) http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Squadr...rlusconi.shtml ![]() |

there is nothing apperant about it - people, who are professional liars said that they know nothing of Gila's deal being done and all of a sudden everything is so apperant and crystal clear. Oh come on, can't believe people are still being caught by these cheap tricks.

Gilardino’s Milan Move All But Sealed
7/9/2005 11:09:00 AM Reports out of Italy claim that Alberto Gilardino’s switch to Milan has been virtually completed. It is thought that the two clubs have now agreed a fee and that contracts will be signed early next week. After reportedly seeing a bid of £19 million turned down my Parma last week, the two clubs have settled on a deal after Milan agreed to pay the Gialloblu’s share of a special clause. The clause meant that if the player was sold for more than £14 million they would have to pay Gilardino a bonus payment of £1.4 million. The Rossoneri are set to pay that and hand Parma £18.6 million, with Gilardino signing a five-year deal. Goal.com |

The deal might be near but the cheerful optimism of the press seems bizarre. Especially when the player has said:
"I have not signed with Milan." I have faith though... Alberto Gilardino says he will join no other club apart from Milan this summer - or remain at Parma until the end of his contract. The player made the shock announcement in a statement this evening, after dismissing widespread speculation that his proposed transfer to the Rossoneri was now a done deal. "I have a contract with Parma until June 2007 which I am ready to respect," said the Italian international. "They will make the final decision but I have indicated from the very start that I want to join Milan, after taking into consideration the characteristics of the players they have there. "Negotiations between the two clubs have dragged on and I, like everybody else, am waiting for news regarding my future. "Parma have always maintained that they would satisfy my requests which today becomes explicit by excluding any other options which I considered until the end of my holiday. "The alternative for me now is to stay at Parma until the natural conclusion of my contract. I have not signed for Milan." Reports this morning claimed that a £20m deal had been agreed in principal, but Gilardino’s comments make that rumour highly unlikely. Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi and Parma transfer chief Oreste Cinquini also claimed today that nothing had been decided. One of Gilardino’s agents, Francesco Romano, added that no progress had been made between the two clubs recently. "I have nothing more to add to what Milan have already said – the clubs are still distant," Romano noted. "Milan have said it and so has Cinquini. There have been no significant phone calls and nothing new to report over the last few days. "Hopefully we can sit round a table from Monday onwards to start talks again. This is possible." |
