Not fully for it or fully against it. The surprising thing to me is how Berlusconi is on a spending spree since late August, it be might the case of "it's because he needed to do it, the team needs it" but it is still shocking, even if some the players are coming at a relative discount it is still kind of shocking.

looks like we bought cassano too, and reza berlu did say when one player leaves another will come in. its a rebuilding stage, it happens in football you could say.. imo he is right though in doing so, the weird part is he seems do be doing it all at once. inter prime example - over 3 years they built there team up then it won the treble. most big clubs do it little at a time, im just guessing cause it looks like a cycle with most big clubs. plus all this time not spending he must have something saved upp.. i think cassano is a good addition. hopefully he wont prove me wrong but i really like this player alot. cassano robinho ronaldinho pato ibra. that is what you call a dressing room brawl. hopefully cassano doesnt open his mouth to ibra or he may not play the same again:P anyways just being sarcastic the environment at our club seems to be all good other then that little ibra-strasser saga.. lol
david luiz and cassano for this transfer market would be a dream come true.. any defensive addition to add onto the cassano purchase would be great.. then we could probably start talking about CL too, im hoping we make it to the semi final. if we make it to the semi final and win the schudetto we will definitely be considered a big threat around europe again ![]() Last edited by MilanMikey; 16-12-2010 at 23:23. |

You are right, but the one coming in could be cheaper than Cassano (and others), can't it? I think up to August the majority of us expected cheaper replacements.

![]() However, Galliani managed to jump in the middle of 3 absolute tragedies of a relationship (Ibrahimovic-Barca, Robinho-Man City, Cassano-Sampdoria) and get them for Pennies on the Dollar! It's absolutely amazing. I'm very impressed with his work, and how he came in and obviously beat many other teams to the punch. However, having said that, I don't want to seem too excited here. Cassano is a Second Striker (better than Ronaldinho), but not an ACM, and he's a huge dressing room liability. Now, I'm not saying he will be at Milan, but history says otherwise, and NO ONE can deny that. The good news, is that even if Cassano doesn't do what we need, it can't be ANY WORSE than what we're getting from Ronaldinho, and we can immediately sell Cassano in the summer for €12-20 Million (to Man City for €50Million)....and make a huge profit, at the same time lowering the wage bill by selling Ronaldinho. We would then be able to make a move for Ganso, Luiz, Coentrao, whoever we wanted, with "House Money" so to speak. but Please, I beg someone to confirm what we paid Sampdoria for Cassano. This is very important. |

Other news:
Moggi: "Cassano will disrupt the balance at Milan" An Italian expert says that Milan are going very strong on Lazzari now. I'm still hoping that Cassano doesn't sign... Cassano means no Ganso. Cassano means no dynamic trequartista. Cassano could mean Pato is off in the summer too. People that are happy about this are not thinking in the long-term. I am not saying Cassano will disrupt the balance or cause problems, no not at all, I'm just saying that we already seem to have a carbon copy of Cassano that is younger and more hard working in Robinho. It is interesting to note though that how we moved from Borriello (not even on Italy bench), Huntelaar (Netherlands bench last year), Inzaghi (not on bench), Pato (not in brazil squad) to Robinho (brazil's captain and example), Ibra (Sweden's best player and hope), Pato (key member to brazil) and now Cassano (Italy's best player). Don't get me wrong, I love Cassano and would start him 100% of the times for Italy....but I haven't seen Milan so well like they are under Allegri and I wouldn't sacrifice that for any player at the moment. It just seems to me that Cassano is not the ideal player that Allegri wants but he WAS there at that meeting last night with Galliani and Cassano, so I guess after talking to Cassano about what he plans for him they were both happy. |

No can do, mate. The winter mercato hasn't technically started yet, so buying players or even announcing the purchase of other team's players beforehand is just against the rules (not sure about this though) and etiquet. Technically, he can't even sign for us yet, so all we have is news of an "agreement" to buy. That said, I still don't like the idea of Cassano in Milan. He's been to big clubs and small clubs and his attitude has never changed once. He may stay quiet a while, but he always goes back to being bad. And whilst we have a reputation of reforming big-ego players, I don't think adding another ego to a club full of reformed egos is gonna help. At the beginning of the season, Ibra had a huge fight with Oguchi in training, this was when we were going through a rough patch and nowhere near the top of the table. Things always seem good when you're winning and leading the pack. When things don't go as planned, thats when all the problems come out. We don't really need another potential problem on our bench this season, even though its been a great season so far.

Cassano and Pato are 2 different player, Cassano is more assist man just like what Ronaldinho was for us in the last seasons while Pato is a more finisher, match winner. if Cassano comes, it doesnt mean that Pato will leave if you ask me. Ronaldinho will leave and Cassano will replace him...
Cassano-ibra and Pato can only co exist on 4-3-3 formation which is not liked by Allegri. if we plan to play with 4-3-1-2, we had better to sign Honda or Ganso instead Cassano... |

CMIIW but to my knowledge we can sign/announce new player at any time of the season. But we can only register the player (thus allowing him to play) when the mercato is officially opened.
I couldn't find the news reporting Allegri took part in a meeting with Cassano but it's a good idea to make it clear at the outset about his role in the team. Anyway Galliani said that Pippo will continue to play with us next season. That means if the reports about Cassano coming to us are true, we're pretty much covered upfront.

No spending, just a big salary leaving, replaced by a "normal" one. Quote:

You can deal with a club and sign a pre-contract whenever you want, then the player comes on the first day of the mercato.

but do we think what Cassano did this time was really all that bad? Garrone made the situation worse with Cassano in honesty.

I agree with Hitman, we really don't need Cassano, he's a great player but he's very similar in characteristics to Robinho. He also has a terrible history of acting up and being in first place, I wouldn't want to take that risk.
The only reason for liking this deal is that Ronaldinho is gone, someone better will replace him for 1/3 the salary. Then, Cassano could technically get sold in the Summer for MANY millions more than he was acquired for, thus making it an investment as opposed to a long term signing. As of now, Galliani has said NO DEAL. http://www.goal.com/en/news/1716/cha...ant-afford-him Galliani: "Milan refuses to pay Real Madrid €5 Million" thus Milan wants Cassano for FREE. I would like Honda/Ganso as opposed to another forward, and now we're told Inzaghi is coming back. Therefore, a "Trequartista" is the need of the team, not another SS. If anything a penalty box striker. Last edited by Elmago99; 17-12-2010 at 08:35. |

But Cassano is proven player in Seria A and Ganso or Honda are not......we dont that they would quickly adjust in Seria.......I think that Allegri can play like this...
-----Ibra----Ronbhio(pato)--- --------Cassano--------- --Ambro----Princ----Flamini--- Whether it is eligible to Cassano play in CL???? |
