Latest news says that he was suffering from a depression because of some family problems.
Most probably he tried to commit a suicide. I feel very sorry for him and wish him a full recovery as soon as possible. |

And if you thought there is an end of the human stupidity, then you should know that some Juve fans allready made a conspiracy about Berlusconi being behind this "attempt for murder " !!!

Hopefully, Pessotto will recover soon and thankfully it seems his life is not in danger. He was in the Milan youth setup in the 80s.

It is always sad to hear the news of this sort. In early 90s, Fortunato died of cancer. Was he also a Juventus player? Pessotto came out of Milan youth academy, and had provided great services for Juventus in the past 11 years. Let's wish that he has a sound and speedy recovery.

Fotunanto died while he was 24. IMO it was 1994 or 1995. At that time he was Juve player. This tragedy effected me so profoudly that I still recall the article which I read about his death.

He was only 23. Just got this off the Wikipedia. Sad indeed...
![]() ----------- Andrea Fortunato (Salerno, July 26, 1971 – Perugia, April 25, 1995) was an Italian football player who played as a left-back for Juventus and the Italian national team. He signed for the Old Lady from Genoa in summer of 1993, and such was his impression at Juventus that Arrigo Sacchi, head coach of the Italian team during that period, gave him a cap for the national team. In May 1994, he had been diagnosed a form of leukemia. He died in 1995 because of pneumonia, just a few days after he received a bone graft from his brother. His death is still fresh in the minds of Juventus' fans who fondly remember him for his tireless running and fine left footed delivery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_Fortunato

The owner of Internazionale, Massimo Moratti, has threatened to take the club abroad if any of the Serie A clubs found guilty of sporting fraud are not properly punished.
http://www.goal.com/en/articolo.aspx?contenutoId=82509 An interesting threat, but is something like that even possible? He could moove to the Swiss league, and win a dozen consecutive Championships.. Sorry about Pessoto, it's a sad thing. |

My best wishes for a speedy recovery for Pessotto, and for his wife and family to get thru this sad time.
I have an intresting conspiracy therory about this "accident" that, believe it or not, has nothing to do with Berlu...and it goes a little something like this: Pessotto, newly appointed Managing Director of Juve, is called to a meeting with some "good-fellas", who announce that Juve will be promoted at the end of the upcoming season, by "any" means necessary. Pessotto is completely shocked by this, and based on whom he is meeting, of course, accepts this course of action... He either: a) Goes back on his word, informs these "fellows" of his decision, and they ask him to step outside for a minute, forgetting to tell the poor chap that he is going to take the "short cut" from the top floor to the parking lot. b) Decides that he will not be party to such "finagling", which has already cost his dear club so much, and then opts out of his management contract via the quickest way possible for him...while preventing any reprocussions for his immediate family. Then, his wife comes up with a possible alibi: Depression...but its too convenient for me. Now, let me hasten to add that I am in no way making light of this tragedy. I am just outlining what I currently think is the real motive behind this sad episode. It maybe that I have been reading entirely too much literature on Italy, and Italian football...for my own good...but this issue smells really really fishy....at least to me. And to any who will chose to query my theory re version (a) above, by saying:..Wouldnt anyone report to the police that he had met with some chaps shortly before his "accident"? Well...my simple answer would be: NO. I for sure wouldnt be about to tell the coppers anything about some men that I "didnt" see, so that I could see another year of sunshine, and not get fitted with concrete predators...(or should they be concrete nikes? Since the swoosh sponsers Juve?) Thats my theory, and one I will continue to believe until there is unequivacal, concrete (sorry to use this word again), irrevocable proof that there was nothing underhanded about this "Suicide attempt". As for Moratti´s verbal diahorrea, just more of the same crap from a born loser. Inter would still finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th if they played in the Swiss league...believe that! And no, its not possible, as none of the FAs, nor UEFA would sanction anything of the sort...plus, as far as I know, there is no precedent.
