I just wanted to be the first to say that I feel for you being knocked out of the CL. I know I would have been devestated.

Better luck next year, you have a squad to build on.
Much appreciated mate

To be honest though the one thing i feel more than any other is relief, hopefully it'll be at least a decade before the 2 sides meet again

The game confirmed a lot of things, Utd are better now than the side that Porto put out last year but still have some way to go to match the real elite sides of Europe. Carolls blunder was the single most decisive moment of the tie but to focus on it would be papering over the cracks, Milan dominated possession, not only keeping the ball but using it better too. I said at the start of the season that Milan still had the edge over Chelsea and Barca and i think its still the case now

And I hate to admit but, Chelsea played a blinder. And for some reason, it was very satisfying to see Ronaldinho acting like a sore loser after the match.
I actually laughed at Lampard reminding the Barca players that his boring side just scored 4 past them Much as i dislike what Chelsea stand for i do actually like some of their players, Terry is a leader in the Keane/Maldini mould (and a Utd fan too ) and i was glad it was him who scored the winner.

Uefa are a bunch of muppets anyway.

Personally, I think our pre-70s badge looks the best. I've never really liked the tacky devil on the badge.

This is what it looks like:

The three stripes stand for the three rivers that run through Manchester, Irwell, Irk and Medlock, I think. And the little ship above them signifies Manchester's trading history via their ship canal.

It was developed from the City of Manchester's coat of arms. which has a similar but more elaborate pattern on its shield.

The ship is definately there to symbolise the ship canal, i've never really looked into the old stripes so i'll have to take your word on that

Good win against Southampton on Saturday, ruud didnt score again but he is definately getting sharper now and had a big role in 3 of the goals

Newcastle in the next round will be tough but we should go through to the final for a likely clash against Arsenal. They'll be desperate for revenge after the 3 victories we've collected over them this year

Ruud got tired very soon. I never seen him so weary. Even he created some chances which ended by goal, though he was walking all the time in the second half. It was weird to see him not chasing defenders with ball.

Some things I would like to say about manU fans..

The matchday milan-manU..tho whole day I was among the manU fans(because of my manUfan freinds )..they completely occupied the center of Milano and cheerd all day..They weren't looking for trouble(well, most of them didn't..)..but when the match started they got loud only 3 or 4 times !? Like they weren't there..yes, manU didn't play good, but that was some kind of antipropaganda of supporting your beloved club.

I also noticed there were more older people among them, then for example milan fans..is that common in england or these fellows have the money an can afford the trip more than young ones?

Other than that, I had only good experiences with them..

I wish I could dome there with you also... I bet you had supreme night...
off topic:
...even I am a supreme die hard football fan - I have never been to real match of my beloved foreign team . Everything hits to money. No money no possibility to travel with your team. No satisfaction after victories [or not so satisfied in fornt of TV or even sitting in fornt of your computer]. I mean my situation is almost the worst as it can be. My country, though is in Europe, do not broadcast football matches. It sux. I hate it. Although I have decided to visit Italia this summer in order to see Milano and it's treasures This might be the first time I touch the things I adore so much. I really envy you guys who can come to stadiun every month or even on UCL matches.

It's the 2nd time I've ever been to a milan match in Milano..
in 2000. Milan were in Zagreb playing against Dinamo Zagreb i qualificationes for CL, and I was also there..

Yeah, money money..I payed the ticket 40 euros, and 2 days spent in Milano costed me around 170 euros..but it really payed off..

Rae, I wish you to come to the San Siro soon, and I know you would enjoyed it among manU fans..
cheers..

I would enjoy it anywhere - between Milan fans or MUFC, it does not matter much

Yeah, it may not be until the start of next season that we see him back to 100% i think he is improving though he can be useful even without moving too much because he is the main attraction for defenders, Southampton were so busy trying to contain Ruud and Rooney that they forgot about the midfielders

I could hear them quite well on TV but i recognise the songs which helps. That said Utd does tend to have 2 types of European support. As you noted there were quite a few older fans here and from what i've heard thats usually the case when Utd play glamour clubs in nice cities (Milan, Madrid etc) these fans are passionate in their own way but they tend not to be loud. Utds core away support (the ones who visit every ground no matter who we're playing) will have been there but will have been diluted by the rest.

...
but still Ruud doesn't know how to score.. everytime he shoots the ball just too weak or even misses the target. I still believe that he will be back to his peak performance.

Steza, are you going to rumble to Cardiff??

Yeah, really, we are called a club who has the best away support everyehere we come , though I chew up about the silence Oscar has told us earlier. Were they really so polite and quite? IMo it can not be concidering the support the greatest club in Britain - MUFC!!!

Stez, do you really take a trip to Wales?
