I don't think anyone will want to splash out the 15 million Sensi is asking when Cassano will be available for free in 6 months, it's simply not good business in my opinion.

Roma have apparently valued him at £12, which I guess isn't that bad a price. If we get him, I just hope we can help focus his attitude problems into his game rather than have it disrupting our squad.

ps - sorry, but I don't remember the source on the price

The point is we don't need another striker. Hope pippo is doing well with his recovery programme. The arrival of oddo is more welcoming as we need cover on that area.

What some of us are missing is that Roma will try to get money for him now, rather than nothing later.

As far as I know he still hasnt signed Roma“s improved offer...so...unless he backtracks, and signs the contract extention with the Roman outfit, he will be sold...and why not to Milan?

He is good enough a player to play in Rui or Kaka“s position..but the trouble is, he wont be guaranteed a starting place, but he can and probably will be sent to the reserves or primavera team the minute he shows any petulance with regard to not having an automatic start.

Chelsea has been quiet, and with their aquisition of Essien, they claim their transfer season is over. Who else is there, apart from Inter (who really are in a similar position to us, ie they dont have any space for him)?

We could, as has been suggested, buy him now, and loan him back to Roma until season“s end...

All in all, dont care if he comes, but I do care where he goes....would hate to see him strengthen our rivals, so I hope if he doesnt come to us, that he leaves Italy, but in a World Cup year, I doubt he will want to do that...and meazza his wages and signing on fee would be somthing Berlu would be aware of, and as such, shouldnt concern us, as Berlu can more than afford it, even if AC Milan as a club cant.

martin is an unknown quantity at this point
we do have space for cassano. if he came i think our mid n atack wud look like this:
gattusso(ambro)-----pirlo(rui,vogel)--------serginho(seedrof)
---------------------kaka(cassano)------------------------
-----------sheva(vieri)---------------gila(pippo)------------
this way cassano can challenge kaka n make kaka work hard. also with these players carlo can surely use more rotation considering that cassano-vieri-pippo wud b the replacements.

We have a space for everyone, it is just a question of on the pitch or the bench.. Kidding..

Seriously, with so many super stars packed in the same department, there is bound to be tension, healthy or not. Some can take it well, some may not.

However, if Cassano does come, I will be very happy. I will be even happier if he can drop his big and bad ego and become a team player. We will then just leave the headache to Ancelotti.

My argument, martin, was that we dont have an automatic starting berth for him...as far as I can recollect, he doesnt do much tackling, so he (as you pointed out) would be fighting for a place with Kaka or Rui...not with any of the other midfielders...

Would he be happy sitting out some games..or rather most games..? Kaka kept Rui Costa on the bench for months...do you think it would be any different for Cassano?

I.M.O.“s post:

is not a bad idea, but waaaaay too attacking for Serie A, and Carlo in particular. Also, it would mean Pirlo giving way to Ambrosini, as the only midfielder capable of breaking up attacks and tackling in that line up would be Rino...and we all know that Pirlo is "irreplaceable"

If we went with a 3-4-1-2, then maybe he could be worked into the team:

..Stam...Nesta...Maldini/Kaladze

Cafu...Rino...Pirlo...Cassano/Serghino/Jankulovski

.........Kaka...........

.....Gila....Sheva.....

But with the 4-3-1-2 formation, I dont see him fitting into the starting lineup at all.

It is at least one year too early for us to get Cassano. If, God forbid, Sheva is sold next summer Cassano would be a great replacement. If in two years Pippo and Vieri retire, but Sheva remains, Cassano would be a great replacement.

If we get him know, and as he is not a bench player, we would pretty much have to play 4-2-3-1, with Cassano, Sheva and Kaka supporting Gila or Vieri. I just doubt that it will happen this year.

As much as i admire cassano, and i dont think there would be any problems regarding his behavior in milan.... we just cant use him this year! kaka is THE BEST in his position.
Sheva and gila will play in first 11 and vieri is first option from the bench. Maybe next year, if we sell pippo and vieri just getting his last year at milan, cassano would be first replacement. But, if we get cassano now.... im afraid we will look like Barca or Real M. And that is just awfull!! On the other hand, if he joing juve ( and he will...) juve will be just TOO strong! Moggi and Berlusconi have it all sorted out, we just have to wait. But still, i think we have some defensive problems we have to work on... out attack is more than fine!

Cassano is a hard one......do we really need him? depends how well pippo comes back form his injury...i dont think milan want to go through another season with only 3 strikers.....the thing with cassano is if he is avalable, you have to take him....if he joined inter or juve, real or chelski then i wouldnt be happy.....the only options that would make me happy is if he stayed at roma joined milan...as simple as that.....

its a hard decision for milan to make.....for starters his attitude is well documented..so how happy would he be siting on the bench for some games...but being in milan could possibly 'fix' his attitude...it would also allow us to rotate the front two with greater confidence....cassano-gila, gila-sheva, sheva-cassano, vieri-gila, vieri-cassano, vieri-sheva....ah well, i am guessing that milan will wait till the final days in august to make a decision, depending on how pippo pulls up...

if i had to choose though, i say get him.....
