that will unsettle the ballance of the whole midfield. The only way not to turn into a brittle Real M-like side is to play with only one player like Kaka, Aimar, or Riquelme + 2 strikers. or you could have Kaka + Riquelme/Aimar + only 1 striker (X-tree). With two attacking midfielders we would be too exposed at the back as none of them is too keen to fight for the ball.
I am not saying that vs smaller teams that defend with 10 men it won't work, but most of the time two playmakers would be too risky of an affair, especially against goot teams that are well organized.

and even with small teams, you know how much trouble we have had against Lecce, Chievo, Treviso, etc.

Forget about that for UCL matches... that'd be for exhibition games...

Does anybody in Milan current team/technical staff speak French?

We need to transform the "Rouge et Noir", into "Rosso-Nero"...

I think Seedorf speaks a little, or maybe more than just a little, French.

Excellent news indeed!! It is great to actually be signing a prospect for the future. i dont think he should be loaned out. We should be patient with him and give him some chances to come on and show what he's worth. I wouldn't be surprised if he were to make an impact in his first year with us. From the little I've seen of him, Ive been quite impressed.

Welcome Yoann Gourcuff!

Now, how do you pronounce his name exactly?

Too bad that he's with Barca which is for sure won't let him go to Milan...

I fully agree: the best way to develop the boy's talent is to allow him to play with us.

I haven't seen any official news about him, not on Channel4 website or AC Milan.com.

How true is this news?

This is the complete news on www.channel4.com :

Gourcuff pens Milan deal Thursday 22 June, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Italian giants Milan have confirmed the expected capture of Rennes starlet Yohann Gourcuff.

The Rossoneri have released a statement noting that the Frenchman has penned a contract until June 30, 2011.

Gourcuff, a highly-rated midfielder, was born in Lorient on July 11, 1986, and had played 36 games for the Ligue 1 outfit.

No financial details of the transfer have been revealed, but it is thought that Milan paid around £2.5m for the player who only had a year left on his previous contract.

Milan had been chasing Gourcuff for the last few months and Rennes President Emmanuel Cueff did recently confirm an approach.

“We have received an official offer from Milan which we are evaluating, but we would like to keep him here on loan for a season,” he stated.

Although Gourcuff is now likely to be loaned out to gain experience, it seems unlikely that he will return to Rennes for the 2006-07 campaign.

unquote.

And now....whoelse would be coming..???

Gallas....hopefully Torres or Messi....or even Tevez would be Ok rather than nobody else....

I personally don't agree, as the two play different roles. I think Messi has a more creative role than Tevez, but Tevez's movement off the ball impresses more than Messi at this point. Messi is a more technically accomplished player than Tevez (something which can be improved at Milan) imo.

There's mention of Riquelme in this thread, but I'm pretty certain Milan aren't interested in him (and rightly so imo) as Leonardo has said time and time again that he's not that impressed by Riquelme.

Finally, getting back to topic, I will be a little surprised if Gourcuff stays at Milan next season, as he's still very young and will end up with quite a lot of bench time unless he's something incredibly special (possibly even more than Kaka). Instead, I realistically think he'll be loaned out to gain further experience playing regularly elsewhere.
