face it Gila is crap. He was second fiddle to Adriano in Parma and his loss in form has coincided with Adriano's as well. Look at what Inter have done t get more striking production: they have been using Crespo and Cruz: both over 30 and bost don't have as bright a future a head of them as Adriano might.

But the issue is that while it is the duty of the club to nurture its players it is more important to get results and this piece of crap aka Alberto Gilardino cannot produce. The solution? I'd play Pippo-Olivera until January. Then I'd buy a superstriker like Ronaldo and another "up-and commer" and make them all fight for a spot. Someone is bound to come out on top (I'm guessing it won't be Boriello ) and the goals will flow again.

From my observation Gila neds a clear cut chance to score. He cannot create and he isn't as opportunistic as a box striker should be.

what do you mean gettin' the result except against Palermo? a draw is not enough considerin' the quality of our team & that of the opponents... those are games which we should have won at the very least...

i'm not sayin' Oliveira or Inzaghi are better players... i am sayin' that they have proven themselves so far with goals... and you cannot deny them a chance to start simply because Gilardino is off-form & needs time on the pitch to get back his form...

as for the Shevchenko's scenario... Chelsea is still winnin'... and Mourinho has that extra benefit of fieldin' him despite him not at all playin' good... simply because he doesn't want to change too much a winnin' team/formula as it is provin' to be effective... Milan hasn't been that effective thus the need to consider other options...

i'm not too concerned with what others have said about him about his past performances last season... but i am concerned with his current form this season... what the other members bring up about Gilardino shouldn't be affectin' your opinion on my views... rather you should handle it on a case-by-case perception... and base your opinions on my comments solely on what i said & not what they say and than go about feelin' touchy & gettin' personal... what they said do no involve me... why am i takin' the blame for their opinions?

why is there a discussion on Seedorf? he isn't to blame for Gilardino missin' his own chances... but i will not go into that too much since it is slightly off-topic... and the team bein' supportive of Gilardino doesn't mean that morale cannot be low... morale is low because we are not performin' or gettin' positive results & that pressure is mountin' on them to deliver... and Gilardino has played his part in our low morale...

i do not blame Gilardino solely for Milan's inconsistency... but he is playin' a big part in our current situation... and amongst the players you named... they have 1 time or other delivered for Milan this season... and that is why i am holdin' back on comments about them...

the team now do not need other distractions brought about by Gilardino's poor form... and it is affectin' them... and it is not ironic that i claim it is for the good of the team... i will not go on about this since both our opinions vary & a conclusion will not be imminent...

about comments of Milan winnin' easily & Gilardino not scorin'... what i meant is i can close my eye on his performances & let it slide by... not about the team bein' effective as a whole & winnin'...

the strikers hasn't been scorin'... but some have scored this season... and since they were able to step up time to time this season... they should warrant their place in the first eleven ahead of Gilardino...

accordin' to my case? my case is not about not fieldin' any striker... you have gone ahead of yourself in readin' too much into it... my case is about fieldin' the best options in their respective places... we have 4 strikers... 2 hasn't scored yet... 2 has... so the 2 that has scored should start... likewise for other positions...

i think i've addressed all that you mentioned... many of which is mis-interpreted by you... and i will take time out for awhile now after spendin' more than what i had planned for... i will get back once i have time...

@ rahul.acm...

yes... Milan is a team... but if there is a hole in the boat & the boat is sinkin'... solution is to patch back that hole back in the appropreciate manner... not just sayin' the hole is still small & will not cause any problem... & wait till the hole gets bigger & the boat cannot function... & disaster strikes...

it is not Gilardino's problem? and how is it Shevchenko's problem if Gilardino doesn't score than? Gilardino has started many games so far with or without Oliveira... and he hasn't scored... even last season's CL (and is Shevchenko to blame too?) you make rather odd analysis... so everytime Gilardino doesn't score of perform... his strike partner is to blame while he himself is free from any fault?

i am calm... i don't understand why people gets the impression i'm angry or frustrated... because i am not... i'm just reflectin' on the situation... which isn't exactly all that pretty & nice... and i am bein' honest about it...

well... so i am not capable enough to be a coach... and just because you agree with the professional coaches & that makes you more capable than me? i don't get your point... you mean that all the members here are professional coaches? or are at least qualified to be one? and that is the requirement needed to make a post here? so you must be a professional coach yourself? cool... what club are you in charge of? are they playin' beautiful & effective football?

surely you can come up with somethin' better other than makin' such a futile & feeble personal attack... i don't get many people here... why is there a need to make personal insults just to get a point across? you mean you cannot have a discussion without doin' so?

Gila has to play with Oliviera in order to function the way he is supposed to! They haven't even played 150 minutes together which is not enough for a partnership to work with a completely new player. If he is playing with Oliviera and not scoring then he has to be blamed provided Oliviera and other midfielders provide good service.

You are criticizing Gila If you were right we would have sent him to his village just like Adriano before selling him or rumors would have started to come up that we are going to sell him or benched him or not even have extended his contract in his time of despair. I never claimed that I RULE but our management is doing what you want them to do and that might be selling him or benching him or ...whatever

Its about getting the point straight so that the undue criticism Gila is facing STOPS untill there is really a fault in him which has been noticed. I did not mean to hurt you so I am sorry If I did which wasn't my intention because I do not know what is your boiling point or you get pissed quite before others do. Cheers

Zz...you keep mentioning that Inzaghi and Oliveira have proved themselves by scoring. That makes sence when talking about Inzaghi....but Oliveira? He scored 1 goal.......and it is a little funny that you keep mentioning that he has proven himself by scoring 1 goal. As a matter of fact......watch the game against Palermo, Anderlecht and Sampdoria and you will see Inzaghi missing at least 3 sitters. Two of them as a matter of fact embarresing diving headers that went unbeliavably wide and high. So please don't say that it is not pleasant to watch Gila miss sitters because it is certainly unpleasant when we see everyone miss sitters....but you don't want to mention those. As always however........you didn't blame the dissapointing results on anyone else but Gilardino.

None of the forwards are scoring....and yes Inzaghi scored in the beggining of the season and Oliveira scored one after 7 mins on the field, something he hasnt done since. You mention about how you are only warried about the present but what you are failing to realize is that to find a striker on the scoreboard you have to look more then a month back. Yes, you are right that people that score should start......but the problem is nobody is scoring. And please don't tell me that they DID score because that was a long time when they scored. In fact....the last time a forward of ours scored was on September 13th against AEK so what makes everyone else so much better then Gila. That is something I don't understand. Nobody has said anything bad about Oliveira or Inzaghi which is really unfair towards Gila and that is why people are starting to think that you dislike Gila. Maybe it isn't true and I belive when you say that you don't dislike him and you only want the better for the team....however it is hard to believe that for some people when you always attack ONLY him claiming that other forwards contribute......something which is obviously wrong since no1 has scored or assisted since September 13th.
Form can hit sky high in 6 weeks but it can also go horribly low. What makes you think that Inzaghi and Oliveira are still in from and should start because it is obvious that their form is nowhere to be found in the past 6 weeks. Inzaghi has as a matter of fact played 2 games more then Gila so there......that is justified as he does get his spot in front of Gila. Oliveira on the other hand has played less then Gilla but he was not a 100 percent untill recently and whenever on the field untill tonight, he never looked convincing to be clearly concidered in front of Gilardino.

Here is a little overview for after Milan-AEK.
Parma - Milan....free kick goal by Seedorf and a penalty for Kaka which was done over kaka himself.
Milan - Ascoli....Janku scores after a great pass/cross from Pirlo.
Livorno - Milan, Lille - Milan, Milan - Siena..all 0-0
Sampdoria - Milan...Kaladze scores in trafic in front of goal after a cross.
Anderlecht - Milan...Kaka scores a crazy shot.
Milan - Palermo...0-2
Milan - Chive...was today.
So no other forward scored or had an assist....so where is the contribution that you talk about?

Gilardino played with Shevchenko in last season's CL... and he hasn't scored... so you are claimin' Shevchenko is to blamed? it does sound that way from the way you insist that Shevchenko wasn't around to divert the defenders attention...

today he played with Oliveira & he was given a clear cut chance by Oliveira... GK beaten... empty net... 8 yards out... what does he do? so Oliveira is to be blamed for not dribblin' all the way till the goal-line & wait for Gilardino to tap into an empty net? or for the defenders to mysteriously fall down leavin' him a clear passage through to goal?

i am not criticizin' Gilardino... i am criticizin' his performances (or lack of)... and even if i am right... doesn't mean he would be sent off to a village like Adriano or sold... totally missed your point on that and what follows...

undue criticism? interestin'... maybe the ball is to be faulted as bein' too light... that's why he blasted the ball high into the crowd... under no pressure with an empty net starin' infront of him...

so it is not Gilardino's fault he missed that chance? isn't it an unwritten truth that you must keep your shot on target if you want to score? maybe only you fail to notice that fault... at the least Borriello kept his shot on target in a more difficult angle...

you want to get the point across... i understand... but usin' insults like that will not do much good...

Thats what I was trying to say here as well, but people just dont want to hear. People, open up your eyes..Gila is not scoring not because of poor service, or somebodies selfishness. There is good service for him from many players, but he wastes it all. Noobody even marks him really, because other teams are not scared of him - he cant even score to undefended net. So what are we talking here about? Dont put service and partnership staff as a fault. Its not a fault of Sheva, Inzaghi, Oliveira, Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf, Cafu and all the rest of the players, that he cannot finish and make a goal.

@ nefremo...

if you read my other posts... i gave my reason why i'm holdin' back on the other players... because at least they have contributed somethin' so far... and i am bein' fair by givin' them more time to come good again... even when i do not comment on others doesn't mean they are not at fault one bit... i noted about the positives against Chievo & only gave credit to Janku & Dida... did you read me praisin' the rest? you shouldn't just read a few of my posts & immediately make an assumption... you should read all my posts throughout to make the assumption... and i believe you & many others have failed to read all my posts...

nobody said anythin' bad about Oliveira & Inzaghi? are you certain? because i have been readin' many bad comments in regards to both of them...

you claim i have been unfair to Gilardino... i fail to understand why... he is paid to do his job... he hasn't done it... and he is free from fault?

the contribution i talk about is within the scope of all the matches so far this season... includin' the dreaded CL qualifyin' rounds... and that is bein' fair... it is true that our performance hasn't been good & that Inzaghi & Oliveira hasn't scored for sometime... but i am givin' them the benefit of the doubt since they did come up good before... i am showin' them the patience you are showin' Gilardino...

however... Gilardino hasn't come good at all this season... not even once... and i don't see how that cannot be faulted on his shoulders alone...

Nobody is blaming the rest of the players for Gila's drought. Some people are jsut saying that Pippo - Gill doesn't work. And Egoistika...please tell me.......who of the forwards can score? Tell me who? If you want to know what point I am trying to make please scroll up and refer to my post. None of our forwards are scoring at the moment nor are performing good. Both Oliveira and Gila played good today and none of them scored but Gila is blasted. It seems you have forgotten the sitters Inzaghi missed in the last couple of games.

He had hit the bars on a couple of occasions but overall it was his fault in spite of having the comfort of Sheva and in form midfield but it was also his first season in UCL with a lot of expectation and as a result a lot of pressure. There was pressure on him because of his price tag. In champions league you face teams with completely different tactics from the usual Italian ones. There are much less games played and teams change after every game.

What happened today was a bad miss but when you are under immense pressure the goal appears to be lot smaller than it is. When you see an open goal you get excited (especially for some one like Gila who hasn't scored) then there is fear of winning/losing. He needs more time and less pressure and less criticism.

So wait untill he comes up with a performance and come up with a solution for him.

You can criticize him when there is no pressure on him of -8 points and becoming the premier striker of a big team with such a short notice.

The pressure and the hype that has been built up because of his poor performance is spoiling his game. Once it is off he will get well.

[rephrasing my point

Gila did not play good today...many missed opportunities and barrying 100 percent goal situations. He did, however, play better than usual (usually he is not noticable at all). And because today he played better than usual, everyone is saying that he played really good, singing serenades to him. Oh, triumph! No, he didn t play good. Oliveira did play good, Gila didnt. Oliveira have already scored one this season, Pippo scored several goals and Gila DID NOT SCORE EVEN ONE! That is why. Yes the whole team is down and playing really bad (except for Kaka and Dida - they are the reason to all the games we won or draw this season), but Gila is playing bad not starting from this season, but from the previous one. Inzaghi missed in the last couple of games and Gila is failing to score from the middle of the previous season.

All I hear from you is pressure, pressure, pressure on poor Gilardino! And what, there is no pressure on the rest of the guys? If Gilardino cannt cope with pressure than his place is definately not in the professional football. Professional football is all about the pressure on all the players and coaches and fans. As an example about fans pressure: if I am a fan and I feel pressure, because my team is losing every game, or going to Seria B or smth else like that, then what, I shouldnt watch the matches? No, the thing is that we cope with this pressure, and we continue watching the matches, and go to the stadiums, and shout, and support...we dont wait until the pressure ll dissapear, do we?
So if Gilardino cannot deal with pressure than he should leave professional football.

@ rahul.acm...

so he has pressure & face different tactics & what not... but if he was half as good as many of you insist he is... he should have come good by now... 14 CL games in a row without a goal... does that sound like the "World-Cup-winner-who-has-20-odd-goals-2-season-in-a-row-for-Parma-and-17-for-Milan-last-season" that you guys keep tryin' to bring up? fact is many players when under extreme pressure (some worst than that of Gilardino) delivers... and that makes them a top grade player... which sadly Gilardino is not...

lastly... if i wanted to fry you... i would have done so by now... anyway... my discussions with you is over... not because i am angry with you or anythin' of that sort... but rather because there will never be an end to all these... we are playin' table tennis now... i hit to you... you hit it back at me... and it will not stop... and so i lettin' go...

When did I make assumptions. I never made an assumption that you don't criticize anyone else......but those are nowhere near what you say about Gilardino. Yes....I know your reasons about why you are holding on other players and that is because they have contributed at one point. When was that point??.....6 weeks ago?? You are going to blast Gila for not scoring in 8-9 weeks but you won't blast Inzaghi and Oliveira for not scoring in 6 weeks. If that is an assumption...then it is a good one because it really makes no sence for you to blast one player and not the other when both of them are failing to deliver.

Even when you are not saying anything doesn't mean that the other are not at fault?....Then why don't you say something....Why do you have to say somethinga bout Gila then. My point is clear.....None of them are scoring and all of them are missing chances. They all deserve criticism, not only Gila.

Yes...I am certain that nobody said anything about Pippo and Oli in the same way that they did about Gila. People said some stuff...but it can't even be compared to Gilardino's blasts.

Yes....I claim you have been unfair of Gila and I stand by that. You are right...he is not doing his job but neither are Oli and Pippo. Again.....please don't tell me that they contributed at some point which happens to be 6 weeks ago.

By the way....he wasn't given a clear cut chance by Oliveira. Maybe you should go watch that again. Oliveira was given a CLEAR CUT chance by Seedorf which Oliveira shot and the keeper saved. The ball bounced to Gila who missed as well. Here is a clear example of how you are not being fair and you only criticize Gila. Why don't you criticize Oliveira for missing the shot as well.

Seedorf form has gone down. Inzaghi has played more minutes than any of our striker and his performance in Serie A is not good either. Gila is being targeted by press and fans

Gila has played in 4 out of 6 matches, there are 32 matches ahead. He will strike soon. This sort of pressure is getting too much for him because he is sole blamed for our attack's display without any criticism towards Pippo or Oli who should have more pressure because he was bought as a replacement for sheva. If you feel the pressure the best you can do is encourage our players with faith and hope that way you can definitely avoid relegation and also win trophies. The more you criticize the more press will screw him because the press depends upon our reaction to know what has to be printed and what not.

This pressure is waay to much for him to handle. Every player comes across such situations which are career threatening and I very sure that with Milan he will overcome this moment and get back to his best.

Ok Imagine this, we sell to a big club and he starts scoring back and our performance will go down further.

How?

Ans. We will buy a new striker who will take another 3 or 4 months to settle and the same story will continue.

---------------------------------------------
Gosh I am tired of writing 'pressure'!
-----------------------------------------------
What do you do when you have pressure on you of getting things done or whatever. Do you panic or stay calm and decide the future? Form is temporary, class is permanent; Gila is class.
