In Italy the coach often doesn't have much say in which players are bought, and usually at most only make suggestions as to what players the club needs. Then the management (Galliani, Braida and Berlu in our case) decide which player is the best to go for.
So do they decide which player is best to go for from a list that the coach has prepared or the best form their point of view?

I suppose its the way to go because it's them throwing down the bills, but they should go with carlos word more often

A bit of both. Obviously as the manager, Carlo has a say in transfers, but the management will always have the final say, and sometimes that may not be in tune with what Carlo wants, who then has to work with what he's given. However, I think Carlo has the respect and will often have the type of player he requests (Emerson for example). On the other hand, there's always the possibility the higher management have their own choices, like R10, who I doubt Carlo requested, but someone Berlu seems to want desperately.

It's totally different to England, where the manager is usually given an allocated sum of money to spend on what they feel will improve the squad.

Carlo has a pretty strong say these days imo, I think this summer's transfer campaign has shown that (Ancelotti made it clear he specifically wanted Pato and Emerson).

Yeah, I'd like ribery but i'd put at least 10 players ahead of him.

Yes, he probably did want Ribery, but management probably said no to that one, which considering the price and the fact we're really trying to give Gourcuff a fair chance, makes sense.

Couldnt agree with you more...as good as Ribery is, it would be a slap in Gorkys face were we to bring in another player to start ahead of him...

He deserves a chance....
