P.S. on second thought, Dasayev did form a good relationship with MvB years ago so the conspiracy theorists may well have a reason

The group really reminds of 2004-2005, when we had again Celtic and Shakhtar, but this time Benfica instead of Barcelona as the team from pot 2. And that's normal since Barca now was in pot 1. That's the result for having the highest coef. Every year the group look easier and easier

And of copurse, I hope Rui Costa will be healthy enough to see him again on the pitch of "San Siro" and I hope he will recieve the applauds he deserve.

This year's groups look so easy because Bayern and Juve aren't in CL.
If Juve and Bayern were there (with the coefficients from 1 years ago, before Calciopoli) then Juve would have been in pot1, Bayern and Chelsea would have been in pot2 instead of Benfica and Werder and these 2 teams (Benfica and Werder) would have been in pot3.
That way the groups would have been much tougher, imo !

I won't ... and given that there is Zenit too, I wouldn't be surprised if there is also FC Jupiter and AC Mars in the lower Russian leagues

I actually do like the group... Celtic can, perhaps, prove to be a tough nut to crack, just like they did last year though... As long as our boys do not underestimate the 3 opponents, I think we should have no problem cruising past the group stage comfortably..

I'm glad we're facing Celtic, those guys and their fans are pure class...

and the chance to have Rui Costa back home for a day...

I've got to say we haven't been handed too much of a tricky group (though that's what we thought last year). Nice to see some of your players be awarded too. I had a feeling that Maldini would at long last be chosen, Seedorf for his improvements last year and Kaka ... for being Kaka!
