He played on a winning team all his life. ManU, that cannot prove anything. I know that he had won a lot of silverware with ManU, but he did not made ManU strong. THat is important. A true star help their team to be stronger, like Baggio, he has no one in Brecisca, but Brescia got to stay in Series A b/c of him. Rui Costa and Battigol together helped Fio to be one of the better team in Italy.
Maradona singlehandedly made football history with Argentina and Napoli. Can you say that about Beckham?? I don't think so.
Sheva helped Kiev to be the top of their leagues and advance to the latter stage of CL by himself.
Rivaldo saved Barcelona butt time after time when the past few seasons.
Even Totti saves his team Roma from destruction this season.
Can you say that about Beckham?
The person who saves ManU time after time is no other than Giggs and sometime Keane not Backham.

Sure you can say that Beckham's free kicks save ManU all the time, but you have to first ask yourself, who got him those free kicks?

i strongly suggest that we have to sign this player from ajax. he is amazing and from what i have seen he is a similar kind of player to that of aimar. we have had a strong dutch tradition for the past 10 years or so... the dutch players which we have signed were all succesful and im sure he will be another success story if we could sign him

he is quick and very mobile, similar to aimar of valencia and emre of inter, he assists well and even scores goals... if we need someone to add more flair in the game, we have to get him before other top clubs do... i really dont want to see him go to inter or juventus or any other italian club

And surely VanderVaart is a great player. His left foot is simply terrific. His skills are amazing. But it's too soon to compare him with Aimar He's still young and has to mature, and we don't know yet how he can cope with the pressure of a big league, as defense in the Dutch competition ain't pretty strong :p Another problem is his fitness :s He has been injured a lot lately. I hope it's not a muscular problem

Yes, He will be a great star to come but currently, we are overloaded in the midfield and it will not make nay sense if we buy Van Der Vart for a high price but benched him...

I don't see why Milan need someone like Vander Vaart for now, maybe in 2-3 years, when Serginho, Rui Costa and Rivaldo retire or leave, then there will be room for Vander Vaart. However, even then, Gattuso, Ambro, Donati, Pirlo, Seedolf, Brocchi, Sam Dalla Bona will all be at their prime.

He's a good player I know him very good since he played in Gent.He was good in Gent but not that good I don't even think he was the best player in the league so I don't think he would be good enough for milan.If you want to buy a young great attacker then buy Ibrahimovic(Zlatan) He's much better

i know that dutch league's standard is not good, but ajax team is class of its own, they almost beat valencia in spain and they won roma deservedly.... so what i am trying to say is that van der vaart can adapt to any league in the world.

1. Almost all those playes you mention here are strikers. Ofcourse more attention goes out to the strikers cuz they have to produce the goals. Comparing a midfielder with a striker makes no sence. It's about wether or not Beckham is a world start player at his position.
2. A sucky player doesn't last as long at a big club like man utd like beckham does. If you want to talk about average or bad players at man utd think about barthez, neville, silvestre, frolan, etc., etc.
3. "Who got him the free kicks?". You will always get freekicks. If you're lucky you got a player in your team who can produce goals out of those freekicks.
