At 1-1, it seemed like we were not going anywhere, until some moment of magic by Ambrosini, and luck as it does seem to be a lenient penalty.

Allegri did not look like he was going to make any changes, and only did his first two changes because of injuries to both Pato and Inzaghi..third sub was brought on 93rd minute to waste time.

I'm still not convinced by Allegri - yet.
And what if Allegri made 2 subs before the injury of Pato ? He would have replaced Pato by Inzaghi, Inzaghi would have been injured and we would have played with 10 men ... If we look at the game this way, we can say that Allegri was smart !!

Yeah, we also have to underline that before the run from Ambrosini we were bad from the beginning of second half. In the first half after the goal, we were controlling the game but we could also go attacking and create chances while we were controlling the game but we didn't do it. That was a big mistake from us. That mentality to satisfy after leading 1-2 goals is still there. We should use the time after the goal since Seedorf can't give his best after 45 minutes!

About changing, he could do some changes when we were drawing 1-1 but there was few option. I don't know if Pirlo was on the bench. If not, only Ronaldinho, Strasser for (attacking) midfielders.

An excellent performance on the whole where the win was deserved. We played well throughout the match and few individuals put in poor performances, meaning overall the team worked well and as a single unit throughout.

We played the usual 4-3-1-2, but it was very flexible and often became 4-2-3-1 with Boateng pushing up and Pato (sometimes Ibra) coming back. This allowed us to attack wide areas, stretching Palermo as they sat back throughout the first half. Our pressing all over the field made it difficult for Palermo to stop us and build meaningful moves, especially as they were deep. After our goal, we slowed our game down, probably looking to conserve energy and take the sting out of the game.

The second half started mixed, as Palermo pushed up and tried to press us at the back. This is where Pirlo was missed somewhat as we didn't have a decent outlet to push us out of defence. Even then we controlled the game and I felt the equaliser came from an individual moment, rather than well sustained play.

We showed our resolve and ability as immediately we pushed up with Pato (where he got injured), Seedorf and eventually Ambro (for the penalty) all attacking a weak spot in the Palermo on the inside left to come close. Once we scored the second goal, the game became very easy as Palermo were forced to push high to look for an equaliser, making them vulnerable to the counter.

Players...

Abbiati - Poor, as he looked shakey and should have stopped the equaliser
Abate - Showing much more confidence now, and his performances have improved as a result
Thiago - Glad to have him back
, very important for us

Yepes - Very good game at the back, some poor distribution
Antonini - Moved forward well, not a bad game at all
Flamini - Excellent in deputizing for Rino and offered more going forward
Ambro - Provides great solidity and acted well as captain. A definite starter at this point
Boateng - Some slack passing and still not always tactically aware
Seedorf - Excellent at linking defence to attack and on a number of occasions attacked Palermo's weakest spots
Ibra - Didn't show up until the penalty, poor overall imo
Pato - Excellent till the injury, a game with movement and didn't forget his defensive duties.
