Well, of course a player is proven once he has done well in a top club...as you mentioned Roma, Juve, Inter. But then that would mean that we only have to buy players from top clubs, and that most of the time is not the easiest thing to do.
Personaly, I agree with you......but if a player has talent and is doing well, I think it is worth gambling and bringing him in, expecially if the price is appealing. After all........Kaka, Pirlo, Gattuso were never expected to be the center of a Scudetto, CL, World Cup winning teams. We brought them in and it turned out fine. The point is that mentall toughness will be really really hard to judge. The "proven in Serie A" thing has nothing to do with mentall toughness but it gives you a PLUS on the fact that the player is used to life in Italy and the way the game is played in Serie A. Because I still remember the names like Mendieta, Keane, Rivaldo.

About the Gila case....I agree, but I still believe that he will soon start scoring and never stop. Because he has the tallent to do that. I think he will become one of the best strikers in the world.
The difference between him and for example Pasqual is that one is a striker and the other a defender. The point there is that strikers always have the most pressure in a game. They are judged by goals scored. They can do great, but if they don't score people judge them to be horrible. Defenders on the other hand can slide by with average performances and a lot of times will not be mentioned in the "bad players". That's a start to build on their performances and become better while not having that much pressure on them. Having to score in every game is certainly a big pressure as opposing to having to shut down a player, where you actually have the help of team mates to do so anyway.

Maybe my last text was not clear...I agree w/ you that if the player is showing talent, it´s worth gambling and bringing him to the club. What I was saying is that to be "proven in serie A" in a small or or medium club, IMO, does not give an advantage above a player used to play in a big club in another country(w/ tradition in football). IMO, what really imports(besides the talent), are the physical and mental characteristics of the players...
Said that, I believe that some players just does not have the characteristics for to play in a style of football(Serie A, EPL...), and it was the case of a old Rivaldo. But I remeber when Kaká was brought of Brazil, and people are saying that we need to loan him to gain experience in another club. The guy was the rookie of the year, and a year later, the MVP of Brazilian Championship, playing a big club like Sao Paulo(carrying a lot of pression). Beyond that, Kaká had all the tools( physically and mentally) to be sucefull in european football...and just because Kaká wasn´t proven in Serie A, so many guys preferred another players(just for to be proven in serie A). My point is, if we need to gamble(and every club needs), we need to gamble in the best talent avaliable, independently of serie A experience. But always taking into account if the player has the tools(physically and mentally) to play in determined style of game...

I agree...and as I said, I want Gilla or L. Fabiano here...and I still believe that Gilla will recovery his confidence...and IMO, a second striker to be pair w/ him, will help a lot...

He needs one desperately.. and I'm really for Cassano because him being Italian means he'll fit in more quickly as he knows the language.. and he and Gila will then have better teamwork. They can talk more on the pitch.. etc.

Interesting prospect but overrated if they are going to label him the new Sheva.
He has french passport, and has yet to decide whether he wants to play for France or Argentina.
MSI already is involved with him.

Palacio, who is better, is said to be close to Barcelona (Barca has an option apparently).

Guys, it may seem out of topic. but i don't know where else to put this news. Kaka scored again for Brazil against Ecuador. And this time is the winning goal!!!!!!!

I think Milan management should consider Higuain's teammate, Fernando Belluschi, a very complete midfielder. He could be our new Seedorf.

How about rafael Sobis? We were so close to get him but silvio didn't like him!He is very talented!
I think Huntelaar and Sobis are the new sheva!

Enough with the 'new sheva' talk. Also.. doesn't Higuain strike for Riverplate? What would he be doing all the way back there. That midfield is also too weak physically.
