Need an Italian translation. Gattuso is pictured carrying a sign that reads, "io non la vinco d 42 anni" please translate. I'm guessing its a stub at Inter.
Next season will be even tougher. I want the scudetto.

Pennant & Gerrard had very clear chances - they just finished (or didn't) weakly. Had either of them put any more on their shot, any comments about handling our attacks would have gone straight out the window and been replaced with 'it was only a matter of time as Liverpool kept pressing'. I'll agree the others were only half chances but on another day one of Riise, Alonso's or Gerrard's shots would've been unstoppable and on target - they do it quite a bit so it wouldn't be chance.

About Kuyt's goal, I'll probably have to have a look to see again, though I ought to be honest, I'm not too bothered either way right now

About Pennant's chance, I wouldn't quite call it clear, as Jankulovski (I think) actually slid in and normally it would have gotten blocked (it actually went under Janku's leg), added to which it's a very difficult angle to beat Dida, so had he scored, I'd be very impressed. As for Gerrard, I'm pretty sure I did mention his chance.

About the long shot's from Riise, Gerrard and Alonso, yes they're good at those shots, but then again Kaka was on numerous occasions in a good position to run past the last defender to be through on goal which were wasted, and more often than not, he does it. So in that respect I think both teams had opportunities which you might hope them to capitalise.

That freekick is a bit strange. I can't remember it being done in the derby but definately the Empoli match Pippo mentioned. I remember one time seeing it hit Pippo but it didn't deflect in, but rather just dropped perfectly for him to slot in. As for the arm yesterday, I don't quite think it was intentional

I always thought Kuyt was offside, I thought the ball came of a LUFC player- but if it was Maldini fair enough (just like Sheva's disallowed goal in 2005?).

Just got home from Greece and the first thing i do is opening Milanmania.

Congratulations. Many outside this forum will disagree, but Milan deserved the trophy after calciopoli, after all sorts of transfer and CL appearance problems, after 0:2 in Munich, after 3:0 against Manchester.

The ones who were in Athens will only confirm how it was something we'll hardly see again in our lifes. The atmosphere in the city before the match was unique. Liverpool fans were outnumbering Milan fans on the streets but from what i've seen, although i heard different later, everybody acted friendly.
The atmosphere in Spiros Louis...wooow...i still hear the fans singing.
Organization was great, although i heard later how there were some problems with fighting.

Kudos to Liverpool fans for being the greatest in the world and kudos to Milan fans for being close second best fans in the world.

The match...well, i didn't see more than 60 minutes of it. The atmosphere sarounding me was so F-in unbelievable that i found it to be more interesting than what was happening on the field

In the first half we all thought Liverpool will score ( btw, i spent the last 5 days in Greece. In Salonika, every single man i talked with wanted Milan to win. In Athens , among the neutrals, it was something like 55-45 in Liverpools favour. In my talks with the locals i found out that Panathinaikos and especially AEK fans were on Liverpool's side, while Olympiacos fans wanted Milan to win. That was my impression.)
Everytime Pennant would have taken the ball, and everytime the Milan defendrer (i thought it was Nesta all the time and only few hours ago i've been told it was Jankulovski) would have given an easy ball, the crowd went crazy.

Gattuso had his worst game in 2007 while Mascherano had the match of his life and made Kaka's life harder.
Still, Pool didn't create many chances, while the semi chances they had were missed and Milan will always punish that.
Free kick, Pirlo scores ( we all thought it was Pirlo who scored the goal until Pippo's name came out) and delirium. Milan fans have shown why are they among the best in the world.

At halftime i made a bet with one older Danish gentleman that Pool will equalize, while he told me Pippo will score another one and win the match (i should have lost 10 euro but the man refused to take my money ). The atmosphere at halftime was no different than during the 45 minutes of first half.

Second half came and Stivie Gerrard made the miss of his life. Maybe for Crouch, Alonso and Carragher this defeat won't be as painfull as 2005 defeat was for Milan players, but i bet for Gerrard this defeat and his miss will hurt as much as the defeat and missed chance in 2005 hurts Shevchenko.

Then the match became pretty boring and Milan fans took the initiative so i spent most of the time watching them and i would take a look on what's happening on the field only when the crowd around me would have gotten crazy.
As the end was getting closer i was sure Milan will win this match. Liverpool lost the pace, strenght, ideas.
And then Buuuuum...Pippo again.
Now even the neutrals applauded Milan and were happy for this goal.

We all started preparing for the celebrations, Milan fans were getting lauder and then out of nowhere Kuyt scored ( i missed this goal ).
The same neutrals who went crazy after Pippo's goal and were applauding Milan, now changed their minds and started shouting for Pool to score another.

It was too late though.
Milan won and we all stood up to give them a minutes long applause.

I was filming with my camera and i'll try to upload the video these days so you could also feel a part of the atmosphere in Athens.

Congrats again for the deserved win

P.S : Oh, and i was wearing my Nedved jersey all the time. Had no problems at all
