Stop talking about Shev's family! he moved to London becouse "his kind need to learn english"????? As Carlo said NOW: " Sheva will come back becouse he has forgotten italian..." Still making jokes on how Sheva betraied Milan.

And now after 3 years - what? His wife and kind dont need to talk english anymore? They dont need to live in London anymore? Where is the "career sacrifice now"?

Stop talking nonsence.
-------------------------------------------

But all of this doesnt matter. Carlo said nicely that he wants different tipe of a forward and he will not get it. Still, he will stay as a coach who has no curage to say: "enogh" to Berlusconi and co.

Perhaps in serie-a, but their record in europe is attrocious.

Drogba took 2 seasons to adapt to the premier league, was the 2006-2007 that he really started to score in the league.

How long to adapt to serie-a?

If you combine Ibrahamovic and Drogba's goals in europe they still don't come close to Sheva's european record.

And remember Drogra is only 1 year younger than Sheva.

Truth is, I simply don’t see how we can rely on him as a squad player (who must have the characteristics to do a solid job when called on, even if only a little). Our signings must bring a fresh mentality in Milan, to try and influence the squad positively for next season (the mentality of the squad isn’t great), and Sheva for me isn’t a player in a position to do that. I also don’t think he’s in a position to mentor Pato either, as he has too much on his own plate to sort out before he can think about others. Many of our problems right now are a result of big risks taken in the market, and we’re already gambling with a couple of signings (R10 and Zambro probably), so I don’t think it’s good to take more. To me it’d make more sense to recall Oliveira from Spain to try again in Milan than to get Sheva, as he’s playing pretty well this year, seems prepared to return and fight for his spot (he said this himself in an interview during the season) and has similar characteristics to Sheva (other than the power).

In addition, Carlo has made it quite clear he’s not positive about the Sheva signing, and although this phone call changed his mind, I’m pretty doubtful he has. Unless the management seriously plan to axe him this summer, I’m worried Sheva’s arrival could cause disharmony in the club.

As for this debate on this thread about him being a traitor, I personally couldn’t care less (especially if it was for his family) and I made my peace a month or two after he left. Whether we bring him back shouldn’t be based on emotional responses to his past at the club.

All this said, looks like we should be prepared to welcome him back (which I still will do) considering the comments of the management.

I also lack confidence in Borriello. At Genoa the team plays for him (this is evident in that he’s scored over half of the club’s this season), but at Milan this won’t be the case. Plus he obviously needs to play regularly, something we can’t guarantee at Milan. There is also the strong possibility he is a one season wonder. I feel we need a forward with his characteristics, but I don’t know if he is the answer.
Sheva is not a squad player?!?!
What would you say about this, or this, or may be this?
You may say that this is in the past, that he's older and can't do it again. But from what I'm seeing, he didn't run like hell in these situations, he just knew what to do, and when to do it. People call it experince.
As I know, in the last his season with us, 4 our players managed to score 10+ goals in Serie A (Sheva, Gila, Kaka' and Inzaghi), Milan scored 85 goals. In the first season without him only Gila managed to do it (scoring 12 goals), Milan scored 58 goals. When Sheva was around, even Gila looked like great player. Just look the flow of the game with him and now without him, what would you say, can't you see the difference? Sheva is a player, who can do something out of nothing, in the current squad only Pato and Kaka' can do it. And he's not in that bad form. He's not injured, he just is the forth Chelsea's striker. Grant prefers Drogba, Anelka and Kalou over him, and thats normal, just the EPL football do not suit him. Besides Grant often prefers a formation with a lone striker, supported by Cole and Ballack.
He's playing regularly for Ukraine and he scores there almost every game, scored vs Italy, scored vs France, scored in the last friendly vs Serbia.
And Sheva already knows, that Pato is the priority of the team, he said he has no problem with that, he accept it.

Forgive me, but the Ricardo Oliveira's part made me

Well, everybody can have a different opinion. My opinion is that we could only benefit from his return, very good player almost for free, only with the price of the non-EU spot.

We are wasting a spot on a has been, someone who turned his back, despite saying Milan for Life. He's the breadwinner in his family, but his wife hods the money. We don't need him, especially now as he's way past it. Get Berbatov & Flamini, and get out of London.

In a word, Crespo.

Why is it everyone thinks we're going to get Shevchenko for free? They could just as easily charge us 5-10 million for him.

Crespo's situation is exactly the same as Shevchenko.
- He's as good a striker as Shevchenko,
- He's been in Serie A this season meaning he doesn't need time to adapt,
- He knows how we work & has a good relationship with us and the fans,
- He's fit and in good form (unlike Shevchenko),
- He equally could cost little money or be free.

Hi Jim!

Do you think Crespo and Sheva are similar players?

I don't think they are similar players. We already have Gila, Pippo and Paloschi who are like Crespo.

Even if Chelsea charge us 5-10 euros for him, I would still get him because we only have Pato who plays like him. I am sure you must be thinking that Pato will do good next season but remmember he is still a rookie and anything can happen to him. Sheva will be a complementary to Pato.

Besides, it is very much possible to play Pato and Sheva together since they are both creative strikers.

2) the most important, Crespo is Inter's player, which mean there's no way we could sign him, Moratti would rather die than to give us any player... Expecially when he knows that we could use that player much better than Inter...

I think you misunderstood. As a squad player I meant someone who we can rely on to come off the bench and perform.

The thing is, those videos you showed me may not show him running a lot, but he's not playing as well or with the confidence he did back then, and isn't taking up these positions either. What I'm confused about is how you can say he's not in bad form? Seriously, I'd be laughing at the idea that our club would sign him if it wasn't for the past and I knew what he used to do. I don't think it's to do with not suiting the Premiership either, I think it's a number of factors now (mental, poor fitness, lack of form etc).

For Ukraine it's different to what it'll be at Milan. The Ukraine side is like Borriello in Genoa, the team is built around Sheva, everything goes to him, but at Milan this wouldn't happen.

I don't see why Oliveira is a joke if Sheva can be a serious target. Oliveira in La Liga has scored something like 11 goals in 25 appearances (22 starts I think) in a side seriously struggling in a relegation battle. That's not bad, especially compared to Sheva who is playing for the reserves of Chelsea.

May be becouse some players can perform only in one league. For example Anelka ruled in Arsenal, was a shadow of himself in Madrid (don't even want to mention his adventure with Fenerbahce...) and shine again in EPL, earning a place in Chelsea. Henry was a king in EPL, now you know how he's doing in Spain. Even Ricardo Oliveira himself, if we judge him only for how he performed in Italy (3 goals in a whole season, Ancelotti even prefered to use Kaka' as a striker than to use RO...), we would say that he's pure crap. But he returned to La Liga and showed that he's not that bad player. May that's becouse RO is a player, who suits well in Spain, Henry and Anelka are EPL players, and Sheva is a player for Serie A.
If Ronaldo managed to shine back in Milan last season (and he was in worst condition, compared with current Sheva's condition), if Trezeguet is still capable to score 15+ goals in Serie A, I don't see a reason why Sheva could not do the same...

Hello

No i don't think they're similar players, but you have to keep in mind that if we get Ronaldinho we'll have the Brazilian as a support striker and he'll surely start. This means we'll only play 1 up front in which case maybe a Crespo is better than a Shevchenko, who knows.

I agree with you about Pato being a rookie, he has alot to learn and i would personally start him as a sub if everyone was fit. Yes Shevchenko & Pato could play together but so could Pato & Crespo.

1) That's correct, but like i said before, Ronaldinho can play as a support striker so does that mean we need Shevchenko as well?

2) Crespo wants to leave and i don't think Moratti would have as much objection letting him come to us as opposed to someone like Ibrahimovic, Balotelli or Cambiasso.

I'm fed up with the people who say that Ronaldo came back to a high level despite his bad form ... he did nothing, nothing this year, nothing last year (playing 6-7 games in 2 years and scoring 4-5 goals doesn't mean anything).

Anyway, it's not the problem ... lol

Rayno, I mainly agree with you for "some players suit to one league and no other league", but you took the bad example with Anelka lol: this guy was strong despite his youngness in Paris (France), he was/is a big star in England, he didn't do well in Madrid (because of other reasons that his level and ability to suit to Liga), he did well in Fenerbahce, he was a star there ...
I would have liked him to come to Milan to see if he could have been a good recruie, he has all the skills that a modern striker has to have, a bit like the Sheva who was playing for us some years ago (not Sheva nowadays, even if I think he can do well anyway if the environment around him is positive).

Sheva may not be a squad player but I am sure that will not hurt Pato in anyway. Pato's progress in Milan will continue anyway. He will be our No. 1 striker.

Also, if Sheva starts playing well there is no reason he should be asked to be a squad player.

Having a good striker similar to Pato means we would be able to always play with the same kind of formation, and that would also allow Pato to learn from another person.

If management thinks Sheva is the one, let's go for him, let's give him a new chance, but he will have to start from nothing, he will have to prove again he is good or better ...
