Sheva is better than van Basten (?)

as a milan fan, it's obvious for me to be a fan for both van basten and sheva, who contributed to the club with a lot of goals.
it's very subjective to say who's a better player and it's difficult to compare players under different football eras. to me, van basten was the best among all strikers in his days. since his retirement, i yet can't see anyone else who can remind me about him.
i must also admit that van basten's premature retirement made him (more) legendary. as van basten humbly said after his retirement, "when you retired, you become a better player in people's mind. i had missed a lot of golden opportunities and played a lot of bad games too."
lastly, in order to judge a player fairly, i think it's very important to have a complete reference but not just with "game-highlights/goals". it's really my privilege to have seen many 90-min full games (live on TV and video records) played by van basten. i hoped so much that i could go to see him played with my own eyes and so i could know him better......

Thing is, we missed the best of Van Basten since his injury came when he played some of his best football ever. I already mentioned it in this thread, we where unbeatable at that point and he scored freely. After his injury we slowly sank from being undispited best to becoming one of the best and then a mediocre team...

Had it not been for that injury then we would have had so much more to be happy about, not to forget the prospect of seeing him play with Weah! Now that would have been cool.

as much as I love the man to bits (sheva) MVB is still the better player.

Let's end this post. The conclusion is Marco is better than Sheva by far. I remember a video clip of Van Basten saying goodbye at the san siro. I saw Capello in tears, crying like someone he loved pass away.

Will Carlo cry when Sheva joins chelsea? Tears show Marco is simply irreplaceble and forever will be a striker's striker.

U know why he wont cry for him its because i really think they didnt like each other, the relationship between them wasn't good at all, so ur saying sheva is replaceble? I dont think so MVB.

Marco is 10 times the man $heva is. For me Bierhoff should should be in a higher place than $hev

MvB is the best at his time and maybe at every time as a striker who scores unthinkble goals but not shev.

how quick some people turn!! sheva is a great without doubt don't let the past weeks sour your opinion please. van basten is better imo but thats my view. sheva is a better player but strikers are about goals and van basten was a better goal scorer. if not for injury would have been even greater.

i refuse to forget what sheva done for us and will not pour cold water on his achievments after all he is the second highest milan goal scorer of all time!!!

don't you think that if van basten didnt get injured he would score more goals than sheva maybe even more than nordhal.
