Then GNL, would you agree for us not to purchase a "Rui" replacement, and bank on this guy and Foggia?

Intresting proposition, but if offered an experienced, world class midfielder (which admittedly, to come to Milan to sit on the bench for Kaka, is not realistically a choice for the Riquelmes, Aimars, and Ronaldinhos of this world), would you not take one of those over a Gourcuff or a Foggia, who are less certain to perform at the required level?

I remain undecided on this issue, for, as a fan, I am impatient for success, but also understand the need to have balance between experience and youth in a team. Unless, talent, the ultimate bottom line, is guaranteed with the mix, with immediate effect.

This sudden infusion of youth, (forced admittedly by Viera´s departure and a lack of funds) almost cost Arsenal a UCL spot, only Tottenham´s food poisoned loss to West Ham(?) allowed them entry into Europe this year.

I for one, am not about to take that chance, not when we stand the best possible chance of a scudetto (with Juve relegated of course, and even if not) we have had for some time, but, again, with the right transfer, you never know...

He'll stay with us, GRE-NO-LI - and Foggia as well. Two very interesting additions to our midfield. Young and talented players who can turn into stars or something near it in a couple of seasons.
Next season we will probably have the chance to watch a young star from Primavera squad (Bloudek) in action in Seria A and the development of Pozzi - but I need to say that I am really curious to watch Davide de Gennaro, playmaker of Primavra squad and considered a special talent with only 17yo.
And it'll be crucial to our future, because I realize a couple of days ago a legal issue about it in the near future (two seasons). The teams must have at least four players developed in their youth system in the roster.

MILAN SIGN RISING TALENT
22/06/2006
Milan have once again gone down the route of unearthing young talent as they did with Ricky Kakà. As Adriano Galliani announced at the summer Workshop at Tanka Village di Villasimius, it is possible to spend millions of a proven star but it is a different discussion in finding a young player. With this in mind, Milan have signed Yohann Gourcuff, who turns 20 next month, from French side Rennes. The France Under-21 international has been tracked by the club for a number of months and with his skill and athleticism, the number 10 is certainly seen as one for the future as he joins the great stars at Milanello.

Warro:

I'm for Gourcuff to stay with us based on the premise that our board hates to expend money signing big name... but if Berlusconi wants to bring some top class established footballer, I won't regret at all.

As far as I see it, he wont be, at least not to Renne, which was what the French club wanted..

Hell, if we have to play in the Serie B next season, then Gourcuff should definitely not be loaned out.

I strongly believe that Berlusconi's 'timely' return to Milan will NOT see us playing in Serie B next season, maybe a slap on the wrist with us getting points deducted this season or next season....

On our new young 'playmaker', worry is that Carlo will leave him to rot on the bench, as i'm sure all of you have noticed, Carlo is pretty much firm on his midfield selection with Seedorf, Kaka, Pirlo & Gattuso. Even when it is evident that they are playing like crap or simply exhausted...

Kaka was simply too good and too explosive in his first season (so much so whenever Kaka got the ball, we knew a goal could come!), and I would treat it as a 1 off...

I would love to see Foggia & Gourcuff stay with us, and be given the opportunity while acting as a backup to our midfield... rather loaning them out and getting another 33-35 yr old as backups...

Enough of this crappy reverse-youth policy...

THe thing is, Kaka` is much better, so the coach chooses the best lineup. If, say, Milan lab thinkgs that Kaka` is on top form even if he is playing every 3 games, then why should I play Rui Costa, for instance?

If Kaka` didn't play well in one game, we have no absolute confidence to conclude that it's fatigue that makes him play poorly. Otherwise, Carlos should never field him in the first place if they are not fit.

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has declared new signing Yoann Gourcuff is good enough to be a regular next season.
The France U21 international signed for Milan last week from Rennes and Berlusconi said: "Gourcuff is a boy prodigy.

"I have an idea for next season: he could play behind the forwards with Kaka, taking advantage of their individual qualities."
