That's a little rough for Boriello don't you think. He wasn't given a chance to score but worker very hard and won almost every header that he contested. As a matter of fact....if you go back and watch both goals that we scored, he was involved in both of them. The first one.....Pato got the ball after a long ball from the back and Boriello got the pass, then found an open Ronaldinho and moved away from the ball. Ronaldinho then gave the assist to Pato for the goal. The second one....he won a header (head pass to Pato) after a long ball from the back...from which Pato passed to Ronaldinho-Flamini-Pato-GOAL. It seems like too much and it is easy for people to overlook it.....but Boriello's win of the header was a key moment of the chance.
-So I know Boriello didn't score and he still has a lot to prove.....but for you to give him the worst grade of our whole team is way too rough and not correct IMO.

Also....Flamini and Ronaldinho same as Jankulovski?? Flamini was great throughout the game in my eyes. While Jankulovski improved in the second half.....his first half horror show was enough for him to not even get anything more then 5. IMO Janku was the worst player for us. It's an insult to Ronaldinho (who even though wasn't spectacular throughout, he gave us 3 points with 2 touches of the ball) to have the same grade as Jankulovski today.

I agree for the rest. Thiago and Nesta were just superb together.

Nothing against you Brk, in case this sounded like I'm knocking you and your post........I just didn't agree with some of your ratings.

when (Our real captain) Gattuso left the pitch why did he give the armband to Pirlo (Our Vice-Captain) instead of "Captain" Ambro?

wow

I haven't seen the game, but I've seen goals. Although both were scored by Pato, I'd give Ronnie all the credit. Those two passes were incedible, I hope it's the sign of things to come

I thought we controlled the game for large periods in both halves, and felt that Marek was guilty on the Siena equalizer, so, though he looked good going fwd, he ended up almost costing us the full 3 points.

Pato, while he did score a brace, capitalizing on R80's brilliance, needs to improve in the decision making aspect of his game....though one can hope that this will improve with age.

All in all, an impressive, though somewhat understated win, as the scoreline didn't reflect our dominance of the game.

Pirlo played up to his usual standard, and spread play nicely.

Silva was for me, the stand out player in our defense....Nesta was pure class, and yet Silva stood out becuz Nesta wasn't "that" much better than him....(And Nesta was excellent, close to a flawless performance)truly, if these 2 can stay fit for the bulk of the season, we will have possibly the best defensive partnership in Serie A.

R80 was also close to the player he was when on form @ Barca, and the impact he was having was so gr8, Leo didn't dare take him off, which was a big surprise for me, as I thought he would b subbed when Seedorf and Ambrosini started to warm up...its clear Clarence isn't seen as a starter by Leo...which could be a good thing, as it will keep him "fresh" for when he has to spell R80 as tequartista.

Boriello, though he never got any real opportunities on goal, was instrumental in us maintaining posession, as well as being involved in the build up for both goals. If he continues in this vein, even if he doesn't score, Leo is certain to give him minutes....and I endorse that completely.

Rino and Flamini were both solid, and the French international showed nice flashes in the attacking third.

Zambrotta was a bit below his best, but no real complaints from me.

Leo's introduction of Ambro was well timed, and didn't upset the team chemistry in the slightest.

I confess that I am much less pessimistic now that I have seen us in action, in a league match.

We performed like the home team should have, bossing posession, and controlling the game.

Good victory. Let's see how we fare vs the Merde.

Forza Miiiiiilan!!!

Great win, and an unlucky goal against us.....

Sad to see Abate not feauture, but after Rino's performance, Abate may get the nod. Dihno is too slow to play down wings these days and not strong enough as a foward, so let's leave him behind the two strikers so he can play his "killer" passes.

Don't think Borri played well enough today to keep Hunter out for the next match though.

My applause to Leo, Pato, and in particular, Thiago Silva, who looked at home in our lineup!

Thanks guys for the comments.

So, this is what a transitional team looks like. I would agree that our flanks are not up to the mark and I am sure that Mourinho will not miss this detail. There were good indications from Pato/Ronaldinho/Nesta/T. Silva and they seem to be emerging as the new backbone of Milan alongside Pirlo/Flamini.

But the season is long with mid-week CL matches and I am concerned whether the quartet would hold up without much help from our squad players. Our midfield is surprising weak in backup (what if Ronnie/Flamini/Pirlo are out?) as is our defense (what if either Nesta or T.Silva were out?)

I would even suggest for Kaladze in the left back position just to give a little more stableness (!!!) to the flanks, not necessarily for width in attack. Our attacking threat currently appears limited though to Ronaldinho/Pirlo/Pato and that is not enough. Pirlo tends to blow hot and cold too. Perhaps Abate could add some bite.

Overall a tentative performance, I am ready a couple of seasons of rebuilding.

I like how Galliani says great Dinho, great Pato and Silva, but does not mention Falmini, a never stopping engine, a guy that leaves everything on the field. He should really appreciate more Flamini, what a player that we have picked up for FREE. Unbelievable !!!

Flamini is our best buy last season and he show how good he really is. I like how he play, defending the mid and going forward to assist when needed.

I like how ronaldinho play, he remind me of Rui Costa. A player who can decide a game with his passes. When did he learn to pass like that? i always thought he is a player who run at opponents like kaka. This ronaldinho can actually do well playing together with kaka like how we play with Rui Costa and kaka together....but then we sold away kaka....damn if not we would have an extremely strong attack....

Pato is good, improving from last year. He show why he is one of the hottest young player....that's why milan didn't sell him because he can fetch even more money in future.

Our CB are good, how nice it feel to finally have a stable centre pairing. Well, i can't believe the best centre back pairing consist of a brazilian....its just weird....

GK.....next please...we definite need a world class keeper if we want to do well. Abbiati is good but injured. Anybody else noticed that we were at the top of the serie A last season with Abbiati as our keeper...we need a replacement, not all the many sub-standard backup....

FB....nothing much to say, poor when defending, good going forward. We will die with these type of FBs. Cissoko is so going to be missed.....

I'm lesss worried about our midfield as Seedorf, Ambro and Abate can replace those you mentioned (Pirlo, Flamini and Dinho). However, if we lose Nesta or Pato, then I think we're in trouble.
