He's a lot better with Udinese than Italy. He's one of those guys that coaches love. He has incredible work rate for a winger.

+1 foggia has played well when they play him. Leads them in assists even though hes started half the games. Either Foggia or Pepe would be good depth. Proven Serie A players who know there role.

According to a report in Tuttosport, Italian powerhouse AC Milan are closely monitoring the situation of highly rated Feyenoord youngster Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Rossoneri are eager to replace some of their older players with highly rated youngsters and Wijnaldum is reportedly one of Milan's main targets on the transfer market due to the fact he has considerable first team experience already.

The versatile midfielder made his official league debut for Feyenoord at the age of 16 and has since made well over 50 league appearances for the Eredivisie giants.

The report suggests that Milan are preparing a €4 million offer for the 19-year-old Feyenoord star, but it appears very much unlikely that the Dutch side will let go of their prized asset for such a relatively low price.

Additionally, Wijnaldum recently stated his desire to stay at Feyenoord for at least two more years before considering a move abroad.

Wijnaldum is one of the most talented dutch players I've seen in the last 10 years! This kid is amazing, last season when feyenoord had a miserable season he was by far their best player. This season he isnt playing so good but this always happens to young players, after a great debut season most of them will have a bad time after that. But you can still see he has so much talent.
But that 4m is a joke! I dont think a player like him will be sold for less than 10/15m.

I will always prefer a player like him over a player like pepe, wijnaldum can be worldclass in the future, maybe pepe is a bit more usefull for now but in the end we would have more fun with a player like wijnaldum...

looking back, Gilla really wasnt that bad. he averaged like a goal every three games which while not great isnt that bad either. Maybe he just didnt have it fully together mentally at the time, but he has been great for Fiorentina and Italy lately

Is not he doesn't have it mentally at that time; it's the system that we have he wouldn't fit. This debate about pro-Gila and anti-Gila has been gone for ages, and there is really no reason to debate further.

All I found amusing is "he will collapse under pressure". Oh ya, get paid for so much and collapsed under pressure? Tactics, players, etc. don't play a role? But again, don't get me started again here. It's history .

Is anyone here concerned that with the youth we are buying, and the 30+ players that are the majority of the team right now, we don't have anyone in between? I know Berlu said no one over 27, but we need 23-26 year olds. The youngsters will take a while to develop, and considering how many youth academy players we have actaully seen play for the first team (not many...)

Well, those concerns are very legitmate, but that's basically the plan of this team now. Young players and oldies are both cheap and that's why we build the whole team around those two types of players. If this process of acquiring young players had began sooner, say about 4 years ago, we'd be in much much better shape, but I guess we were too smart for that. So the strategy now is to squeeze every single ounce of energy from the oldies while trying to bring up the young'uns as soon as possible. We are going to suffer from this, but I guess balancing the books is more important than winning trophies these days.

But if he comes to Milan i will laugh.No way he is matured enough to play here,are you crazy!!!The talent is there and he can play as RM or RW,even AM.But he hasnt the level of Milan to play here,he is somebody who you have to watch in the future and not buy to solve our issues on the wings,he just isnt ready.Give him two or three years and we can buy,or we have to loan him three years out.......

But yes he has talent and if we want to buy him we have to pay around 10 millions,that is the worth of Wijnaldum,Feyenoord are very poor they have debts from here to Tokio,so if they are going to sell their most valuable asset,they wont sell it for only 4-5 million.....

and he is still young enough to play with our Primavera, could we play him there the remainder of the season to get him used to living in Italy and getting to train in our system until the summer? if something happened we could bring him up if needed, but unless that happens we could just ease him in. Play him in some Coppa games or maybe sub him into a league blowout. dont put pressure on him now but just get him ready this season for the future

yup, I mentioned him before in this thread. This kid is the most talented 16year old I've ever seen! He will be a worldclass striker, no doubt about that. He has it all, VERY strong, fast, tall, great technique (watch his overhead kick vs Ajax!!!), and a real goalscorer.

Chelsea already wanted him in the summer, they wanted to give him a huge contract and also give his parents 1m euros But he's a very smart and mature kid, so he thought it would be best to stay at anderlecht, and look where he is now

Franco Baresi was in Belgium a few weeks ago, he was there to watch a small belgian team named "FC Anderlecht Milan". He also said he was there to look if anderlecht and milan could work together, he also mentioned Romelu Lukaku that he was watching him!
