The pair can be bought for about £17 million. It is a lot, but for your money you get the best LB in Serie A this season and 1 of the best young CBs around.

If you think about it, a lot of our mercato targets so far are cheap, free or swap deals.

Gilardino swap for Frey, Oliviera swap for Rossi, Flamini = free, Zambrotta = possibly cheap, Shevchenko = possibly cheap and then there's Boriello and the other loaned players.

So while it does initially seem alot, if our mercato consists of the above players, Ronaldinho aside, we should be able to afford Vargas & Zapata.

Hopefully a boast of enthusiasm on the market side.

wishful thinking, or some actual "real" rumors to substantiate these?

Jus checkin bro...u know me, I like when speculation is backed up by rumors from good publications......or if its just the "pipe dreams" (emphasis on pipe) of posters...

Further, forgive me, I havent been on site or trawling the rumor mills much recently, so I am a little off the pace insofar as rumors are concerned.

Giovanni, do you think that the campaign (elections) may have negative influence on the market ?
I assume some +300 m eur went for the campaign, but i have no idea how much of the money came from Berlu's pocket.

Whats the big deal with all this crap that Ronni and Kaka can't plat together?
How many times did they play together for Brazil and under whose management?
They are two different players with different styles and can be integrated into any team playing together in preseason will give them time to understand each other and coordinate their movements.

Which position does Ze Roberto plays for Bayern? From eversince he came to prominence at Leverkusen he havent seem to miss a beat... he is old but knows his way around the field, from 6yard to 6 yard. He can pass, tackle and SCORE regularly.
How much would he cost?

Ambro and Rino are fading lights and we speak only of Flamini and some other flash in the pond performers... isn't our money strong enough to buy Essien?

Zambrota is a great fullback but we need a younger person who can give us a scoring option...so i say Dani Alves is the best fit...if not Maicon...(if we are seeking a young Cafu)

Center backs...Lucio can be bought despite what Bayern's board says. Luisoa of Benfica is a great option also... Maldini should not try to fool his self and return next year for Cicinho and others to burn his chest on the flanks... and when he makes mistakes they go unnoticed because he is Maldini... Get a plaid pants and hat and hit the golf course!!!

Attacking midfield...R10 is a good option...What if we dont get him? i say we try to hijack Ederson b4 Lyon captures him...
Cant we just take Aquilani or DRossi from Roma?

Striker/Targetman... We need a player who have played successfully in more than one of the top leagues and internationally... so i say Berbatov or Drogba...Benzima has to prove that he can score outside of france other than at Ibrox.
If we are to be the dog that eats our vomit we will take back sheva that prodigal son (who by now must can speak the queen's language perfectly)

Money...the money that we are crying over every mercarto... even though we are one of the richest clubs in the world... Why jont we get one of those little Asian players (Japan, china or Korea) to improve our Asian markets... They dont have to play after our preseason tour of Asia.

All in all the type and quality players that we sign this summer depends heavily on weather we finish fourth or fifth.....

In Italy the State finances in some parts the campaign of every party. Btw Berlu's finances can stand a double committment, don't worry.

When he was elected in 2001, that summer we signed Inzaghi, Pirlo and Rui Costa and the year after Nesta and Seedorf.

Another coincidence: after he was elected we played a Uefa season. But built up a new era for the team.

I agree with you ...

He wouldn't cost that much, he plays like a center midfielder, no too defensive, not too offensive, just the perfect balance ... but I read some reports saying he will leave Bayern to go back in Leverkusen or Brazil, can't remember which one ...

Simply no, if it was so easy ... we're not in PES or Football Manager, do you think Chelsea is going to sell his best player ?? Probably one of the best, if not the best midfielder in the world ?? Us wating Essien would be like Madrid wanting Kaka' for moment ...

No to Maicon, he's good now, but he is an Inter player and anyway, I can't forget his years in Monaco ... he was a starter for only one reason: young Brazilian (in France, clubs are mad of Brazilian players, even a bad Brazilian will be a starter, it's what happens to Paris since January for example).

Ok for R10.
Ederson has already signed a (pre)contract with Lyon, and both clubs are ok for the amount of money ...

You made me laugh !! lol
Excellent, funny, but so sad because so real !! lol

Gio, I save your last message !! What you are saying is that we're probably going to have a new winning era like after 2001 !! lol

Oh, another thing that is similar to this period: we signed Pirlo (or Seedorf the following year) who had failed !! So he wasn't in a good form ... what happens to Ronaldinho this year ? lol

I'm naturally optimistic, cum grano salis, obviously.

Yes. The history shows it. In 22 years with Berlusconi we've gone through goods (many) and bads (few), but after every bad moment we've always re-built a new team which was more successful than the previous one.

Ambition is inside our dna.

Will be difficult ... we'll have to win again 2 CL+Scudetto+Italian Cup and add 1/2 Scudetto(i) !! lol

I'd sign now for such a performance over the 5 next years !!

Seedorf To Ronaldinho: No. 10 Is Mine
AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has warned Ronaldinho that if he joins the Rossoneri he will have to pick a different number for his shirt.

The Brazilian ace has been widely tipped for a move to AC Milan at the end of the season. He is finding life very hard at Barcelona and has been told that his services at the club are no longer required, and the Rossoneri are set to win the race for his signature.

However, any hopes of him being handed the number 10 shirt have been dashed by Clarence Seedorf, the proud owner of the number at Milan.

Ronaldinho was given the number 10 shirt off the back of Juan Roman Riquelme when he moved to Camp Nou from PSG five years ago, but there is unlikely to be a repeat.

"When I was playing for Inter, I used to wear the number 10, and when I moved to AC Milan, I could not continue using it because it belonged to Rui Costa," explained Seedorf.

"When he left the club, I was able to wear my favourite number, so I think that this example should prevail this time as well."

However,, Seedorf stressed that he is very happy with the possibility of playing alongside Ronaldinho, saying: "I will be very happy, because he is a big champion. He will be welcomed."

So, no n10 for Ronaldinho? It's going to be wierd seeing him wear anything other than 10 to be honest...Though, who knows, maybe Seedorf changes his mind or even leaves...

I guess Dinho would have to start where Seedorf started when Rui Costa had the 10... with the #20 which Gourcuff will probably leave available...
