In other news, the feel good factor has just gone up :P
Its official, we've just signed Emanuelson from Ajax.

Inter and Lazio both lost. This is great news, especially the former. If we win we can increase the distances.
I'm hoping to see Cassano from start.

Great signing for us, Emanuelson. ...Lots of pace.
I hope and expect Cassano to start. Looks like a great partnership is growing between him and Ibra. |

I heard that he got confidence from other players in dressing room (I think Ibra said it). A good sign! That's what a young player needs to boost their confidence. If other players don't trust him, it will be extremely hard for young player to show his best. Allegri was said also trust Merkel by saying that the kid (Merkel) knows to play. About Cassano, I like him playing behind other strikers or player who sets up the chances, not as striker or second striker who wait for ball to shoot on goal.

^^ I agree with your point about the players' confidence in him. After his goal, the players were more willing to pass the ball to him. Before that I noticed players like Ibrahimovic hesitating to give him the ball. A start to reward a good performance is good for his confidence as well. Unlike how a previous coach operated...
As for Cassano, I think his best position is at SS where he is closer to goal and can make things happen. He's not really a traditional playmaker but he's very inventive in front of goal and will make things happen. Since both he and Ibra like to create, they'll have to figure out a way not to get tangled up in each others feet

An exciting lineup as we get to see more of Merkel (an astonishing rise this year) and Cassano finally starts in a game of importance (with all due respect to the coppa, it's not that important).
Pato being out of a starting lineup will be an interesting test of his resolve and mental strength. |

It is the right thing to do. He needs to work hard to earn his place, and hopefully I am sure he will earn it back. I am not a fan of people getting the easy way through, it doesn't inspire people to work hard. Hopefully this is what will put Pato back on the right track to being a world class player. |
