105 Anni di Historia. 105 Anni di Successi.
105 years of History. 105 years of Successes and triumphs everywhere!
Let us revive some of these moments in images, that I have scanned from my Forza Milan! mags. A big  for Smoje for having uploaded them! I didn't scan the pics of the first part of the Century and now I realize I should have (note to self, to do that in the next few days! ). The first pics are from the 1950's first titles and triumphs. The founder of Milan, Sir Herbert Kiplin http://historia-futbolu.w.interia.pl...e/acmilan2.jpg The very first picture ever of a Milan team! http://historia-futbolu.w.interia.pl...e/acmilan1.jpg The 1950's, the ressurection: 3 Swedes, 4 Scudetti After a long lean period, the 1950's were a decade of plenty joys for the Milanisti due to Milan's numerous titles during that time. The Herores of the 1950 Scudetto led by the Legendary Gre-No-Li Trio! The Gre-No-Li Trio http://historia-futbolu.w.interia.pl...e/acmilan3.jpg The 1950-51 Scudetto team. http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/milan-1950_1.jpg The 1954-55 Scudetto team, Il Pompierone Nordhal and a pic from the biggest Milan away win ever, 8-0 in Genoa!: http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/milan1950_2.jpg The 1956-57 Scudetto Team! with some familiar names such as Cesarone Maldini, Lorenzo Buffon, Schiaffino and of course, Il Barone Liedholm. http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/milan-scudo-56-57.jpg 1957-58 Milan: http://fit.supereva.it/odeonger/Milan_1957-58.jpg The 1958-59 Scudo Roughly the same squad as the one of the 57 title, but with the addition of a certain Altafini. http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/milan-scudo-59.jpg One of the figures of the 1950's for Milan. Lorenzo Buffon. One of the all time greatest keepers to have played for us, vital in all 4 Scudetti won during that decade! http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/lorenzo-buffon.jpg Another key figure of the 50's, Juan Alberto Peppino Schiaffino. http://www.milanac.as.ro/istorie/schiaffino.gif The 1960's, a Golden Boy for the Golden Years In the 60's, also referred to as Gli Anni d'Oro (The Golden Years), Milan continued in the tradition which was established in the 1950's, that is of a victorious and triumphant team. This time around, those successes would also go onto spread to the International scene. The 1961-62 Scudetto team with some new additions such as a certain Giovanni Trappattoni and one who would become the symbol of Milan for the following 30 years, Gianni Rivera. http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/milan-scudo-62.jpg http://www.solocalcio.com/panini/gioco/Milan.jpg The first big International win comes in the mythical Wembley Stadium against another myth of European and World football of the time, the Great Benfica of one of all time greats, Eusebio. On this pic, the winning goal of José Altafini. First Italian team to win the European Cup! Cesarone Maldini is the captain of this first Mega Milan Team! http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/milan-benfica-63.jpg Cesarone and Il Paròn with the first European Cup won in Wembley in 1963. http://www.corriere.it/speciali/gall...jpg/image1.jpg Some key figures of the Golden Years: The first captain of that era, Cesarone Maldini. http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/cesarone-2.jpg A very young duo that would go onto play a major role not only in Milan's history, but Italian football overall with their massive contributions! http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/cesarone-e-trap.jpg Cup Winner's Cup 68 and Scudetto 69 http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/scudo68-ci67.jpg The Genuis behing all the triumphs of the 60 and some of those in the 70's were mainly due to him and his outstanding work, unique charisma and indelibile impact he's left on Milanisti, Il Paron Nereo Rocco! Voted Milan Coach of the Century by the Milanisti! http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/paron.jpg http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/paron2.jpg They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. This is one of such pictures! http://www.milanac.as.ro/istorie/rocco4.gif The Golden Boy Gianni Rivera. http://www.acmilanvn.com/anh/rivera2.gif Bernabeu, May 1969. Second European Cup won 4-1 against Ajax with 3 goals from Pierino La Peste Pratti. http://www.corriere.it/speciali/gall...jpg/image2.jpg Carlo Cudicini (goal keeper of Milan at the time) posing in the dressing rooms of the Bernabeu with Il Paron and the European Cup. http://www.corriere.it/Hermes%20Foto...o--180x230.jpg Gianni Rivera with the Champions Cup in the dressing rooms of the Bernabeu! http://historia-futbolu.w.interia.pl...e/acmilan4.jpg First Intercontinental Cup. World Club Champion 1969 against Estudiantes (Argentina) 3-0 at San Siro and 1-2 in Buenes Aires. http://acmilan.sporthk.net/0304/image5.jpg Angelo Sormani scoring the first of Milan's 3 goals in the first leg of the Intercontinental Cup, at the San Siro against Estudiantes. http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/milan-estudiantes-69.jpg The triumphant return of the 1969 World Club Champions at home! http://acmilan.sporthk.net/0304/image8.jpg A crucial member of the triumphs of the 60's, José Altafini [/img]http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/j.altafini.jpg[/img] Pierino Pratti, aka La Peste. He still has the record of most goals scored in a Champions Cup final (3 in 1969 against Ajax!) http://smoje.spymac.net/milan/pierino-prati.jpg The 1970's and beyond to be continued... FORZA MAGICO MILAN!!! Cheers.

Shevchenko second leading Serie A goalscorer for Milan
Here's the list of Milan's alltime scorers in Serie A:
Name Games Goals Strikerate 1. Nordahl 257 210 0.82 2. Shevchenko 208 127 0.61 3. Rivera 501 122 0.24 4. Altafini 205 120 0.59 5. Boffi 163 109 0.67 6. Santagostino 233 103 0.44 7. van Hege* 88 97 1.10 8. van Basten 147 90 0.61 * van Hege played before WW I...so it isn't really Serie A back then... The totals above reflect only games played with AC Milan... Nordahl's strikerate ended up at 0.77 (he also played a few seasons with Roma). That is the greatest strikerate for anyone who ever played in Serie A and scored over 100 goals... |
