Cool 105 Anni di Historia. 105 Anni di Successi.

105 years of History. 105 years of Successes and triumphs everywhere!

Let us revive some of these moments in images, that I have scanned from my Forza Milan! mags. A big  for Smoje for having uploaded them!

I didn't scan the pics of the first part of the Century and now I realize I should have (note to self, to do that in the next few days! ). The first pics are from the 1950's first titles and triumphs.

The founder of Milan, Sir Herbert Kiplin

The very first picture ever of a Milan team!

The 1950's, the ressurection: 3 Swedes, 4 Scudetti

After a long lean period, the 1950's were a decade of plenty joys for the Milanisti due to Milan's numerous titles during that time.
The Herores of the 1950 Scudetto led by the Legendary Gre-No-Li Trio!

The 1958-59 Scudo Roughly the same squad as the one of the 57 title, but with the addition of a certain Altafini.

One of the figures of the 1950's for Milan. Lorenzo Buffon. One of the all time greatest keepers to have played for us, vital in all 4 Scudetti won during that decade!

Another key figure of the 50's, Juan Alberto Peppino Schiaffino.

The 1960's, a Golden Boy for the Golden Years

In the 60's, also referred to as Gli Anni d'Oro (The Golden Years), Milan continued in the tradition which was established in the 1950's, that is of a victorious and triumphant team. This time around, those successes would also go onto spread to the International scene. The 1961-62 Scudetto team with some new additions such as a certain Giovanni Trappattoni and one who would become the symbol of Milan for the following 30 years, Gianni Rivera.

The first big International win comes in the mythical Wembley Stadium against another myth of European and World football of the time, the Great Benfica of one of all time greats, Eusebio.
On this pic, the winning goal of José Altafini. First Italian team to win the European Cup! Cesarone Maldini is the captain of this first Mega Milan Team!

Does Forza Milan dedicate those 105 years. I might get it then.

Shevchenko second leading Serie A goalscorer for Milan

Here's the list of Milan's alltime scorers in Serie A:

Name Games Goals Strikerate

1. Nordahl 257 210 0.82
2. Shevchenko 208 127 0.61
3. Rivera 501 122 0.24
4. Altafini 205 120 0.59
5. Boffi 163 109 0.67
6. Santagostino 233 103 0.44
7. van Hege* 88 97 1.10
8. van Basten 147 90 0.61

* van Hege played before WW I...so it isn't really Serie A back then...

The totals above reflect only games played with AC Milan...

Nordahl's strikerate ended up at 0.77 (he also played a few seasons
with Roma). That is the greatest strikerate for anyone who ever played
in Serie A and scored over 100 goals...
