Yeah... All teams drawn by Inter players. Pretty obvious. Anyway, not the perfect draw but we did well against Real Madrid last season and we should be better than both Ajax and Auxerre. If not, why would we be there?

Forza Milan!

It looks like a tough group when you look at it.

But I have seen Ajax 3 times this year (saw both of their CL qualification games against Kiev) and they don't look that good. Nothing for us to wary about if we play the way we can. We should be able to beat Ajax both home and away without too much trouble. Juventus knocked them out of the Europe League last year quite easily, and they haven't changed much since then. I just didn't see anything to warry about from them in the 3 games that I've seen (and by the way....maybe Van Der Wiel will have a couple of great games against us too, so maybe our management will decide to buy him next summer )

About Auxerre, I also saw their first game against Zenit last week and they didn't look good. Just a solid team, but nothing that should pose us big problems. As a matter of fact they were a little fortunate to make it through Zenit as they looked like the second best for the longer period of that game and Zenit could have won the game by a bigger margain. I also saw extended highlights of their return game yesterday and even though they won 2-0, they were lucky again as Zenit played with 9 men.....and even though with 2 players less Zenit still managed to create some dangerous chances.

So, no matter what happens against Madrid.....we are a much much better team then both Ajax and Auxerre. It looks like a tough group, but we should be getting out of it.

F*CK!
the draw is awful!!
it can destroy all our schedule..
we have 6 tough matches!

its hard to do well sunday-wen/day-sunday against not easy opponents
6 times like that!

and its really important to finish first so as to avoid a 16 tough again..

Guys, I am hearing from other places that the draw for this year is a bit different.

Group G has been coupled with Group D they say,

Meaning that the winning of our group will face the second place of group D, winner of group D faces second of our group.

Group D: Arsenal, Shakhtar, Braga, Patrizan.

can anyone confirm this?

Think about the confidence we gain by beating these teams! Playing games when we're winning against good teams is just a pleasure.

He probably wont even play. When is he supposed to be back from his injury??

Regardless, even if he plays he is the one we should be least worried about. He simply isn't the player he used to be a few years ago and these injuries are hampering his career more and more by the day. And with the players Real signed (Ozil, Leon, Di Maria, Canales) he isn't guaranteed a starting position. It seems to me that Kaka's career is taking the "Shevchenko path".

Having said that, Real has more then enough great players to worry us. And even though their defense hasn't been truly reinforced with players, it has been reinforced with Mourinho. He will ensure that the midfield protects the back line and will make sure that the team is not spread out everywhere thinking about attacking. He will keep things tight all over the field with will overall improve the "team defense".

I don't mind the tough group.
Let's not forget we always play better against big opponents in CL during the group matches. Its teams like Lille or Zurich that are causing us problems most of the times.

Don't know why you guys are saying this is a tough group, as beside Real, the other team are not at Milan level.
But thats a long way to go, as teams will experience through injuries, forms and other factors.

I'd rather play against Madrid now than on the knock-out stages. Mourinho is a master when it comes to this phase.

We can already see the die another day attitude he instills into everyteam he coaches from their friendlies. But I think they're not playing quite as a single unit yet.
