Samp net Borriello loan

Milan are making room in their squad for Alberto Gilardino after Marco Borriello joined Sampdoria on loan.

The former Under-21 international forward has moved to Doria following last season’s loan spell with southern minnows Reggina.

Milan are in the middle of reorganising their offensive options for the new campaign given the likely arrival of Gilardino (pictured).

The Italian international is expected to complete his move to the Rossoneri this summer, possibly by the end of this week.

Latest whispers in the peninsula claim that they will offer Parma £18m and the services of three players.

One of them could be Brescia striker Andrea Caracciolo, 12 goals this term, as Milan do have an option on his capture.

Gilardino may not be the only new attacker at the San Siro though as Fabio Bazzani is also being linked.

The target man could arrive from Sampdoria on loan after spending the last six months at Lazio.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti wants five attackers for the new campaign and they could be Andriy Shevchenko, Pippo Inzaghi, Hernan Crespo, Gilardino and Bazzani.

Danish international Jon Dahl Tomasson, a free signing from Feyenoord three years ago, is set to be sacrificed.

I wonder if Boriello will get any playing time with Samp. I don't remember him playing all that much this year.

he didn't find any space in reggina. So i think he will not find any space with the doria.

borrielo should have been loaned out to a team like palermo, or sampdoria instead of reggina in the first place. he is an awesome talent and should not be wasted. hopefully he will gain the experience he needs and ratchet up at least 10 goals this season and then we'll see next year
