we simply need to go for him. our LB's are old and Marek will never play. If he is that good - Leonardo will have some work to do!

18yr old left back scoring on his debut. That must add at least 6 more million to his price tag.

Now, the bad news... Falcăo(the King of Roma) said during the game, that it a guy spoked to it in the hotel, and said that was the assistent coach of Spaletti(sp?) in Roma(Falcăo said, but I don´t remeber the name)...and guesses what??? Said that was there(in England) because Roma wants a LB, and they are much interested in Marcelo. As I said some time ago, this kid is special...I know that we have Serginho, Kaladze, Janku in the LB, but to let a team like Roma buy this kid will be a huge mistake...I just can´t see a talent at LB position like Marcelo today... this kid is a physical speciman, but blessed w/ amazing skills even for a foward or OMD... BTW, Marcelo didn´t have amazing debut(the kid was a little shy), but it was very solid. But, puting in perspective, for a 18 years old debut in Brazil NT, it was great!! The pression of to play in Brazil NT is amazing...just look for Ronaldinho Gaucho |

Haven't seen the kid play, but im pretty sure that Milan know about him. Just read the first reply on this topic. Milan directors were watching the Fluminese game and that game Marcelo got the man of the match. Even if they were blind they would have noticed him in that game because he was the most active player according to the match report.
So if Milan are not linked to him, that means we do not want him. Sorry to break all your hearts. He really would have been a good replacement for Serginho as many have been saying. Brasiliero, but Roma cannot buy him now because the window is closed, right? When does his contract expire? Is there a buy-out clause? |

I don´t know when his contract expires, but I know that Fluminense directors wants to sell the kid(to make cash). If I´m not wrong, CSKA almost purchase Marcelo(and Leny) for 6 MIL...the problem a was that CSKA didn´t show a money guarantee... |

It makes sense for us (fans) to show an interest in Elano as Dunga keeps going on about how he will be the 'spirit' of the new Brazil team. If that's the case then it suggests that he'll feature heavily in Dunga's plans and who wouldn't want an important player for a national team? He seems perfectly capable of adding genuine quality to our midfield and improving our pool of central midfielders.
Same with Marcelo, he's on the rise so why wait to get him. How many people here have said they want Mancini, or that they wish we bought him first. Marcelo could easily be the same except a left-sided version, so why wait and let someone else get him first. Even if we loan him out to get first team experience in Italy or somewhere else in Europe, it'll be a good investment for us. I'm not going to say we absolutely need these players, but it just makes sense to be looking at an important piece in the Brazil national team and an up & coming talent. Why wouldn't/shouldn't we be interested?

I hope Roma don't get him.
Pasquale (for left-back) & Marcelo (for left wing and left-back ala Serginho) could see us fixed for the left side for many years to come.

We will sign Kaka, say Real Friday 8 September, 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Real Madrid have told Milan fans to expect a Kaka exit in the near future. “He will come sooner or later,” said director general Predrag Mijatovic. The Brazilian starlet was named as a proposed summer arrival by President Ramon Calderon before his election in June, but Kaka remained in Italy after extending is contract until 2010. However, Mijatovic is now ready to bet on the fact that the 24-year-old midfielder will one day play with the Merengues. “Kaka represented one of the promises made to our supporters by Calderon, who knows it would be important to have such a high-quality player on our team,” he told the AS newspaper. “During the summer we had several conversations with Kaka and his agent and I honestly believed that we could reach an agreement. “The player expressed his wish to come here and the complicated situation caused by the match-fixing scandal made me think that Kaka would finally land in Madrid,” he continued. “In the end, Milan did not allow him to leave and he preferred not to put any pressure on his club, which he is very fond of. “But we are sure that he will come sooner or later,” added the former Fiorentina striker. Mijatovic’s latest Kaka related statement is almost certain to infuriate Milan who declared war on the Spaniards this summer over their attempts to net the South American. http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...lia/sep8d.html

Milan block Kaka exit Friday 8 September, 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Milan have again warned Real Madrid to forget about signing Kaka. “If they want to strengthen, they must look elsewhere,” said chief Adriano Galliani. The latter made the statement after reading the comments of Real director general Predrag Mijatovic, who insisted the 24-year-old would one day join the Merengues. “I do not intend to cause any controversy, but we do not allow such behaviour,” stated Galliani. “We are not a branch of another club. “I met President Ramon Calderon and we spoke to each other,” added the Rossoneri official. “Milan are a great club with a great President and our recent history outweighs Real Madrid’s. “We are not in a state of psychological subjection, if the Spanish club needs new players then this is not the right place to come.” The former Lega Calcio chief has also insisted that Kaka has never asked to leave Italy, a reason why the South American extended his contract until 2010 in the summer. “Let’s take Chelsea as an example,” continued Galliani. “They chased Andriy Shevchenko for three years and we always said no. “A negotiation started with the Premiership club only when the player expressed his desire to leave, but this is not the case with Kaka.” Real Madrid, however, consider Kaka the only true alternative to the retired Zinedine Zidane and have not yet ruled out the idea of seeing him at the Santiago Bernabeu. http://www.channel4.com/sport/footba...lia/sep8g.html
