Biglia for 21+4m? Wow. We indeed are rich
I don't think Bonaventura should be untouchable in the starting lineup. We could do much better. Jack would be an excellent player for the squad, just not a starter if we want to aim for the Scudetto. He is far too inefficient.
Hopefully Rodriguez turns out to be good. The games I've seen him play he was alright, definitely better than what we have (although I'm a fan of Antonelli but can't seem to be able to stay healthy).
Donnarumma; Conti? , Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodriguez; Kessie, Biglia?, X; Suso, X, X
Let's go to the drawing board:
INCOMING
Musacchio 15+3=18
Kessie 5+23=28
RR 15+3=18
TOTAL 54m
ASSUMED BUDGET: 120m
CURRENT REMAINING BUDGET: 66m
RECEIVABLES
Bacca 15
Poli 3
Niang 12
Lapadula 10
De Sciglio 15
Zapata/Paletta 3
Montolivo 2
Gabriel 3
Petagna 5
Bertolacci 12
TOTAL 80
BUDGET AFTER RECEIVABLES: 146m
LINKED PLAYERS
Conti 20
Biglia 21+4=25
BUDGET AFTER CURRENT LINKS: 101m
POTENTIAL PAYABLES
POSITIONS TO BE STRENGTHENED + LINKED PLAYERS VALUE:
1 BENCH CB = ~10
1 STARTING CF = Morata/Belotti ~70
1 CF = Schick, Dembele ~35
1 LW = Keita ~25
1 CM = Tolisso ~40
TOTAL 180
BUDGET AFTER SPENDING ON EVERY POSITION REQUIRED INVESTING: 101m - 180m = -79m
In other words, our budget will need a 79m on top of the 120m for us to do what we intend to do. Basically a budget of 200m.
Lolsies. I got such a grin on my face writing that. It's so fucking refreshing having a budget after what we've been through. We fucking deserve this for all the shit we've gone through with the previous management. Damn it feels good knowing that we now finally have a chance to compete on the biggest stages again.
* Above calculations based on the assumption that the full price of the player gets taken into account for this year's budget. For example, I used 28m for Kessie instead of the 5m that we will pay this year only.
