IMO, that's two different things, that's why I didn't made an addition of both ...
The cost of the players on the next few years can explain why we agree to sell them and by taking new players who will be paid less, that will make some budget (transfers or others) higher the next years as our wage bill/budget will be lower.
The price of the player is pure profit for the club and can be used for many things : balance the books, transfers or increasing some budgets.
One should not speak ill of the dead.
