Has the word "butthurt" ever come up on this site?
You guy are being silly about Donnarumma. If I gave you 1000 to wash my car, would you do it? What if it had an Inter sticker on it?

You would say yes
Pellegatti is reporting that Milan will not be working with Raiola again in the future.

As long as I can wear my Milan jersey while washing it  Sagrin

On a more serious note, I don't think you example resembles the situation one bit...

That's completely irrelevant to the Donnarumma situation, it's not at all comparable
We're offering him 4.5 million euros making him the third highest paid goalkeeper in the world and he needs time to reflect on the offer? Fuk that shit. How the hell does he deserve to earn more than Courtois and Buffon? He's played one season for fucks sake. I just hope we can sell him for a crazy amount.
look who was in Monaco the night before last with Mirabelli, Donnarumma & Rialo, Petagna & Co.....a one Cesc Fabregas...Smile..heard about  the rumours coming from DiMarzio but i guess there's truth in them aftter all..i'd prefer investing in Anderson Talisca though...with the Colentin Tolisso train looking less likely by the day with him wanting Cl football i can't think of a better player for the left side of our three man midfield...he's a star/phenomenon in the making...someone plz tell the management to get their finger out and check his availability..plus we have a good relationship with Besiktas...for someone who's 191 cm, tall as an oak tree the guy is blessed with an unbelievable left foot, dribbles round  players for the laugh, a free kick specialist, a passing range second to none, scores incredible goals for fun, a team player and has one helluva an engine...he'd be a starter guaranteed in this new look Milan if we did...unreal like...

Hey all.

It's been a while since I've been back to the forum. Hope everyone's doing good. The Chinese era is here. Success is right around the corner finally. It'll require patience, but we'll get there. We finally have direction and goals to achieve with this new management. Very impressed with Fassone above all and the team he's forming. Anyways...

Totally agree

Does that mean we still have a block of money to use for more upgrades?
Guys, tell me again that our management is shit please. I need to pinch myself.....

And what's this I hear about us getting Biglia on a cheap because Lazio want to buy Petagna? What sorcery is this???

Indeed indeed. We don't really know if this 2 year loan deal will affect our transfer budget for this season or whether this is a play for FFP. Fassone has plenty of experience with UEFA from his previous work experiences and he's had two meetings with him already at Milan.

I don't think Lazio want Petagna.. Biglia is an experienced leader, a very important piece for Lazio - a direct rival for our objectives next year. 15m was usually the normal standard for players with a year left on the contract, players in their prime.. Biglia is 31 though. If we're willing to pay around 20 for him it means that's cash we know we're not going to be get back by reselling in the future so we must have a lot more where it came from.

You should never ever read tuttosport. They have always been wrong and they have a long track record proving it.

1) He shielded from understanding the gravity of his situation right now
2) He's clueless in how to appropriately respond to questions on his renewal right now
3) He simply doesn't care

I'm going to guess it's a little of both 1 and 2. Yesterday, apparently after the meeting he posted a picture of himself with Vincenzo Raiola, with a comment of "back to Milan". That picture alone to me is enough to understand that he doesn't really understand the predicament he's put himself in, because if he understood what he's risking here, that picture would never be close to being public.

Secondly, he's 18 and so I don't think fully understands the responsibilities of being someone who earns millions and has fame and extreme publicity. Therefore, when he responded "we'll see", I'm going to guess his thought at the time was he needed a placeholder comment while things are ongoing. However, the choice of words just compound the issue of seemingly being disrespectful.

When all things are said and done, I fear things have come past a point of no return and his relationship with the fans will be almost reparable. I've said many times, he needs to deal with this quickly, because people will continue to get more and more frustrated and I think the rumours last night was the last chance for things to be resolved without any significant backlash. Even if he signs, what happens from here? His relationship with the fans next season will be nothing short of damaged, but I'd also wonder how his teammates will feel about all this (specifically guys like Abate or Bonaventura who have shown far more commitment), never mind Montella who I don't think is particularly satisfied with his behaviour.

Great post, couldn't agree better. I know Gigio loves Milan and wants to stay, it's clear to me.. however Raiola's instructions to him on what to say to the media are ruining Gigio's image to a large part of the Milan fans. These are some of the consequences Donnarumma will get by closing this Raiola to represent him.

(06-02-2017, 08:44 PM)nefremo Wrote: [ -> ]This is exactly what Raiola wants. He wants to damage the relationship between Donnarumma and the fans. At that point, it will be SOOO much easier to take him away from Milan. It already is as a matter of fact.

My concern is in how easy Donnarumma has let this happen. Dev, don't think even for a second that the comment Donnarumma made yesterday was not "coached" from Raiola. Amongst all the drama, I am 10000% percent sure Raiola has told Gigio exactly what to say if reporters ask him about the renewal.

It's a shame that Gigio and his family didn't tell Raiola the same, and instead they've let him take Milan and the fans for a ride.

(06-03-2017, 09:57 AM)ACMILAN1983 Wrote: [ -> ]tbh nothing new in the latest reports as it was already reported the biggest sticking point was the clauses Raiola wants. I also think this story's been leaked, as it seems someone quoting Donnarumma as saying "I want to stay" is to try and calm the storm that's come out of all this. I'm generally in agreement with everyone who says Raiola engineering all this to eventually secure a sale elsewhere, but I'm mostly just annoyed at Donnarumma and those close to him (i.e. his family), for not taking steps to deal with the matter correctly and instead let a snake have his way.

Very true. The family must be held responsible for their (in)actions on this.

Not even close. Romagnoli is still very young and makes plenty of mistakes, Musacchio other than being extremely injury-prone inconsistent for Villareal, will have to adjust to Serie A. Rodriguez is coming off his worst season yet and Bundesliga isn't like Serie A, he'll need to adjust as well. Conti has had a great season this year, it remains to be seen whether he's a 1 season wonder or can back it up.

That would be insane if we signed Cesc. I'm all for Fabregas.

I agree regarding Talisca, he's a good player but I have no clue if they're even considering him.
a post I had at another forum thought I'd share my opinion:

The mercato has been very intense so far and we're only just getting started. I imagine that July and the first half of August will be quiet times. Mid August we'll get a big signing and another one at the last 3 days days. We are look set to have a revolutionary market with perhaps more than 5 starters signed.

Belotti has had a great year and a half however I worry about his technical abilities. He's a great finisher though but that may not be enough... I'll give you two examples of players like Belotti who had opposite directions in their futures: Inzaghi and Gilardino. Inzaghi's success speaks for itself, even at 36 years of age he had zero technical ability but his intelligence and passion made up for it. Gilardino on the other hand came to us after 2 spectacular seasons - very very reminiscent of Belotti's situation right now. Gila back then was claiming to be a Milanista and we desperately were looking for a reliable Shevchenko partner. He had an okay season but he really failed overall, he didn't give us what we needed despite scoring some sensational goals from all sorts of angles with Parma. We bought Gila for 24m and that was our big signing that summer. That was a failed deal in my books and he shouldn't have stayed longer than 1 season but we got stuck with him for a while.

The difference is that Belotti won't be our only signing... and that if we buy Belotti for 70m, we won't be able to cash in on him for a profit in the future - that's for sure. We're going to be paying the highest price he will ever be worth. Is that something we want? I don't know - depends on our financial capabilities. I've seen quite a lot of Belotti over the last 2 years cause I like the kid, but he keeps showing me that he may just be a much better Bacca. We don't just need our #9 to finish, we need them to do a lot more. This signing seems to me like an emotional signing because he's such a Milanista, it will create a lot of hype but it may not feel the technical need that the team requires. It'll sell jerseys though, just like the Honda deal, but will it he sufficient on the pitch?

We don't want to become like Inter, who just buy expensive players (Brozovic, Banega, Joao Mario, Gabigol) and just throw them into the starting 11 and hope they'd click. No. Players have to be compatible with one another and it's all about the team not the individual. Those players are all really good players but clearly, they're not playing as a team.

I don't know how will we play with 2 strikers if we have Suso starting... if we were buying 2 strikers, then Belotti could perhaps do well as long as he has a Dybala-esque type of player beside him (which is not Morata). I see Alvaro as a real CF, if we play him as a SS we won't be using him to the best of his ability. I disagree with Montella when he says Morata and Belotti are compatible. They may work only because Morata would be sacrificing by not playing in his natural #9 position in my opinion. A great partner for Morata or Belotti would be Keita Balde in my opinion - who reminds me a lot of Adriano (Inter).

We really need a great attacking midfielder to support Morata or Belotti, we don't have one right now. Cesc Fabregas is a fantastic creative midfielder that we desperately need in our midfield trio in my opinion, but we also need another attacking midfielder/trequartista to support the striker(s). Suso can be this guy but he's a bit one-dimensional with his left foot, we need a Rivaldo/Kaka/Rui Costa type of player. James Rodriguez/Isco/Pastore are interesting options. There actually are dozens of options out there we just need the right one. My preferred choice is Isco, James would be a big gamble. The dream though is Ousmane Dembele of Dortmund.

All in all, I'm not going to complain whoever we buy. We all complained for years for the lack of investment, now let's just let them spend and we'll judge them later. The players that I liked the most that we've been linked with so far are: Fabregas, Kessie, Keita, Biglia and Conte in that order. Those are players I like a great deal especially the first three who are impressive at every single performance they play. Then come the other inconsistent players that are risky: Morata, Belotti, Biglia, Musacchio, Ricardo Rodriguez (still better than all of our current fullbacks though).

Here is our current starting eleven for next year based on today:

DONNARUMMA

conti -- MUSACCHIO -- ROMAGNOLI -- rodriguez

KESSIE ------- biglia ------- XXXXXXX

SUSO -------- XXXXXXX ---------- keita

Conti, RR, Biglia, Keita still haven't been wrapped up but I hope we sign those 4. Then we have a CF (Morata/Belotti) and a midfielder left to buy. I'd also expects more signings to be made for the bench. And I expect Bonaventura to go to the bench next year, hopefully. He was the best of our poor midfielders in the Berlusconi era, hopefully Mirabelli sees all the disadvantages of Jack and will saye us from him. He should be used from the bench.

For CF, personally I would ditch both Moratta and Belotti and focus all my efforts on Alexis Sanchez. He's got 1 year left, he's leaving Arsenal, they don't want to sell him in England. Bayern & PSG definitely want him but why not us? Put in a 40m bid which is half the price we'd spend for Morata/Belotti, add the other 40m to our budget for a midfielder and get another world class player like Verratti or Ousmane Dembele. We still have an open channel with Dortmund after trying for Aubameyang but now that he's going to Paris, we surely can bid 45m for Ousmane?

My not extremely unrealistic dream signings:

Alexis Sanchez - 40m
Ousmane Dembele - 50m
Rodrigo Caio - 15m
Verratti - 75m
Cesc - 30m

Any one of these would instantly upgrade the quality of the team in my opinion.
Alexis Sanchez would be great and totally reasonable; I wonder why we didn't go all the way for him. He will cost much less than Morata or Belotti, and arguably better than both.
agree with alexis sanchez, he would be a monster here. a big name too.
