Summer Mercato 2011
i think galliani and allegri clearly know where milan's void is...........for a 4-3-1-2 system......its in the LCM and CAM positions where we now have seedorf/flamini and robinho/cassano respectively....based on this they have devised their transfer startegy....

plan A: LCM-fabregas/schweinsteiger for 35m and CAM-Kaka on loan with half of his wages being paid by real madrid
plan B: LCM-montolivo for 5m and CAM-pastore/ganso for 35m/30m respectively

for both these plans they will sell off either flamini/emanuelson and cassano to raise the money.

It's a shame to see Cassano lag behind so badly. I still think we are playing him out of position. But both of your scenarios would be a dream (except i wouldn't sell Flamini, I feel we have a use for a player like him).
Robinho is much better player than Kaka now, so signing Kaka doesnt make sense at all. also considering Real Madrid is not that stupid to loan him and paying half of his wages.

Regarding transfer market, Milan signed freebies quickly, then we are very slow. Just because we dont have plan for Mercato. For instance, Napoli signed player that they could sign to strength them regarding their needs, Gökhan inler, Britos and Dzemaili.

Milan won 2 scudetto in the last 10 years, this says it all. Barcelona won La Liga, Champions They have quality players, quality young players but they want to still strength their squad, cuz they want to win more... However whenever we have good generation, we always heard the same, we are good as we are, we are full of champions.

Our midfield is aged, slow and static thanks to wrong transfer policy. Which players did we sign for midfield? Flamini? Free agent. Van Bommel, free agent. Emanuelson, 6 months before his contract, low cost. Milan did nothing to invest in midfield trio, where that midfield trio is the heart of this 4-3-1-2 system.

Regarding big name signings, Both Barcelona and City were trying to get rid of ibrahimovic and Robinho. Guardiola didnt want him, Besiktas and Fenerbahce were fighting for Robinho last year. However Robinho rejected them. Milan were only interested team on ibrahimovic, because of his high wages. They are oppurtunities that cant be missed.
i posted an article about italian squad regarding mercato on july 15, 2010, on a Galatasaray forum's italian league section.

'' Barcelona is trying to get rid of ibrahimovic. Milan can loan him with option to buy'' i write down this sentence on july 15, 2010. More than 1 month ago that we signed ibrahimovic.

However its impossible to sign Basti, Fabregas or Pastore for us. Bayern wont sell him to us, Fabregas wants Barcelona, Arsenal is asking for 40-45 m euros, which is out of our reach if you ask me. Whats our reach? 24 m euros in 3 years or 4 years. Chealse, City and Real wants Pastore, Zamparini wants 45-50 m euros.

Preziosi said that Montolivo non serve a Milan. i think that makes sense. Even him knows Montolivo is not needed... Montolivo is not a mezz'ala, he would be good alternative but first we need starters.

Barcelona has Busquest, Xavi and iniesta as starters for midfield trio. Keita, Afellay, Thiago Alcantara plus promising young players for midfield trio. But they want to sign Fabregas as well. All of Keita, Afellay and Thiago Alcantara would be starters here. Afellay won a CL semi final game to them with his assists. Keita is solid player, Thiago Alcantara is a huge talent. if they dont sign Fabregas, they have a huge talent on Thiago, who can be heir of Xavi.

Sorry guys, but i have to be realistic. We cant compete with them. ibrahimovic fails at high tempo of CL, i reckon that Pato will be injured, whenever he returned, then he will be injured again. Robinho is big misser in high tempo. We have % 0.01 chance for winning CL.

Regarding Mister X, i remember the same kind of Mister X years ago. Milan signed Emerson as Mister X.
I don't think is fair to say Iba and Robinho fails in high tempo games since none of them really played on a team with a good midfield, while both of them were mostly used as a SS instead of striker.

i said that Robinho is big misser in high tempo of CL.

However ibra played as striker with Barcelona midfield. But he failed again.

Why? Maybe he is hours away from getting sold to Milan Tongue Devilol
I think we'll end up with Montolivo.Unless there is a 5 million over 9 years option on Pastore Hamsik or Fabregas.I'm not joking either.
Thing is Montolivo isnt going to make s difference at all.Hes a stereotypical Italian of the last 5 years slow cumbersome a bit overrated , a lot of even The young Italian players when playing in Europe or for Italy just look so slow as if there is lead in the boots.

Magic to happen hopefully.Gone are the early mercato rumblings of a great player a good player a present and Ganso Jan ..oh how I miss June .
It is clearly effecting us the finivest fine.
