Summer Mercato 2011
http://www.football-italia.net/jul28g.html no Cesc Schweiny Or Kaka and no mention of Hamsik or Ganso..but Montolivo he say yes well maybe ..I know it's Galli he says a lot of things , but I can only go by comments he actually makes.
Just Montolivo will mean we are the exact same as last year with a better backup CB in Mexes snd an upgrade at LB in Taiwo.

Not much of a change if that happens , but I guess we'll see.
If this is the last mercato we can spend big why not do it and I'm not talking Madrid/City big 50 million would get us 2 very good midfielders , I think with the sales last year playing in the CL and winning the Scudetto that 50 million wouldn't be the impossible dream.

Creativity in midfield is needed badly , all we have are bulldozers breaking up play and passing square balls. That constantly has our front 2/3 coming very deep to get the ball , or else the defense lumping long balls up to Ibra.
I know that the MGT sees and knows this , and it's a matter of players available snd money available.

Roma have to pay his wages (according to officially Roma's statement for 3.2 mil for 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. From their statement, it seems they have to pay 1.6 mi euros each season.

So, actually Roma gain nothing financially, even minus 2.2 mil euros if we add his wages.

Quote:A1. Since he struggles at Roma, it shows that Roma was smart not to pay for him TWO seasons ago, lets say he is around 15mil. Thus, Roma actually made a saving of 15 mil on a crap player.

This is the only positive point I can see from the deal, which is if he struggles with Roma or does perform really bad (his price decrease so deep which I doubt) since Roma get their money back (only need to play 2.2 mil for the wages). Barca have nothing to lose here, if Roma don't want to make a final contract with Bojan, Barca need only to give them 1 mil euros for 'training' Bojan.

Quote:B. If he is a solid contributor in Roma. I am sure both Roma and Barca will neg., a better deal than the 40mil. Since I doubt Barca wants someone who is just solid and okay in their attack in two years time, as Messi, Allefay, Pedro and Sanchez are all between 24-27, aka prime age while Villa is only 31. Given they don't sign anyone or promote any youngsters in the next two years. At the end of the day, Roma will probably end up with Brojin without coughing up 40mil, and lets say half of that. Yes, Roma might have to pay abit more than TWO years ago, but the difference is, Roma knows what they are getting instead of someone with great potential with chances of being a bust.

If we read Roma's official statement, there would be no negotiation. They have to pay 28 mil euros if they want to finalize the transfer of the player (three installments). So, Roma can only hope that Bojan shows a bit improvement in 2011-2012 (which should make Barca having no interest to pay 17 mil for Roma) and perform extremely well in 2012-2013. This is a very hard plan for Roma. If Borjan shows anything of good improvement, they could give Roma 5 mil euros in 2012. So, Roma actually have no control in this transfer since Barca have the first option (in 2012 while Roma's option in 2013).

If Barca want to give a free of 5 mil euros to train Bojan for one year, it means Bojan does show a big improvement. Barca do use their homeground player, like Iniesta who waited his chance until Deco's form decreased. In 2013, it is either Barca take Bojan for 13 mil euros or Roma added 28 mil euros for the first 12 mil euros (totally 40 mil euros).

Quote:C. He turns out to be the next Messi or someone at the top level. If that is the case, then 40mil is a bargain. True, that Roma could have sign him TWO seasons ago with 1/3 of the price but as I mentioned in B, it is a risk as he is an unknown. While this 40mil is on a sure thing. You won't need to guess how he will bend in with new surroundings or performs in a new formation...

Quote:I really don't understand why you would think Roma made a bad deal in all of this as long as they have the 40mil to pay Barca in two years. As the only way I see Roma loses out in this deal, is Brojin becomes a great player and can't afford to pay Barca that 40mil.

Roma is only a feeder club here since Bara have the control of the transfer. What chance for Roma is as I said, an average improvement in 2011-2012 and huge development in 2012-2013. This is not a good deal especially seeing how Roma intend to build a strong team since they only loan the player with Barca have the first option to buy the player.

Why are we talking about Roma?
This mercato thread is becoming a lot like an empty fridge...I keep opening and closing it doesn't matter how often or what time it's always empty.

At list still about mercato. Big Grin

Yeah, our mercato rumor is empty now. I think, all possible rumors have been blown up by the medias and they have now no clue to create new rumor about Milan.

Maybe the kid from Barca will be their new rumor. Let see. Big Grin

Can't wait until the day when I open the fridge and a six-pack of beer is there, or maybe something more exclusive... Devilol
On wages, lets say Roma buys the player now, they will have to pay wages anyway. Thus it is really not a loss at all.

At the end of the deal, I really doubt there will be no negotiation if Roma wants the player while Barca wants to sell the player and they both realize 40mil is crazy.

Another thing, even if Brojin plays great the next season and Barca willing to pay Roma the 5 mil in 2012. That would mean Roma would have a totally great free player for another year. Another way to put it, is Roma got a player for 12 mil and sell him for 18mil in two years. Thats a 50% increase in revenue in 2 years. Thats pretty good business.

I would not call Roma a feeder club in this deal as it really works both ways. As of today, Brojin is an unknown. He could be a bust at Roma.
Roma actually will gain 6 or 1 mil from this deal instead of say losing 12 mil in two years.

Personally, if Brojin is really that talented, why would Barca got Allefay and Sanchez in the span of 8 months, as these two players both played in the same position as Brojin.
You said Iniesta waited for his chance....but in fact, Iniesta was always feature here and there in the starting lineup. Then when Pep took over and Deco left, Iniesta started to play more and fulfill his potential. While you look at Brojin, even if Barca takes him back in two years time, where would he starts? In midfield, Barca will probably have Xavi, Cesc, Iniesta, Thiago, Sergio and Meacharno. While in attack, they will have Messi, Villa, Pedro, Allefay, Sanchez and even Iniesta can fill in.

I think in 2 years, BRojin will end up staying in Roma but it won't cost Roma 40mil.
If Barca indeed pulls out of the race (which already seems to be the case), we would be incredibly stupid to not sign Cesc for 40 million.

It's a very reasonable price considering he is young, a captain, world class and just the player we need.

Come on, we bought Nesta for 30 million when he was needed. 40 millions today might be even less than 30 mil back then. Angry

Actually 40 mil euros now should be more than 40 mil euro in the past if we see how strong EURO now AND how we have much money in the past (compare to lately situation where we have to make tight transfer fee).

For 40 mil euro I do doubt Milan can pay it without adding player(s) in that sum. Milan could probably give only 20-25 mil euro+player(s).

Anyone can translate or at least give important information from Galliani's quote below? Thanks before.

Forse".

[/quote]I think he says that in order to sign Fabregas we'd need to race with Barca which would only end up inflating the price and astronomical costs is something A.C. Milan does not want.
He goes on to say that Schweinsteiger is an icon in Bayern and he won't be signed.
I'm not sure about the Montolivo comment though.
