spot on. just because there's a 70 mill clause doesn't mean that's what he'll sell for... At the end of the day if we come along, and he want's to come. Fiorentina's options are to negotiate a sale or piss him off and he'll never sign a new contract and keep pushing to leave...
Using Joao Mario as an example. Clause 65mill - sold to Merda for 45 mill... the 65mill clause was simply to scare off most potential buyers so only the trully interested would jump in to negotiate a sale.

I highly doubt they will give him so "cheap" in this first transfer window. Of course ,it can happen that he turns into failure and leave for 20M in next few years ,but at this summer mercato he won't leave Viola for less than 55-60 M. If he leave.

I hope we stay away fro guys like this. Go for players that are in form, starting, and stars of their teams. Not ones that are struggling, have been out of form, never play at their clubs....and than we hope that they turn out great. I hope those days are over.

i'd love to sign at least one established mid (e.g. rakitic/isco/cesc) for 40m. problem is they wouldn't accept playing in the europa league and being coached by montella.

I don't think Montella is a problem. He might not be able to pull huge players because of his coaching history, but I don't think that players will NOT want to be coached by him.

The players I am talking about don't have to be Isco or Fabregas. Those ones may flat out reject the possibility of coming here until we are a stable environment. But there are plenty of others like Dahoud or Naby Keita for example, or Koziello, or even guys like Allan and Jorginho from Napoli. These are players that would raise the quality of the tea. And will surely come here I think.

i agree most of our targets (e.g. de vrij/tielemans/pellegrini/dahoud/bernardeschi/belotti) would accept being coached by montella as he's no worse than their current coaches. however, we still need a champion or two if we're serious about top 3. otherwise we'll always be outsiders for a cl place. unfortunately i don't see any of those types joining without cl and montella at the helm. unless they have nostalgic ties to the club like aubameyang, thiago silva of course.
