Anybody following Madrid pre season? How has Kaka been doing? Well no doubt that he's better than poor Clarence. When fit, that is. Sadly that doesn't happen quite often the last two years. And that's an awful news for someone whose game relies heavily on speed.
I remember Dinho has already lost his 20-25 meter sprint on his final year with Barca. The skill is still there, look at the numerous assists he made. But it's plain to see that he no longer has something that, in the past, make him a class apart from everybody else.

What's for sure, that we need not just a midfielder, but a trequartista as well. Looks like Kaká and Ganso are the ones left in contest for the role. Probably any of them would be an improvement on what we can offer in the role currently, but which of them would be better? Kaká, while clearly in decline, has big european experience, has Milan in his blood, but he is nearly 30 and injury prone. Also, he would come cheap, with probably high salary. Ganso, on the other hand, is still young, with the future ahead of him, he can be a long-term investment. Question marks come about his game beign fast enough for european football, and his rumored pricey release fee. His salary on the other hand would be significantly smaller than Kaká's. Not sure about Ganso's injury history though, I remember someone mentioning that he is injury-prone as well. The management is of course still in love with Kaká, but they regard Ganso highly too, with the Brazilian kid stating he is only interested in joining Milan.
It's a tough choice, I think I would lean towards taking a gamble with Ganso, but not for that price...

I think Kaka can only come with wage cut. Both Kaka with wage cut and Ganso with acceptable price are good, but I like Kaka more because we already have El Shaarawy.

Yeah, the El Shaarawy-factor came into my mind too, but then I imagined a future Milan containing two midfield maestros (Shaarawy/Ganso)... One with explosive speed and dribbling skills, and one with great passing and vision. It wouldn't be bad, if both talents justify their reputation

Well, 99 out 100 active players now are slower than Kaka in his prime. About Ganso, to be honest I only watched a handful games of him (Libertadores final and Copa America), of which there seemed to be a consensus that those performances were NOT of his standard. Somebody here likened him to Riquelme and I can see the point in this comparison.
Kaka is more of a dribbler, a quick treq who moves WITH the ball. Ganso is more of a passer. If there's something quickly in him then I'd say it's his brain. While he didn't exactly impress me in CA matches, I acknowledged his ability of spotting tight spaces through with he can deliver a killer pass. I think most, if not all, of his assists were of this kind of passes, converted by Neymar. Considering the style of the strikers at our team (and we have every style available: the quick one, towering one, wasteful one  ) I think he can improve our overall quality more than Kaka.

In terms of Milan, we most certainly need a better ACM & LCM. Only 1 of Seedorf/Gattuso should play at once, and preferably Gattuso. However, they should be used mostly as super subs to bring something different in 2nd half.
I am rather shocked we may actually go through with buying Kaka, (6ft, thick hair),, if he's Mister "X" I think everyone will be disappointed, not happy. His form is not what we need and bringing back old stars never works. Could be a huge, huge, mistake.
