At this point, I'm leaning towards keeping the money and not extending the deadline any further. Even if that means we're stuck with Silvio for another few years. The Chinese are WAY too shady for this to be a transaction we are all expecting - huge funds for transfer market etc.
Just end it. (03-23-2017, 09:49 AM)Stitch Wrote: At this point, I'm leaning towards keeping the money and not extending the deadline any further. They're shell companies and the structure is said to be very complex. I am 10000000000000% sure this is THE biggest football-related money laundering operation ever. Silvio is playing us all, he just wants his Chinese money back in Europe without paying capital gains taxes.

The money laundering thing just doesn't seem legit to me. You do not launder money by bringing world media attention to it. Silvio has enough fines to worry about....I don't think he would be that stupid to take on some more. But, maybe. We'll just have to wait and see.
There are clearly problems with this takeover. That much is clear, and even if the media doesn't know details and are just making up shit half the time, they are on to something. The problem for us is that it seems like the media themselves don't know what they are on to....so they keep guessing and making up headlines every day while circulating the same stories over and over again only in slightly different wording and context. As I said a couple weeks ago, although I was joking at the time, there is a very good reason as to why neither Fininvest, Silvio or Galliani, nor SES have given any dates. Clearly, the grounds are there for this thing to drag on for a lot longer and they don't want another media circus on "closing day". So simple, they have not given the "closing date" after this last delay. In other words, NO DATE = NO DELAY. But the media won't let it go so they keep throwing out dates, saying if the money doesn't come by Friday, the deal is off. Then Friday comes and goes, and they say if the money doesn't come by Tuesday, the deals is off. On and on and on and on. What I don't understand is, why would SES pay an extra 20mil? (if they actually paid it to begin with) It doesn't make any sense. If you are in the hole for 200mil already and you are risking losing it because you don't have investors, than why put another 20mil in the hole?? The only explanation I can come up with is that they are simply buying time. Why they are buying time can have many reasons. Time to find new investors maybe? If that's the case, it will take some time as anyone who is willing to invest this much money will take their sweet time with their lawyers to look over every single detail in the documents. This is a big mess.....such an embarrassment. |
