I don't think EL has slowed the mercato. I think more than anything, it's just a combination of:

1) We've already got most of the signings in place and only need to focus on 2-3 now with time to negotiate
2) Teams have driven up costs for those players (particularly the strikers) with unreasonable demands
3) We've had to focus efforts on trying to get rid of a few players, particularly the likes of Bacca, Sosa and probably Paletta
4) The Chinese tour meant F&M were out of Europe for a while.

i also love the fact that f+m are freezing sosa, bacca and paletta out of training so they get the message. galliani would be personally massaging their feet and spoon feeding them meals at milanello out of fear of upsetting them.

i can't speak highly enough of f+m. it seems we have 2 masterminds running the team EXACTLY the way us fans always dreamed.
