It would be a great step in his career to go to Barca......but he won't be anything than the last option in their midfield.

Yeah, he probably won't be too high in the pecking order, but on virtue of how many games they play, I still think he'd get opportunities to play. I just found it funny when seeing the rumour as there were a lot of arguments against not getting him 2 years ago because he was deemed mediocre (which is quite a statement when we were in midtable obscurity).
I guess I'm pretty pleased for him.

Did anyone see the first leg of the Spanish super cup? I was pretty surprised how comfortable Real were against Barca, a few incidents aside they were in control.
What was interesting to me was that on a technical level the teams are ahead of pretty much anyone in Italy, which is expected especially in Real's case as they're the best team in the world right now. That said, when watching either of these two play I never feel we're too far from reaching the levels of these teams. They rely very heavily on the qualities of individuals to get results than being outstanding teams. I was one of those people.  I kind of still think that!  About the game......I think the gap is in the midfield mostly, but also in the backline. Let's just say that Barca won't bridge this gap with Soriano.

Yeah agree on your point about Soriano, but I think he's a decent utility man to have. I think he's a little underappreciated in Italy.

Barca getting humiliated by Real tonight, it's embarrassing so far.
Real Madrid is scarily strong now. Not liking it. (Ramos is such a cunt too.)
Though I certainly hate Barcelona even more. EDIT: Ramos did this. Absolutely uncalled for.

Apparently this game was also the first "El Clásico" in the past 32 (since 2008) that Barcelona lost in possession as well. I have such a mixed feeling. Any day that Barcelona lost is a great day, but too bad it was Real Madrid.
