True, maybe the reason Milan didn't exhibit much urgency to get another midfielder is because they expect more production out of Urby. However, Galliani explicitly said during the mr x nonsense that we would sign one midfielder only and that midfielder would be a LCM (urby's position). That doesn't sound like they had much faith with him at the end of last season. Maybe he impressed them this preseason???
honestly, its a good mercato for me. i didnt want Milan to sign Kaka or Ganso, because, Santos is asking 50 m euros for Ganso ,Real wants 50 m euros for Kaka according to their newspaper AS, also considering Kaka is earning 20 m euros a year with taxes. He is injury prone and in decline since 2007. i wanted Pastore, however it was so hard considering 43 m euros transfer fee.
What Milan needs was box to box players, 2 way midfielders. Milan signed Nocerino whos a good box to box midfilder, fighter typee, strong and good with the ball. Aquilani is a 2 way midfielder. El Shaarwy is talented kid. Taiwo is a beast. Mexes adds depth to our defence. We got rid of Oddo, whos old and earning good wage though we reduced it a bit by renewing his contract.

The rejuvenated process has started!
Nocerino will replace Gattuso
Aquilani will replace Ambrosini
Montolivo will replace Pirlo (I think in January or June)
Ganso will replace Seedorf
Our midfield in 2003.
Seedorf, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Kaka
Our midfield in 2012.
Ganso, Montolivo, Aquilani, Nocerino, El Shaarawy
What Galliani wants to do is logical, he wants to create a same powerful midfield than we had in 2003-04.
I think in 2012. we can say we have a very good midfield, which has potential and can do great things!
Potentially Aquilani can be better than Ambrosini, Nocerino can be better than Gattuso, Ganso can be better than Seedorf (both slow but creative), El Shaarawy can reach Kaka's level, only Montolivo will not reach Pirlo's but he is not a bad alternative either, has less vision and creativity, but compensates with space!
So without spending big, we can still reach the level of 2004.
And don't forget we also have Boateng, Merkel, and who knows who else is coming next year...
I forget to mention, that we have Emanuelson and Flamini as well!
So our next year's (future) midfield looks like the following:
El Shaarawy, Ganso, Montolivo, Aquilani, Boateng, Flamini, Nocerino, Emanuelson, Merkel, Strasser
Young and looks good to me for 4-5 years!
Knowing this we can calmly get rid of Seedorf, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Van Bommel next year without worrying too much!
Dont know much about Nocerino, but glad we signed someone.

anybody thought it is odd we have left the Non-Eu place open, surely we are expecting something in January?

I think it's more about having flexibility than having someone already in mind to spend it on. If you can save non EUs for January transfers, you should...

Wow Milan is so cheap.....Mister X is Antonio Nocerino LOL
Can Someone ask Galliani where is Mister X? Who is Mister X? Can the Media step up to the plate and grow some balls and ask him who the hell has he been lying about?

I would LOVE that!

What does this have to do with balls? Simple fact - they don't care.
The media has the balls to blatantly make up stuff, so surely they would have balls for something mundane likes this.
The problem is - noone cares about Galliani's mind games, except for the fans that hoped for world class reinforcements. If Milan was on top of Europe, maybe they would pay more attention to his stories. But right now it's all about Barca or Real.

so with all this talk about who we should buy i still see some familiar unwanted players in our squad!!!
NOT A HAPPY MILAN FAN
