Congrats to both him and Weah, who also recently had political success as he became president of Liberia.

Quite a few ex-Milan players have political ties, though these two are some of the more prominent examples.

Is George Weah confirmed? I read that it won't be decided until October 25.

Yeah sorry I made a mistake, while he won the election he didn't get the majority needed so will have a runoff election (I think early November). He's favourite to win so chances are what I said will be true in a few weeks

Not sure how many posters will remember him, but Marco Simone gave some thoughts on Milan and even suggested the possibility of being open to a return to the club.

Apparently he offered himself to work in the youth sector, but so far hasn't had an answer. Not sure when it was proposed so whether it was under Berlusconi or the current management.

For those who don't know, Simone was a striker for the club during the 90s (I think he joined during the Sacchi era). He was small, quick and technically a very good player. He also struck up a great partnership up front with Weah. I tend to remember him best from the 94/95 season, which he was at his peak.

I'm generally for old players returning, but they need to have the skills to contribute. I know Simone's been coaching since retiring, though I have no idea about his ability.

Came across something awesome, the finals for the European Cup victories in 1963 and 1969 are on Youtube. I watched the 1969 final, which was a fascinating match, as it was Ajax with Total Football being nullified by Milan's Catenaccio. It's the first time I think I've seen Catenaccio in full force (in a full match) during it's peak in the 60s and must say it was actually spectacular to watch. 

Individuals on display in that match were Rivera, Trappatoni, Lodetti, Prati, Schnellinger and many more. A classic side.



Looking forward to watching the 63 final, at which point I can happily say I've watched all of our European triumphs in full.
