Speaking as a biased American, I don't think you know all that much about what you are talking about. The whole point of naming the championships some kind of "world champion" are two fold. First, it is very good marketing; and secondly, it is kind of reflective of the truth as well. American sports leagues like to make their championships sound important, because it helps them attract viewers. Calling the baseball championship "World Series" is much more attractive to random viewers than calling it "American Baseball Championship game". 

The "World" aspect is also fairly relective of the reality of the sport. Whether you like it or not, American sports leagues like MLB, NFL and NBA feature the best athletes from all over the world. It is not a world championship because every team in the world came here to compete, but rather the best players from the world came here to compete.

The money aspect is real indeed.. i do not deny that.. its the fancy misleading titles they glorify themself with that i find extremely humourous..

I seriously doubt that the best players in the world competed in the NBA for example.. when was the last time America won the olympic gold for basketball for e.g.. and from the teams that actually did, did any or much players in the top 3 teams competed in the NBA..? Any: yes.. Much: no.. if i am not mistaken.. it was only 3.. from a collection of 3 teams.. 
For NFL.. everyone else in the world plays rugby.. for MLB.. other than Japan and maybe Taiwan.. i've never heard of any other nation playing baseball.. cricket yes.. this based on my travels to the few countries i been to ( China, Japan , Saudi, India ) for work and holidays.. its non-existant in South East Asia guaranteed.. i wont be suprised if they start naming the MLS winners World Champions too if Messi and Cr7 moved there pre-retirement in their late 30s.. its a good marketing strategy.. yes.. but the Americans i encounter while playing video games online on Cpu or xbox always hype up their team to unbelievable levels and gloat non-stop about being champions of this and that.. as if its a true undeniable fact.. unfortunately im still friends with them because i need them in the games i play to boost my rankings ( dota2, cs:go, pubg )..
Speaking of which.. i hope milan too invest in cybergaming following the footsteps of PSG.. they fully sponsor a Chinese powerhouse team in Dota2.. LGD.PSG.. if we are going the American route, i hope to see a Team Liquid.AcMilan or Liquid.Rossoneri

Back on topic of our beloved Milans financial situation, i dont look forward to American ownership frankly.. seeing what happened after the Glazer takeover of Man Utd and Kroenke at Arsenal.. Man Utd was shit without Ferguson leadership and the year right after he retired proved it imo.. United was shit for so long till Mourinho.. i fully accept that we might be better off with the Americans though rather than the League of Shadows ( as someone mentioned lol ) fronted by Li Yonghong

I really couldn't care less about how Americans name their sporting competitions. It's simply marketing and hyperbole, it has no meaning. That, in addition to I have zero interest in pretty much every sport that's popular in the US, means it really isn't something that's going to ruffle my feathers.

Now getting back to Milan, it seems today we'll understand a lot about the likely future of where the club is head, but not everything. The situation as I understand it is as follows:

- Li has to pay the remaining 32m he owes this month by 5pm
- If he doesn't pay, Elliot will cover the cost and effectively start the process to take over
- This means Li has 10 days (I think) to repay Elliot. If he doesn't, they take the club
- Li, and Han Li, are negotiating with an American group (the Ricketts family?) to effectively sell the majority share of the club, meaning Li could remain a minority shareholder but we have new owners and they deal with the debt with Elliot (probably as part of the deal they strike with Li, who would probably take a loss)

Is this correct or have I missed anything?

I think within two weeks, we'll have significant clarity on our future or at least Li's involvement in the club.

I  pretty sure it was 32m to the club by the end of this month.. if Li doesnt pay up, Elliot will.. from there, Li will have 10 days to repay Elliot back the 32m..
There isnt any clarity who the new investors are at the moment because there are 2 options.. One of which is the Ricketts family.. i dont think it will be as major investor immediately though.. in a couple of years probably.. i dont see Li wanting to take a big loss after just 1 year.. that is on top of the efforts to grow Milans stature and presence in China.. he's spent or is planning to spend 100m on smth there like a sports park or some sort of facility..

I dont think this will be resolved anytime soon.. only our immediate standings in uefa's view..

2 weeks seems very optimistic, Li might be out of the picture sooner but future ownership and who exactly will take over I am fairly certain we will be scrambling to have clarity by the end of the transfer window.
