Milan have submitted their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. They await the final verdict, to be voted on by the 3 appointed judges on July 19th. [@Corriere]
Milan's case is based on three arguments: 1) They have been made liable for the financial mess that the previous ownership left the club in, 2) Previous precedents in which the breaking of FFP rules were handled with more leniency...
...and 3) The Milan management should not be held accountable for the modification of the initial business plan as it was changed out of necessity rather than the financial inability of the club's ownership [@Gazzetta_it].
With the Commisso deal now in question, the Ricketts family are hopeful of re-entering their bid to purchase Milan. [@Corriere]
I would prefer Commisso over the Rickets because he seems to want to spend immediately. The Rickets seem to take a longer route, which isn't wrong by any means, but it also means that we are looking at several more years of our objective being 4th place rather then the title.
I don't really like the Rickets they don't have the money to spend big time. So we'll have to wait a few years before even reaching some relative succes like reaching 4th spot. Eventually we'll get there though as I'm sure they're serious but imo with them competing for the Champions League is so far away we can't even talk about it. Offcourse with Commisso we also have to wait for this succes but it will come quicker.
I wouldn't be worried about the Ricketts not spending to be honest. These guys know sports and realize the European soccer system is vastly different than the American systems. The Ricketts are not coming in and preach about how we need to do well in the draft in order to improve the team organically through our farm system. They will spend the necessary amount to get the team back on track, with perhaps more emphasis on building a strong youth system and making sure it is a sustainable business model.
Commisso is a cool dude, but he seems a little high strung for my liking. He reminds me of Berlu in so many ways, and that is not what i want for this team, truth be told. The last thing I want for this team is another hot headed owner who is going to invest like crazy for one period and then completely cuts us off the next. This team never learnt to function as a proper business under Berlu because of his erratic spending, and we are now suffering big time because of it.
Rocco Commisso’s offer does not completely satisfy Yonghong Li and Li will therefore pay the €32 million capital increase to Elliott by Friday. [Gazzetta]
the one who said li will complete the 32mln by friday, i doubt it, i think he will ask for a postpone once more, just like he always did.
