Winter Mercato 11'/12'
we are lucky that inter is not as strong as the last 4 years....every team in serie-a has become weaker (except Napoli may be....), Napoli are the only chance italy has got this champions league...realistically speaking they can go upto the semis at the least...

That really is an exaggeration. Napoli are good but they're not a top team, I have no doubts we're better than them even though we were well beaten by them a few days ago (last season Cesena beat us just as well, but it doesn't mean they were ever better).

We shouldn't panic right now. Injuries are killing us and we're forced to rely on players we don't want to (e.g. Seedorf), but this game against Udinese really showed progress in our performances. Patience is vital at this point.
I think some fans dramatize the injuries Milan have. Milan do have injuries but they still have players who can compete with the starters and are better than other team have. We lost Ibra and Robinho but we have Pato and Cassano. Both are proven in Serie A. In midfield, only DMs are injured, one was starter (Gattuso), others are backups (Ambrosini and Flamini). The injury in defense should not give big problem for Milan since the team are same like year, only missing Taiwo. What could be a big missing is probably Boateng but we have Aquilani, who was not here last year and Merkel needed to play there.

Seedorf is still starter. I can't imagine he has a bench role since he is the only one the creative midfielder and player who does ball possession well we have.

What were lacking is the hungry, the spirit and the motivation like last year. Seedorf is not the Seedorf we saw in last games of Serie A. Bommel has similar problem. Pato is still lazy to help the defense (to press the opponent when they got ball), Bommel even yelled to Pato to go press the opponent in the game vs Napoli.

We should not only think the players we are missing but also the players we have, the quality of the players right now. It is a joke if a draw is a good thing against what? Udinese in San Siro? The club who missed many players and SHOULD ACTUALLY need more time to be able to give their best?

The players mostly didn't give their best even Abbiati made a unbelievable 'save' to make thing worse. Allegri is first to be blamed since he is the first one who is responsible to keep the motivation of the team, the hunger of glory of the team. The next one we all know, Galliani who just let Pirlo go and force Seedorf to play every game!

Milan with players right now should be MUCH BETTER than right now. What we have been achieving until now in Serie A is a joke!

Like ACMILAN1983 said, the last game against Udinese shows that this squad is improving. You are right, this squad is still competitive, but they have overcome a lot of problems - never playing with each other, high average age and hence veeeery sloooow play.

BUT. We do have Aquilani, but Boateng is something much more important to the team. It's silly compare these two players, if anything they should play together on the field. Boateng has the speed, grit and technique that we miserably miss in the last games. While Aquilani has passing ability and ability to make the final touch. These two should the starters imho.

Besides, Robinho is EXTREMELY important for Milan. He is extremely helpful in both offense and defense (again - something we miss in the last games). Cassano plays in the same position, but he has completely different characteristics.

The problem with our super subs is that the players can't be directly swapped, because they have different characteristics, and this ruins our system.
We need to maintain the core squad in order to succeed, while mixing in other subs for rotation purposes.

The core should be -

Robinho - Ibra - Cassano / Pato
------------ Aquilani / Boateng--------------
Ambro / Gattuso --- MVB--- Boateng / Nocerino

And regarding Seedorf - he is just TOO DAMN freaking slow to be a starter now.
When we play with dynamic midfield - Boateng, Robinho, Emanuelson... i guess Seedorf CAN be used up front.
But when our midfield is old and slow, Seedorf is just an annoying liability.

p.s. Hopefully in Winter mercato we get at least Montolivo (for free of course Big Grin), and then our rejuvenation will be almost complete. In summer we will have to sign Hernanes / Ganso and we are competetive on all fronts.
Considering his fallout with Fiorentina, Montolivo will almost certainly come, since Galliani has an epic hard on for this sort of signings.
I just hope we have 20-25 mil for Hernanes / Ganso. Sad

p.s.2. It will be nice to see Milan feature an almost complete Italy NT squad. Big Grin

Okmilan we should also get a striker in the mold of a Luis Fabiano, Hulk, Sheva etc... one who can jump with defenders, dribble past two defenders and create his own goals, and NOT PRONE TO INJURY!!!

The only realistic option would be Tevez or Balotelli... maaaaybe Rossi... Though, Man$ / Villareal won't let them go for cheap.

With Ibrahimovic, Pato, Robinho, Cassano, Inzaghi & now El Shaaraway, you are ALL wasting your time talking about bringing in another striker.

yes we should have a conversation about Pato and his inuries. They are concerning. But IMO the issue is midfield, and has been for quite some time. With Barca/Real/ManU's midfield yesterday, Pato would have scored in the little 20 minutes he was on the pitch... AND, if you look at his goal/game ratio and minutes/goal ratio, he's already better than Del Piero, Totti, Baggio, etc...

I do agree with you. I think Pato in Barcelona or Real would ****ing destroy all opposition.

But Ibra is 30, and we have no real alternative for him. We need to have at least a sub for his position imho.

i do agree with with Pato and his stats but how much more down time can we deal with before we call time on him...for a kid his age he is too soft... i am fep up with his injuries... however i am not one bit impressed with Cassano... actually he has no shoulders to carry Milan in times of need and i see where he lacks confidence in front of goal... he has no fight in him... he is like a toothless dog... i saw him infront of goal and he pass instead of shoot on more than one occasion... i am not saying he is not trying but with "my" expectations of this team his efforts are way below par... same for many other players... i think we can play better with 10 players than with Seedorf in our 11...

and then when you look at the actual amount of games he can actually play, he looks like hargreves. i say time to sell pato.....better he plays well somewhere else that be shit and injured here.
