A study of the Juventus accounts has shown precisely how much Milan and then Chelsea spent on Gonzalo Higuain’s six-month loans.

The striker went out on what was meant to be a one-season loan to Milan in the summer of 2018, but moved on again in January to Stamford Bridge.

Calcio e Finanza have looked at the published Juventus accounts and calculated how much these brief expeditions cost the various clubs.

The site found that Milan spent €10.28m, not including the Argentine striker’s salary, for him to make 22 appearances and score eight goals.

Chelsea had a less onerous experience, as they paid Juventus €7.841m for his 15 competitive games and five goals.

Again, that figure does not include the months of Higuain’s salary.
