Rangnick rumours gathering steam again. Of course, it's due to the fact that he didn't distance himself from the club when interviewed.
At this point, i'd say the fact he's on the verge of taking over isn't just a rumour anymore. I'm thinking it's more or less a sealed deal that just isn't announced yet, and it won't be until the current season is done and settled. Even Scaroni himself saying that the club is looking to restart with young players. It all falls in line with what Rangnick is about, and we all know what that means....young players that none of us have probably heard about before.
As i've said before, i'm ok with that. Excited even. Scaroni's words yesterday about Milan trying to get players able to play fast tempo as in the PL and technical and fearless as the Ajax of a couple years ago made me even more excited. I'm all for it. And if this is the direction we wanna go, that's perfectly fine. Just let Rangnick work, and most important of all, give him time and show patience. He's done this before. He's built from scratch and has had success with it.
The old Italian style of overly analyzing tactics, over-utilization and over-reliance of older, experienced players hasn't beared fruit in years now for Italian clubs. I don't disagree with Maldini when he says no italian team has managed a scudetto with kids. He is right. But we don't need half the team to be older. We need a couple of experienced characters. The rest can be hungry, fearless, younger players. And just because nobody has done it before, doesn't mean it can't be done. Look at Atalanta. No they are not winning the Scudetto, but the way they play has revolutionized the Italian football mind. They are fearless. Play the same way home and away. No big names. Just hard work and following of the tactical plan from every player. With our resources, which are significantly larger than Atalanta's, if we were to follow a similar path, there is no reason why we can't challenge for the scudetto.
There is something exciting about the unknown. About being linked with unknown players that clearly have potential. It's like discovering a talent in Football Manager.
