Speaking of Mazen... where has he been.

In a mediocre Milan, he was a bright spot. But he could never make the step up to bring up others around him and make them better.

Yeah, ultimately he was the best of a bad bunch. Thanks Jack, but can't say I'm sorry to see you go.

Curious to see how they form the team for next season. Rumor is that Rangnick wants a Milanista in his staff.... would be disappointed to see Paolo leave... but I’ve come to terms with it and acknowledge that we need that kind of wide ranged experience here. Once stability is found within the squad, we will thrive because we have a solid base of players.

I am however curious to see how Rangnick’s style would work in Serie A. That’s the biggest bet in all this, besides this part, Rangnick is a sure upgrade in every other sporting aspect for the club. Not only football results but the base throughout the Milan teams and schools worldwide because we do have a wide network of Milan schools. Have you heard of his injury record last season? 0 injuries all season? Now that’s how you combine technology into sport. We need that kind of expertise at Milan.

If he can replicate that at Milan then that's a huge deal. That alone would make it worth every cent.

That's what I wanted to say but my dark humor generally get's me in trouble so let that one go.
According to the latest from TodoFichajes.com, the Rossoneri have set their sights on Mustafi who would have an asking price of around €10million, an affordable figure for Elliott Management.

Thiago Silva wants a return to AC Milan this summer. Either retire at Milan or in his home country. Thiago Silva's return to Milan would not be a matter of money.

LaLaziosiamonoi report of Lazio's interest in AC Milan's 19 year-old centre-back Gabriele Bellodi.
Currently on loan at Crotone, Bellodi has got his professional career off to a solid start and it is said Lazio DS Igli Tare would like to sign him and let him develop in Salerno.

It has happened many times but one example that I always I remember is an interview where Lippi, who was a coach in China at a time, giving tactical advice about Milan. With his job half way across the world the guy shouldn't even have time to watch Milan. In a similar sense, the only thing Rummenigge and Rangnick have in common is that both are German. Rummenigge is also a former Inter player (way back in the 80s). I am not sure what is the point of someone asking him about Milan. There are many people who work in Leipzig management, interview them.
Why isn't Gazzetta interviewing one of us here on MM? Big Grin

Even Pep Guardiola policy was criticized initially at Barca.

100%

Everyone has an opinion, obviously. Rummenige has done good things, both as a player and director. But it doesn't mean anything for us. Boban also had plenty to say when he wasn't part of Milan. Look how that turned out. There are influences out of your control. For Boban, for example, it was Gazidis (that apparently impeded his ability to do the job as he saw fit. For Gazidis, it might be Elliot. And for Elliot, it might be economy/investors/etc.
My point is...it's impossible for Rummenige, Lippi, Boban before...or whoever else to talk about our situation.

Having said all that...I actually agree with what Rummenige said and that all this could have been maybe handled differently., and maybe Maldini could have collaborated with Rangnick. But we don't know the details. Maybe that approach was taken. We also know that Maldini, as much as we all love him, wants full autonomy. He's said this much himself.

This us no longer a club run on relationships and history. I think that's the biggest change we are seeing from Elliot. This is now a business (and this is what football has become, so can you blame them?). A business like any other. Any other company has a CEO, has a CFO, has directors, has managers, has staff and workers. Budgets are set and alligned with goals. If goals aren't met, people are replaced with other that is believed to be capable of.meeting those goals. This is the simple reality. Why did Boban flip out when he found out Gazidis/Elliot contacted Rangnick??? In any other business (and like I said, this is what we are), CEOs probe and are always on the lookout for capable people...especially if things aren't going as planned. They don't go to the CFO and tell him that "Hey, I'm keeping an eye out on what's out there and might replace you". I mean, in what world did Boban think that this is owed to him?

IF we want Milan to get back to where it was, treating it as a business is the only way. There are no big billionaires lined up to buy Milan as a hobby. And even if there were, FFP limits them in what they can do. Growing revenues is the only way. In football, the fastest way to more revenue is results on the field (titles, CL, exposure that leads to sponsorships, etc). In order to get results, you need good players.
1) "ready made" players
2) "unknown" talented ones and make them "ready"
3) somehow come up with a mix of 1 & 2

#1 costs a shit ton and no way we can do that with our revenues.

The choice is between 2 & 3. Seems that we tried #3 this past season. Due ti a series of things, it hasn't quite worked out. Could we give it more time? Sure. But this is what Owners and CEOs are for, and they've decided to shift the strategy to #2.
ok, everyone has different opinions, me inclusive. we dont have to agree, yet, lets give the new project time and see what happens. we tried many different options in the past years, none worked. lets see what rangnick will do. i surrender until december.

I still hope that everyone will come to their senses and find a way for the 2 (Rangnick & Maldini) to collaborate. And when I say everyone to come to their senses, it includes Maldini too.
