Summer mercato 2020
"The clause has been confirmed by Calciomercato". That is the only line in that article that gives me confidence that it might be wrong. Calciomercato is quite possibly the crappiest source out there. Anyway, losing our best midfielder (and one that is only going to massively improve going forward) for 50mil 1 year after we signed him due to a release clause, would be the biggest defeat in Paolo's directorial career. More so than hiring Giampalo.
I doubt PSG will bid Bennacer for 50M as they also have to buy a LB, RB, as Kurzawa and Meunier are leaving and plus a replacement for outgoing Cavani, buying Bennacer, is a luxury for them, not a necessity. But I think we might lose Benna to Man City
Forza Diavolo ale!!!
Why have we not heard of any release clause until now?
Also, with no UCL, and essentially being watched at their every step, I'm not sure City would be spending 50m on anyone without selling off some players first.
Besides Koussi, Milan are also monitoring two more PSG academy players: the defender Thimothée Pembele and striker Arnaud Kalimuendo.

Milan and Roma eye Ajax starlet Gravenberch
Forza Diavolo ale!!!
You do have to wonder if Bennacer would leave Milan, where he's a regular starter, after just one year to join a team where he's likely to not get the same amount of playing time though. A release clause is one thing, but a lot also depends on the will of the player. For now I'm choosing to be confident about this - players with a near guaranteed spot in the starting 11 actively wanting to leave the club is fortunately still a very rare thing at Milan.

Not only that but for the release clause to be activated, it needs to be 50m up front. not a deal over x amount of years or anything like that.
I'd be looking at giving Bennacer a new deal minus the clause TBH.

This is true. It has to be cash up front otherwise Milan doesn't have to sell.

Bennacer has always had great words of appreciation for the club. I don't think he'll be so quick to just leave. But we have to make this right. Show him that he's a center piece of this project. Extend his deal at a higher salary and get rid of the clause. Or at least make it much much higher.

... and make sure that he does not pick Raiola as his agent. Otherwise, only the high salary would be achieved. There would be a clause, and at a much lower rate.
Interesting interview with our Chief Revenue Officer - Casper Stylsvig. Touches on the importance of the new stadium and the revenues it shall bring. Talks about FFP and how we are to overcome it. Mentions that the marketing plan for Milan is a 5-10 year project and there’s huge room for growth.

My opinion is that Bennacer has huge potential, but his mistakes are also notable in a team like Milan where he doesn't have much composure around him. At a team like Man City with his potential and willingness I have no doubt he'll break a starting spot. Errors might be less forgiven but he has a host of great players to develop with.

Bennacer is not your average young talent, he takes risks and with those risks he has slowly reduced his errors. There have been countless players with potential that just don't have the mental level. I see Bennacer as a top 10 prospect in the world at this moment. He's exciting to watch.
