Winter Mercato 11'/12'

As it stands it might be better to promote someone like gnaz or kingsey boateng just to act as cover for el shaarawy until either milan can pick someone up in the winter mercato you never know they potentially could be good enough to be permanent first team options eliminating the need for a new striker.

In addition i have my reservations whether firstly milan will have the budget to pay for a new striker as berlusconi is politically in the firing line over his austerity measures he might be lynched for spending 30 million on torres while making 80000 public sector employees redundant. secondly is the will from the management to push for a new stiker at this point it seems like a secondary objection with the problem of slow immobile defensive midfield option lurking in the team which has only been enhanced with gattuso potentially career ending injury.

nice post there. Okmilan

I also believe that if we had any money we should spend it on an adequate van Bommel replacement. His first (half-)season with us was phenomenal, but he is now showing signs of declining. He is old after all. Ambrosini's form has plummeted. We still need to find a new LB (if Taiwo can't fit in). There are so many more priorities before a new attacker, that's why I believe that we will just examine our available options. I don't think aubameyang is good enough though; unfortunately, nor is Paloschi judging from his recent seasons. I am glad that you brought up Kingsley Boateng. He impressed me much this year. Maybe he (after El Shaarawy) could help our team.
i had been following dortmund matches off late...yes , gotze is a talent at such a young age, but amother talent is schmelzer who is the left back....his positioning sense is really world class, defensive and offensive side of the game is very well balanced. if i was galliani i would replace taiwo with him next season....

OUT:Roma, Bonera, Zambrotta, Taiwo, Seedorf, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Inzaghi, Cassano
IN: Schmelzer, DavidLuiz, Santon, DeRossi, Merkel, Strasser, Eriksen,GiuseppeRossi, Paloschi
We need to give taiwo time,he's been with us only 2 month.his positioning definitely needs work, but we need his immense raw talent.just keep in mind that for how long abate and marcelo took to fit in,both were consided weak in defence and strong on offence.

I'm little bit disappoited that allegri choose zambrotta over taiwo for the game tonight.

For me the most impressive Dortmund player is Matts Hummels. If we want a long term successor in Nesta's place, then right now this is the only defender in world football that really interests me (well, Thiago Silva too, but he's ours Big Grin ).

Almost every starting XI in Dortmund is talent. Some of their real gems are Hummels, Subotic, Schmelzer (that's almost their entire starting backline), Sven Bender, Gundogan, Kagawa, Gotze (almost their entire midfield) and Lucas Barrios.
MILAN! MILAN! SOLO CON TE!
MILAN! MILAN! SEMPRE PER TE!
Only Gotze is the special one!but we are not competitive enough financially.

Of course if not only Gotze who's special, they'd conquer Europe and Bundesliga by now.

That's very true, Dortmund have lots of good players and it's surprising to see they've had such a slow start this year.

I don't think only Goetze is special, I definitely think Hummels has a very strong future, hence I think we should go for him as Nesta's long term replacement.

Others, like Kagawa, Barrios and Schmelzer also have no reason why they can't go far. They're all pretty young and talented.
I heard that bayern has kept eyes on hummels. i believe that it is just a matter of time that he plays for bayern. and to add to that, hummels himself was a product of bayern's youth rank.

That's precisely why, I remember to read sometimes ago, he wouldn't want to go back to a club which he feels "dumped" him. He stated blatantly he won't play for Bayern anymore ever. Of course when a 35M megabid comes.... But to say it, he'll be certainly harder for Bayern to acquire than Neuer was.

Hummels are tipped to be Germany's starting centreback in Euro 2012, a position that also contains J. Boateng, Badstuber, Mertesacker, Tasci and Howedes.... On the other hand, it's sad that the era of the likes of Baresi, Maldini, Nesta and Cannavaro in Italy NT backline are gone.
