Is this guy a clown or idiot what does he thinks? we are some kind of Man City or PSG?? I mean there are so many good defenders and RW in the market like Wesley Fofana, Simakan, Badashile etc and a long list of RWs that will cost us 20-25M but still we will go for overpriced and overrated players.
The biggest problem with Pioli is his stubbornness to make move for players outside of Serie A clubs(and this was Rangnick's advantage).
Only players from mid-table Serie A which I will make a move are Boga and Barrow. Pioli should just shut his dirty f*cking mouth on this. Angry Angry

But we don't know this right now. We are only going off of rumors. We are yet to go through a real market with Pioli. In January, we signed 3 players (Ibra, Saele and Kjaer) and 2 of them were from outside of Italy.

All i'm saying is, let's be patient. We are also linked to many players from outside of Italy. Quality is the most important thing.

Having said that, I agree that Milenkovic and Chiesa are way overpriced and other players of similar quality can be bought for cheaper. Quality and translating that quality into games in a different country are not the same thing though. So naturally, a player that's already played in Italy and has proven to be capable in the league, will be a more "confident" purchase then someone from another country (look at Paqueta as an example). Having said that, it's tough to figure out how much more this "proven in Italy" thing is really worth.
I wouldn't pay 60mil for Chiesa. Somewhere aronnd 40? Yes. That for me is equivalent to a similar quality player from a different country that costs 30mil. That 10mil difference gives you "assurance" that there is "no" adaptation period or risk. Or at least, it is much lower then for players outside the country.

Paqueta came from Brazil and I have never supported the idea of spending more than 15-20M outside European league.

That 'proven in Italy' thing is a myth, look at Gagliardini, Cristante, Bernadaschi, Caldara, Bertolacci, Politano, Kalinic, Biglia, Laxalt, Spinnazola, De Sciglio, There are so many examples of this in last 4-5 years. You either Miss or hit kind of thing. Actually, this thing is more applicable in England than any other league.
Forza Diavolo ale!!!
There is no 'proven in Serie A' thing, but there might be a 'needs a year to get used to Serie A'

For every Gagliardini and Bertolacci, there is Andre Silva and Ricardo Rodriguez.

But, that wasn't my point. What I was saying that, when it comes to players of similar quality (all things considered equal, if you wanna think of it that way), clubs will usually go for someone within their own league because there is LESS of an unknown. Every transfer can fail and presents a risk. Those risks need to be weighed.

A player from abroad could be considered to have mercurial talent, and then even 50mil would be considered well worth the risk. On the other hand, if a player from abroad is considered to be more or less on the same level as a player within Italy...and if the Italian player costs (let's just say as an example) 5mil more then the foreign player.....then the Italian club may look at that 5mil extra and say..."this is worth the money because we think it's less risk of the transfer working out". Again...all other things considered equal. For some players, that leverage may be 5mil, for some 10mil or whatever. These are the things clubs will think about.

I know where I stand. I don't wanna spend 35mil on Tonali, when we can spend 20 in Roca. I don't wanna spend 60mil on Chiesa, when we can spend 30 on Neres. Etc, etc. BUT...if those prices were a lot closer, then I might think differently. If Tonali was 25, maybe i'd spend 5 more on him compared to Roca (precisely because of the reasons I stated above). Same with Chiesa....if he was 35, i may say 5mil more for him is more of a guarantee for me compared to Neres at 30.

Those were just examples btw.

This is a double standard. Big Grin Both the things you mentioned exist. But no transfer is a guarantee. Within Italy or from outside of Italy. There are so many factors that can derail a player's career after a transfer. A different league/country is one of those for a foreign player....whereas a player from within Italy does't have that risk.
Having said that...all the other risks are still present. So maybe not a huge difference at the end....but surely, we can't say that "proven in Serie A" doesn't matter.

ok, but I won't change my mind about buying RW outside of Italy, there are honestly only 2 good young RW(who play for mid-table of course) Chiesa and Orsolini and both are overpriced. Cengiz Under(Roma wants to sell) is another but he is way too inconsistent.

Viktor Tsygankov
Calvin Stengs
Ismaila Sarr
Samu Chukwueze
Bryan Mbeumo
Krepin Diatta
Monor Solamon
Wanderson(Krasnodar)
Sharpey Suleymanov
Bertrand Traore
Marcus Edwards(porcho might tell you more about him)

There many more...but this is what I remember
Forza Diavolo ale!!!
For RW, I would suggest we make a loan with option/obligation bid for Chucky Lozano. I know he didn't set Serie A on fire this year with Napoli but a year ago this time, he was one of the hottest wingers in football. Since we do not want to spend a fortune on a non-world class quality winger like Chiesa, let's be reasonable and add someone like Lozano, who has potential to explode. This market is really more about seizing opportunities instead of splashing the cash on bankable winners anyway since we don't have CL money to play with.

Yeah, no way he's worth 50-60m. I'd take Berardi in a heartbeat. Boga is a risk for 35m after 1 good season.

Bakayoko and Tonali for midfield would be two huge signings.

Chelsea are asking for more than €22M for Bakayoko. Milan offers €15M. The Rossoneri management is hoping that The Blues settle for a compromise. (Sun Football)

There is still no agreement between Milan and Torino for Rodriguez. Milan wants a fee around €4M-€4.5M. Torino wants to close at €2M-€2.5M while leveraging the close expiry of Rodriguez's contract and the possibility of Milan getting rid of his heavy salary. (DiMarzio)

How do we get this deal done. ASAP before they find clips of his pre COVID form.

20m would be fair for Bakayoko.

Seriously. Just sell him. Don't push too much. We can't afford for Torino to change their mind.

Yep. we can't make conclusions about Pioli's transfer targets based on paper talk. especially during silly season where everyone is buying everyone.

That line puts it perfectly. When you sign a player from Italy you need to contend with the player fitting into your team. Wehn buying from abroad we need to contend with fitting into the team AND fitting into the league. The Serie A premium lowers the chance of a flop but does not eliminate it.

Why not both. I would actually like to see Berardi come in but would be very happy to see Lozano come in on loan with option also.
Give us some depth as well as an option to give a guy some game time that didn't get much at Napoli and just didn't seem to fit.
He could be a flop in which case we send him back end of season, or he could excel, giving us to opportunity to buy him and have atop winger. In the mean time we'd have Berardi who can start from the word go.
i would love to have lozano and berrardi at milan, i think both can coexist together
