Duarte could go back on loan to Brazil.

We are not title contenders, that's too much. Top 3 (or 4) should be our aim and we don't need the extra pressure. The midfield looks to being rebuilt very well and the form of last season can continue but other areas are just promises for the future. Depth wise too. Even if very important moves happen (19 days left in window) I think this season we have to keep expectations in check.

For me, it would be paying for someone that has by now proven to be average. He was very highly rated as a youngster. Had a good season at Lazio and has been inconsistent for the remainder of his career. Now at 25, he is not old. But I think he's shown his level/ceiling. I'd rather use 15mil (plus i'm sure his wages will be at least 2.5/3mil or more) somehow else. I don't see him as a better player then any one of our starting players (in his position). So while 15mil won't get you anyone else better, it can at least get someone that hasn't leveled out in his career at this average level where Keita seems to be stuck.

Keita at Lazio was one of the best young strikers in the world. It’s rare for a foreigner coming into Italy to do so well and so consistent. He was dominant in our league. Then he went to Monaco and didn’t do quite as well. He may have been average in his last spell, but he’s definitely not an average player.

Keita has played 5,850 minutes in 4 Serie A seasons for Lazio between 2013 and 2017 and scored 26 goals and 8 assists. He came at a very young age and was immature early on. In his last season, he scored 16 goals + 3 assists in 1932 minutes, with quite a Lazio side that couldn’t break into the top 5. He was 22 years old! That’s a goal/assist every 101 minutes. He then replicated that ratio at Monaco with a goal/assist every 113 minutes. He then went to Inter and got a goal/assist every 126 minutes despite only playing 850 minutes all season. Last season at Monaco he only got 855 minutes as well and averaged a G/A per 145 minutes.

That’s not average, not even close. We haven’t had a striker with those numbers in a very long time (Ibra did better in his last 6 months here though, but Ibra doesn’t compare to humans). Keita’s 25 and Serie A proven.

Keita can play in all of the front three positions and can also play as a CF. He is a much better player than Castillejo and Saelemakers. Rebic is talented but quite dumb, I don’t know how long will his good form last with us. I’m not sure if he’s the Ibra’s new Nocerino, but I believe Keita is a much better player.

I’d definitely take Keita on a loan + option as we are so weak in the CF position. I really think Ibrahimovic has been atrociously bad for most of last season on the pitch (but his impact on the team is unquestionable), he’s been just as bad in the friendlies so far. Are we really willing to gamble on Leao/Rebic or even Colombo as a CF if Ibra gets injured? I don’t know but I’m not comfortable with our CF selection and definitively not happy with our RW options.

Keita at loan/option of 15m is a much better deal than Chiesa at 40m.

Keita would offer a solution for both positions. It’s a shame that Castillejo is so rated by Milanisti of today. The last decade of averageness has brought average expectations I guess. Thankfully, we have a competent management now to take care of those depth issues and I think they did well with bringing Tonali - for depth. I don’t think Kessie-Tonali-Bennacer will work successfully as a midfield trio. We need an attacking midfielder with creativity if we want to play with a midfield 3. These 3 do not have what it takes to play that attacking role.

Especially as we are set to let Paqueta go (and Bonaventura’s already gone), we are seriously lacking depth in attacking midfielders. Seriously lacking. If we don’t cover that position also, then I’d consider the Tonali investment a wrong one because they went for luxury rather than necessity.

I strongly think we still need a CF, RW, Attacking LCM/RCM (if we are to play with a midfield trio). It seems like we’re willing to go ahead with Calabria/Kalulu for RB. It’s okay I guess for a team not playing for Scudetto (which I really think should be our aim as we have the elite Ibra mentality now).

Keita's career trajectory is exactly why young players should be careful where they sign. Like you said, he did well at Lazio and then immediately went after a big money move to Monaco. In a new league, a new country and a new team, his progress stagnated and he went from a rising star to a journeyman in the span of like three years. Young players need to prioritize environment to grow much more so than just the number on their paycheck or else.

There was a time when I really wanted Keita. But now it's different. He hasn't done well enough at Monaco for them to wanna keep him. He didn't do well enough at Inter for them to wanna keep him. I understand when you isolate the stats and look at goals/min or what not it looks decent. But on the whole, he simply hasn't done enough. Clearly. This is why he's bouncing from club to club and seems to be on the go again this transfer period.

As a back up/rotation, ok....but i'm not convinced he'll be more then that and I'd prefer us to sign someone that hasn't hit the ceiling yet and could potentially displace a starter in the near future.

Not sure where Castillejo comes in and how Milan fans think highly of him. For me, Castillejo is also average. The thing here is though, Keita isn't really in competition with Samu. Different roles. He is in competition with Rebic...and dumb or not, Ibra or not, Rebic was huge for us this past season.
He's also in competition with Leao and even Hakan (if let's say we move to a 442 without Hakan for some games or during a game).

You left out his flop season at Merda. I see Keita as pretty much a one season wonder  that season was tremendous , yes. But nothing much since. Not to mention he rejected us for Merda, so fuck him. 
I would prefer to get a backup CF though.

Left side will be Rebic+Diaz+Leao. AM Hakan+Diaz. Right Chiesa+Samu perhaps.  Maldini+Colombo are wildcards however neither will probably do much.

This is true, however, he works his ass off. He tries to defend and doesn't sulk on the field. I say the guy he replaced was more overrated. I think Samu needs to shoot and hopefully score more. That's how I see him anyway.
